I required frequent care to empty my illeostomy pouch and general help. The care provided by the following personnel to accomodate my needs was greatly appriciated. CNA's - Ashley Aragon, Patricia, Paula & Saleem - During their shift assigned to me, were attentive to my needs, checked on me regularly and made me comfortable. Acctivities Coordinators - Maylon & Ana were very helpful and provided the enjoyable experience. Physical/Ocupational Therapist - Lampert, Jesus, Darius, Delaney were forcused on my needs and attended to my recovery. I had a comfortable recovery period and was able to walk with a walker when I left the facility.

That made visits from my husband easier on him, at least. I had a roommate who snored loudly, watched loud TV all night, even when asleep, it seemed, and there was nothing that anyone could do. I get that. The actual rehab staff was great; they really did help me to literally get back on my feet. Most of the nurses, LPN and CNAs were good, kind, caring, and patient. But a few bad apples, as they say. The TWO who, when called to help with a bedpan overnight, said, just pee in your diaper appalled me. It could take forever to get someone to answer a call button, and they let you know that, pretty much, they would not respond to buttons during meal times. Not sure if the placement coordinator from Kaiser was right, but I would not choose to go there again.

Had a meeting with them a few months ago and they promised to hold our room at current level without increase for one year. The following two months I was over billed again and had to fight for a credit. Finally received credit and got billed a couple days ago for December and over charged again! Looking to move my Mom to a new facility soon. They will over bill you every month if you're not watching the billings.

The staff was professional and compassionate. We were walked through every phase. When my dad passed, the nurse stayed with our family for hours, not because she had to but because she wanted to make sure we were ok. Medical Equipment (Grade D): Unnecessary "bundled" equipment arrived without transparency. Crucially, delivered an unsafe, bed with 40-year-old design bed with malfunctioning manual rails, leading to a patient fall and injury. Medications (Grade C): Late-night deliveries (after 8 PM) and inadequate supply for basic needs like constipation. Personal Care (Grade C): Aide was inflexible regarding scope of care, refusing basic help with a meal despite the patient's physical weakness. Emotional and Spiritual Support Counseling (Grade F): Minimal contact and zero emotional support. The social worker was dismissive, suggested the patient use briefs instead of the bathroom for caregiver convenience, and eventually stopped visits entirely, citing the VA as a reason to disengage. Caregiver and Family Assistance Emergency Response (Grade F): A two-hour nurse response time following a stroke. The responding nurse was unable to answer questions, used a CPAP instead of required oxygen, and failed to check swallowing safety until prompted. Understand that my mother was brought to the home and immediately put into hospice care through Ace Hospice. The hospice nurses were over the top wonderful. When you are in a rush trying to find a board and care home for a loved one whose days are numbered, you tend to sign things without really reading them thoroughly. They have a clause in their contract that states that there will be no refund for monthly rent. Meaning if you pay a new months rent and your loved one passes away the next day, you forfeit all of the rest of the months rent. My mother passed away 7 days into the new month. I expected to get back a pro-rated months rent. That's when they bring up the clause in the contract and keep your money. If you decide to move your loved one here, be aware of the contract that you are signing and read and understand everything. I figure they took over $4000 of my mother's money.

They have never once let us down in the level of care our Mother has with her Alzheimer's, which is challenging as all know. Mom is safe, relaxed hair combed, clean clothes EVERY SINGLE time we have stopped in and those times have varied immensely over the years. Walking into their home is liking walking into my own family's home. Sparkling clean, INCREDIBLY good and tempting smells coming from the kitchen, fresh fruit available every time I have been there. I often kid with Beth and tell her to get a room ready, I am ready to move in and be pampered the way she does our Mother. As Mom's illness has progressed over the years, Beth and Gloria have shown us methods that help Mom know we are there, better methods of "reaching" her, something I do not feel I could have learned on my own. If you are looking for a PERFECT place for a parent who needs more help than the family can provide, there is nowhere else I could recommend. They are gifts from heaven in my book!

You could look far & wide to find a more caring environment but I doubt you'd find it. Their house is always scrupulously clean; mom is always clean & well groomed. The only time I smell anything is when meals are being prepared & it smells GOOD! If I could live there myself, I would!! Food is freshly prepared & dietary restrictions aren't an issue - they cater to it (mom is diabetic). The Cuenco family is friendly, compassionate, genuine, & clearly love what they do. It shows in every aspect of their Board & Care home. I count my family's blessings the day I was introduced to the them. Mom couldn't be in more capable hands & we all take comfort in knowing that she, in the depths of Alzheimer's, is in such a loving environment. The Cuenco's also have a Board & Care Home in Concord. I've no doubt it's as FABULOUS as their Antioch home.

Our…read moremother was there for two years.. the level of service can only be rated as excellent.. she just passed at 102 years old... the complete compassion shown to us was so welcoming.. after two years the staff new us quite well with daily or weekly visits.. the help extended to us even with setting up her birthday last year turning 102. She almost made it to 103 on this Halloween.. she just couldn't stay for that , there were people waiting to see her when she took her last breath in the arms of me her daughter and her two grandsons ... we were all there... I can't not thank Diamond Ridge its staff , social services Lanae and Carmala in accounting and I can't forget the receptionist June.. wonderful young man... I want to thank even the cleaning staff who were remarkable in keeping the facility in awesome condition Thank you all Abbigail and Mike
