Stay away from this business! Serious problem with honesty and integrity: I went to Shlomit thinking I was getting a silk peel. When I arrive, she did not mention that she wasn't going to do the silk peel. She proceeded to do her own procedure without consulting with me or at least mentioning that she was not going to do the silk peel. After being confused about what she was actually trying to do to my face, I finally confronted her about her change in direction. Here is what I gathered from her response 1. Deer in headlights response as she tried to explain to me that she was going to text me before the appointment that she wasn't going to do the silk peel but "forgot". How do you forget this crucial detail?!? When your client is asking to have a certain procedure done and you are choosing a different route, you consult with your client BEFORE the procedure to ensure that all is in agreement. Even if she did forgot to text me, she had ample opportunity to inform me on her change in direction BEFORE starting the procedure. But she did neither. It leads me to believe that she had ulterior motives for "forgetting". 2. She proceeded to explain that given my skin condition, her procedure was more appropriate. Why? I have no idea. She did not explain that to me. In fact, her explanation for everything throughout the session was vague at best. Does she actually know what she's talking about? The jury is still out on that. She was definitely trying sound scientific but failing badly at it. Can we say snake oil saleswoman? 3. I found out that what actually happened was that her microdermabrasion broke and therefore she could not even perform the silk peel even if she wanted to. Once again, deer in headlights like she was caught in a lie. She tried to rationalize by saying that what she did that night costs $125 which is cheaper than the silk peel which is $170. How is that suppose to make me feel better about being mislead and lied to and not given the choice to refuse the alternative service? 4. Another yelp reviewer mentioned her strong opinion. Well I think this is one case where her strong opinion and dishonesty played out in a bad way. Shlomit has a serious issue with honesty, integrity and just not telling the truth. What it all comes down to is that she wanted money and did not want to discourage me from coming to the appointment. I strongly discourage people from going to see her. read more

I've been going to The Beauty Network and Shlomit has been kindly looking after my skin for a few years now. I'm embarrassed to say it has taken me this long to write a review. I've seen my fair share of estheticians and even have a license myself but don't practice. Shlomit is one of if not the BEST ever. My skin was so sad and dehydrated when I walked in the door and she has restored it. In fact, I had a facial yesterday and when I looked in the mirror this morning, my skin looked so amazing that I thought I was dreaming. What I love about Shlomit and the Beauty Network: 1) Shlomit carefully examines your skin and designs a treatment for you. It could be a different treatment each time or the same --it depends on what your skin tells her. 2) Shlomit stays up to date on the latest techniques but does not buy into fads. So in other words, she has quite an arsenal of TARGETED treatments in her wheelhouse to make your skin happy and sing. One treatment she has --the Silk Peel (it's an infusion of hydration) would cost you twice as much at a dermatologist. 3) Shlomit is also great at waxing. I'm very particular about my brows and she gets them right every time -- and she takes her time. Leyla has also done my waxing and I was very pleased with the service as well. It is great to have all of this in one place. I used to go to 4 different shops - one for brows, one for facials, one for other waxing and one for product. 4) Shlomit does the research for me! She is always researching, reading and attending seminars to stay current on the latest products and ingredients. When you walk in, you will notice they carry a lot of products. Shlomit knows what is in every single product! I've never asked for a product that she didn't have or have something better -- whether it is for the face and body. She does recommend products for her clients -- this may annoy some people-- but don't let it. Just buy it and throw out whatever you've been subjecting your face to. I've never regretted buying any product from her because they work! I've only regretted not buying things the first time she suggested it. I realize I'm just one opinion but my mom, mother in law and best friend --which does not even live in Cali are all now using her products. 5) everyone in the shop is very warm, friendly and there to help you, the customer. The Beauty Network is definitely the place to go if you want to see results--not a frilly spa that charges you twice as much for minimal results. I had a very nice experience in this place. I only ended up going there because I got a great deal on Living Social : $50 for a customized facial. When I first walked in, I was a little nervous because the place looked more like a store than a spa. Soon, however, I relaxed. The treatment room was warm, cosy and comfortable. Cristina, who took care of me, was very sweet and gentle. Besides the facial, she gave me a shoulder and hand massage. She spent almost an hour and a half with me and she didn't leave my side even for a minute. I feel I looked really good afterwards and the facial must have done its trick because an hour after walking out of there I went to a coffee shop and was hit on by a kid 15 years younger than me. Well, maybe he is into older ladies but I have the feeling that the facial and how it made me feel had something to do with it. :) read more

So I never got "zits" until my mid twenties. I have what one would call hormonal acne, which is around your chin and hairline and is pretty painful. The best thing about getting my make up at Beauty Network is that you don't have to go downtown to the department stores where the lighting basically sucks. Beauty Network has all their makeup out and they have real windows that provide natural light so you can see exactly how it will look on your skin. This is critical, as you know, if you want to make sure your foundation matches. Anyway, I tell all my friends to shop there for makeup and products.
