Like the Discount Tire of batteries, they will test any battery for free - and I have leaned on that service to check on everything from key fobs and watch batteries to large "brick" power sources (think large toys; home/alarm backup batteries; etc.) to vehicle batteries. I like how they always explain the test results -- i.e., the voltage vs amperage and the significance of the "cold cranking power." I forget every time (and they kindly don't remember I forgot :) One of their neatest offerings is the "lifetime" battery replacement for select gadgets. For roughly double the cost of a one-time replacement you get lifetime replacement. Either way, they replace the battery for you as part of the battery purchase. I use the lifetime option for my old school watches (think Timex/Casio). Bear in mind each device and owner are carefully registered in their database so that there is no way to "double-dip" by improperly switching a dead device with the device you got the replacement-warranty on. They carry virtually every type of battery in-house too so you have immediate replacement options. Their dates (always check) are consistently "fresh" - meaning expirations are far into the future.

I took the AGM 48 to batteries plus as it was under warranty. Batteries plus contended that the AGM 48 was the correct battery and that the battery was fine. They wouldn't refund me $, and only replace the battery. Thankfully jack furrier allowed me to return the battery they just installed. Batteries plus then told me they didn't have the 94R and wouldn't install an upgraded battery that was in stock. Thanks Gordy. So what could've been done by 10:30 am today had to wait until after 3 pm. So who would I trust? Jack furrier has worked on the jeep for years. I drove over, waited in line behind 4 people, got to the counter and that guy said he'd sell me the battery but couldn't install it. I told him I had just called, the guy I spoke to said they could install. Guy behind counter said it wasn't me you spoke to and I'm too busy to install it. Customer service here is non existent. Luckily my truck started and I was able to get help somewhere else. Avoid these bozos. They don't give a damn about people in need of help.

They called & told me they only had 1 - OC2 (understandable) & I said fine, just adjust the order/refund for the 2 missing tubes, no biggie. What I then received was 1 - OC2, 4 - OA2, and 1 - OB2, some RCA, a Sylvania and a "Conn" (life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get). All looked pretty rough, dirty & very bent pins. I have not tested them yet but at best they may test as NOS, but are definitely used, not NOS. When I called to correct the order, I was told "you received the correct total number of tubes, so we cant refund. You need to send back tubes if you want them replaced". Considering this was their mistake, and that we're talking about tubes that are worth, at most, $9.50, I had assumed they would send out replacements for the 2 - missing OB2 tubes, and either send a return postage slip, or just say "keep the tube you didn't order". But, I guess that's not how they roll. Anyway, lesson learned. I wont bother them with my business again.

And, I was absolutely appalled at the 180-degree turnaround in the owner, Mike's behavior towards me when it came time for my reimbursement. Per his employee, Shaun I was to receive a credit of my entire invoice. Not only did Mike short me $40 on that invoice, but I had to pay an additional $35. to go elsewhere. Out of pocket total? $75. Attempting to offer Mike the benefit of the doubt, I drove to General Power, not once, but twice to accommodate Mike. General Power's online presence stated they were open, but doors were locked when I arrived that first time, Friday afternoon. Got photos to prove it, too. Since it is my word against his, all I can say is that I do not lie. My philosophy is: DO THE RIGHT THING. Since they were closed the first time, I had to venture there again to check on the true story of the battery. And yes, it was a defective battery. His excuse to not reimburse me fully? ''Life is not always fair''. Irrelevant is what I say to that. I'll remember that one next time I'm running a bit short on cash for my cell phone bill! It's a moot point. Show. Me. The. Money. MY MONEY. My primary reason for this review lies in Mike's inability to have open communication. Mike would not have it and aggressively stated that I was not allowed to talk. Hang-up #2. I went up and beyond the call of duty to support a LOCAL businessman. His angry tirade was not what I would expect from an experienced owner of a company. A final note, the 3% bank fee for the partial reimbursement proved to be a difficulty on Mike's part... they told me to come back a THIRD TIME (yes, true story!) or they could mail me a check. When my wife's car battery was having issues, they were quick to troubleshoot and ended up doing quite a bit of wire replacement to get all the corrosion resolved. The work was done quite well and the car works perfectly. Mike freely shares his knowledge and will let you know how to take care of a battery properly to get the most life out of it.
