I was at The Basement with a group of 10 friends. It is a Sports Bar. They also had Karaoke the night we were there. The food is good, pretty much what you'd expect at a pub or bar - we each got a sandwich and also shared several appetizers. The service was adequate, though we had to go and find our server a couple of times when we wanted to order another round of drinks. Overall, a nice place to go with friends to relax, kick back and chill out. A few of those in our group did do Karaoke - they had a great selection of music for this. read more

Want to love this place and hate to give it such a low rating but I have to. This restaurant has such potential and an amazing opportunity to give us all another place to eat regularly while peeling customers away from the Lizard but they are run so amazingly poor I am afraid it never will live up to their potential. We came with a big group last night and our dinner took an hour to be made. To op it off they forgot to make my dinner...19 people eating and I sat there. This would have never happened at the Lizard. Did the manager apologize you ask...no. He decided the better thing to do was make excuses. Did he comp my dinner...no. It is as if they didn't even want me to come back. People in this community need another place to eat so bad yet The Basement continues to think they are a nightclub that serves food. Them call themselves a sports bar but I'm not sure they realize what that means. Turn the damn music down and be a sports bar. People want to watch sports and talk but it is like they just don't care. The food is great and if they actually decided to run the restaurant professionally and commit to being a sports bar they will slay them in this neighborhood. I have tried this place twice. First time was not good.... But thought I would give it another go round since it is so close to where I live. Again, not great. Both times it took over 40 minutes to get our food. Neither time was the place even half full, and we only had 3 people at our table both times! Once we received our food, it was alright. But definitely not worth the wait. Overall this place is ALRIGHT at best. Atmosphere is kinda cool, service is somewhat friendly, and food is egh. read more

I should have known that when you walk into a restaurant on a Friday evening and you see the chairs are still up on the tables that should tell you something. The service was beyond poor. I took over 30 minutes to get waited on in an establishment that was not busy and another 45 minutes to get our food. I ordered a Yuengling Beer and received a Lite Beer. The waitress did not tell me that they only had lite beer in Yuengling. What was really disturbing was the fact that a table that was seated before us received their drinks and food before us even though the waitress took our order before them. When the food finally came out it was barely warm. Anyway as Kevin O'Leary from the Shark Tank would say, "You are dead to me". We will never return to this establishment. read more

Don't waste your time or money. Customer service and properly prepared food is non existent in this establishment and nobody seems to care.

Great food for a bar and a great bunch of employees. I always feel welcome there and leave satisfied. They have the coldest beer on tap too. If you like pizza, the Kaluger Chicken Pizza is the best. The fries are fresh cut small shoestring and are best when they're crispy. If you ask for extra crispy they come out perfect. read more

Terrible service and it is a shame because the food is usually decent. The waitress actually tried to defend her horrible service by stating " I'M ONLY ONE PERSON, I HAVE SIX TABLES". I went there and won't go back. In fact I was told not to come back. My wife & I went there at about 6:40 on a Friday evening. It wasn't packed, but there was a good crowd. 10 mins later we ordered subs and wings and a drink for me. At 7:40 the server told us the food would be coming soon. I explained that I'd wait 5 more minutes & then I'd leave. At 7:45 I I left money & a tip for the drink, told my server I was leaving. She told the bartender, who notified the manager. The manager came out and told me I owed him for the food I ordered. I said no. Cops were called, I explained my side & not sure what the manager said. It ended by the police saying I was thrown out and was not to come back. I asked the officer if he *really* thought I needed to be told not to come back. Had the manager simply say, 'hey we're running way behind and I apologize. Have a drink on the house' I would have had a much different opinion. Very poor business decision on his part. read more

This place had way too many tv's, poor service. Had no beer/ wine list so quite difficult to order anything, the waiters had a partial list they read from. The food was the typical seen everywhere, nothing standing out. Unusual bar layout making some seats more difficult to wait on.Some bartenders really engrossed in chatting near end of bar, not helping others that were scrambling. Never going back. read more

My experience here was very basic. Went on a Thursday night to go and watch the CAVS game. Wasn't crowded however the bar didn't have 2 seats next to each other and was only 8:30 at night. We were greeted by a server until 9:30, the appetizers we ordered weren't to shabby (that was until I woke up the next morning). Every drink/shot I asked for they didn't have the alcohol for because of Thanksgiving being the weekend before (why they didn't put in an order for my bottles at a bar is beyond me) at the end of the night I asked the bartender to surprise us with a shot because everything I was asking for they didn't have. I told her "surprise us with a shot something along the lines of whiskey (since that's what we had been drinking) but mixed with something so it's a little tasty" and the waitress brought us the most expensive shot they offered (Threewise Men) needless to say it will probably be a while if ever that I will subject myself to this bar and grille. No doubt there is defiantly potential for The Basement to be an awesome time to throw back some brews and watch a game with good people, but the atmosphere was lacking in regarded to their customer service and quality of food, along with the availability of booze. Huge improvement from the ownership of Panini's. The staff is entirely new, which was completely necessary to turn around this place. I live close-by so I felt impelled to write this review because there is only one review and it's negative. I've been to The Basement maybe 5 times since it's opening and I have been very happy with the service each time and have been equally as happy with the food and pricing. read more

The food was good, the french fries were like fair fries, our waiter was very attentive and we were in and out within an hour. The prices were reasonable. I easily could have lingered and watched one of several screens showing different events. I wouldn't hesitate to return. read more

Poor service, ok food and TERRIBLE drinks. I ordered a vodka tonic and got tonic with ice. If I'm paying for something I expect it to be made properly. When I brought this to my waitresses attention she had no clue as to how to handle the situation so she sent out the "manager" aka the guy bartending who had ZERO customer service skills and also did not know how to handle the situation. The owner of this bar is a JOKE. Customers asking to speak with him and he went and hid in the back. The two bartenders that are always there are HORRIBLE. They have no class and not one ounce of kindness in their bodies. My friend and I were given glasses of cranberry juice that were supposed to be vodka/cran. Definitely no liquor in there. Absolutely disgusting place, the bartender seemed drunk, and all the food was so over seasoned; the burger and fries tasted the same. For the price I would recommend so many other places in town. This is probably last place. Would not be back. read more
