Let me start by saying my wife & I recently started into the hobby for about 3 months now, we have visited about every sports hobby shop in northern nj including the baseball card store several times in those 3 months. We have always been treated fairly and respectfully by George. He gives you ample space for you to look around and is not hounding you. He is very competitive and has good prices- I've seen prices from all stores and if I have kept returning it's for a reason. The times I have asked for help or any questions George has been great. On top of all of that I have had great pulls from the products!! read more

Stopped in just to browse, and the experience was disappointing. The owner was rude and made the atmosphere feel uncomfortable by constantly staring us down as if we had to buy something. The selection was very limited, and the prices were outrageous--I saw a Topps Series 2 Baseball Jumbo Box marked up by about $150 over retail. Between the poor customer service and excessive pricing, I wouldn't recommend this shop. There are much better card stores out there. read more

Had been going to this card shop for 10+ years when it was Dave & Mike's and they were the absolute best. My family moved an hour south and my fiancée and I wanted to check it out, so we drove an hour to come check it out And the new "owner" George was very discourteous. I was asking him questions about when he took over and remodeled the shop and for some reason, he took offense to my questions. He felt the need to remind me that he's now the owner and my questions about the shop were..."personal...?" I was disappointed to find out about Mike retiring and Dave passing away, but even more disappointed to find out that they sold it to someone so rude like George. Less selection than there used to be and customer service is unfortunately even worse. Thumbs down for George, his attitude needs some work! read more

Fuck these guys! Owner is a complete douchebag and their prices are outrageous. He's always on his phone and is a complete dick in any interaction. The store is not kid-friendly in the slightest when everyone gives you the stink eye. Stay away people! Go to Monmouth cards for a better experience! read more

The prices and services are not great. The owner is not Friendly at all. He was just looking at us waiting for us to buy something. Felt very pressured read more

I grew up 5 minutes away and this was my local card shop until I was 10 years old when we moved in 1992. Great memories and great people.

Great cards at great prices:). Great selection of cards from every sport.+Nice staff also 1 free piece of bubblegum. I would definitely recommend for starting a collection. read more

Best card shop around hands down. Been going to them for about 15 years. They also just remodeled/expanded the shop. Great work place, even better guys! Knowledgable, honest and always have a nice selection at competitive prices. Thanks guys!! read more

They are all nice except for one. they yelled at us and told us to leave when we were opening packs and it was 10 degrees out. we also didn't have a ride home and we lived 30 minutes away. overall very bad store. not recommended, target is probably better. Stay away read more

They were very knowledgeable and extremely nice. They had so many different products available.

Good selection of anything you need sports card wise. Love going here for acouple packs or a nice box when i splurge. Prices are reasonable compared to other shops in the area, and the guys are friendly. read more

They are so nice in here! My ten year old loves going in to look around and shop. Really nice owners.

Came here looking to either sell or trade some of my autograph and jersey cards for other players/relics/etc. Honestly, one of the best experiences I've ever had as I left a very happy customer with 4 new cards to add to my collection! Even though it was my first time here you can be sure I'm coming back to both grow my own collection and barter more of it! 10/10 read more

I came here a few weeks ago to pick up a gift card for a nephew for his birthday as he frequents the store. Baseball cards are not my thing and I know very little about them. I went in and ordered the gift card and when the owner asked who to make it out to, I mentioned my nephews name and he immediately recognized him and knew him. I also wanted to get him a card or a few packs of cards as well, and he directed me to the packs he usually gets. All in all a smooth transaction. I love the personal attention I received here as it was foreign territory for me. read more

Not from the area, but happened to be in the area a few days ago and decided to stop in to see if they had hockey cards. They had a decent selection of modern era cards (though most the cards were 90s or early 00s) and they were reasonably priced. The guy who was working pointed out the National Hockey Card Day promo (I had already heard about it, but it was a real nice gesture) that was happening on 7/24 (today). On 7/24 I made the rounds to several card stores who were listed on the Upper Deck website as being part of the promo. Unfortunately, three of the six stores I visited didn't have cards (one said Upper Deck never sent them) or didn't even know the promo I was talking about. Luckily, The Baseball Card Store came through for me. The gentleman gave me a few packs and even threw in the bonus card for me. Both my experiences here have been positive, and it seems like they have a nice local following as they are always talking with the customers as if they know them. I'd definitely recommend it. read more

Good thing and good place highly recommended. Love the place. Amazing workers. Good cards.

Was in town last August from Colorado for a funeral and it was National Baseball Card Day. After the funeral luncheon we stopped in and they treated like all the regulars who might stop in on a Saturday in the summer. Highly recommended. read more

Came here all the way from Staten Island totally worth it. The store itself was amazing they have everything a card collector would need and if you wanna start collecting cards come here. Awesome little spot. Mike and Dave and the rest of the staff are great. Always engaging my son's in conversation. They have a great selection of cards and collectibles. My boys and I are regular Saturday customers. They regularly give card protectors with your purchase which is a nice touch. Don't hesitate to stop in and get a piece of dubble bubble. read more

Simply the best store around these parts for collectible cards, memorabilia and more. Great people own it, great people work here and mostly nice people shop here Prices are fair and selection is excellent. The personal service and old school camaraderie can't be beat! Do not buy cards at big box retailers. This is the spot! read more

The best store around. The owners are knowledgeable and honest. They have a nice selection and do not try to take advantage of people. Many of the other stores around are overpriced! read more

This is my go-to store for all my baseball card needs. Every visit is a pleasant experience. Dave and everybody there knows their stuff and is eager to help. Their prices are the best in the area, and the service is unmatched. I recommend The Baseball Card Store to everyone I know who is into the hobby of collecting cards! read more

I grew up with this store as my local hobby shop, and it's still serving my needs as a collector today. The owners are friendly and willing to make a deal, and always have the latest hobby boxes along with decent vintage cards available. They also are my stop for all my supplies: binders, pages, top loaders, and magnet holders. Strongly recommend stopping in. read more

I absolutely love this store! Went today for the first time and the owner working there was super friendly and personable. They literally have every kind of card you could imagine at pretty great prices. I sold him a couple of cards- I wouldn't say I got a very good deal but that's okay, most places won't even entertain buying cards! I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a baseball collectible! read more

We were in NJ and our 6 Yr old Grandson wanted to visit a sports card store. We were so lucky to find this great place - very friendly owners and staff made all of us feel welcome and went so far out of their way to make sure our Grandson left with a lot of cards and treats! Our son is a collector and found some things he can't generally find elsewhere. I read reviews that this store has been a fixture in this town for decades and I understand why! read more

Best place around for all sports cards, pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, supplies, packs, sets, commons, etc. Mike and Dave are always very friendly and willing to answer any questions you may have. They have thousands of current and vintage cards to look through. I've been coming to this shop for almost 30 years and I always enjoy my visit. Fair prices, honest advice, and a large selection to choose from. If you're lucky Dave will tell you one of his famous jokes :) read more

I grew up with this place, and at this point it's become almost a permanent fixture in this tiny town. Whether you're in the market for some sports memorabilia or plastic sleeves for preserving photographs, posters, and documents, the Baseball Card Store carries it all. One of my favorite aspects about the store is how friendly the employees are, especially to the young children who frequent the store after school gets out for the day. Rather than shooing them away, they'll engage the kids in conversation, even as they rummage through the consistently-stocked shelves of candy. The Baseball Card Store is the quintessential small business, and its simplicity and positive relationship with the community has kept it around for a long time. Hopefully, this place will stay open for many more years. read more

Love their collections! Too bad I don't have a place like here in my neighbor! Very friendly people, enjoyed being there!

I don't collect as much as I did when I was a kid, but no matter how much time passes I can always count on going here to get friendly service and a baseball card fix! It is hard to find card stores anymore, let alone one that has stood the test of time and still offers a great atmosphere! If in the area you should stop in and check it out! read more

The Baseball card store is located right on Prospect ave in Midland Park- So it is very easy to get to although parking can sometimes be a pain ( i just do not park in front and instead go to the back or a side street). They have great prices and the people there really know a lot about baseball cards. And, after a couple of visits they even recognize you! You can buy and sell here so that is great. Everyone is so friendly. it is convenient. And I love that there is a store dedicated to all of this!! A must visit if you are a collector or enthusiast! read more
