Most barbers I've gone to before will just give me a standard cut without taking my weird cowlicks into account, so it would look good leaving the shop, but the next day it wouldn't look the same. I have been a resident of Eugene since '83 and had been going to Rudy's in Junction City because he was the only one who knew how to cut a traditional men's flat-top without the wash/dry over-priced snip and fluff. He was a one-chair barbershop and required appointments but again it was worth it. He became ill and then retired. I tried all the local big name advertised shops and some of the small hole-in-the-wall barbers but could not find anyone who could give me even half the job Rudy could do. I found the Barger Barber Shop simply by chance after I stopped for a pizza. My first impression was excellent. The shop was neat, and clean. The barbers all greeted me with a hello. There was modern urban music playing and the shop was packed with patrons. I spoke with owner Gabriel and decided to book an appointment. I returned a week later and had a great experience with Gabriel, he gave me the haircut I wanted: a traditional flat-top. Most barbers/stylists today do not know how to cut a men's flat-top in my experience. Gabriel is certainly one that does. While having my haircut (which lasted an hour) I observed the other barbers; they are meticulous with the haircuts and engage the customers. There is a big screen TV, and bottled beverages, an ATM, and plenty of parking. I have returned to Barger Barber Shop and continue to use Gabriel, though I have stopped the flat-top. The Barger Barber Shop is located directly behind Papa Murphy's Pizza, and less than a mile from the belt-line. I would highly recommend calling and making an appointment. read more

Gabriel has relocated from downtown at De Belloso and now moved out to Barger Barber Shop. I've been having Gabriel cut my hair for over 6 months now. Gabriel is all about doing a quality cut. He's not the type of barber that wants to get you in and out without having a care about how you look. He realizes that all his clients are walking billboards, which he takes pride in advertising his work. I really can't say enough good things about Gabriel and the quality cuts he provides. Something I've been able to enjoy is a razor fade! Not just any stylist is qualified to use a straight edge razor. Not only can he fade my skin, but he can do some CRAZY hair tats also. I caught one of the barbers attention and asked if I could make an appointment for tomorrow around the same time to ensure I get in. He said they take first come first serve reservations only and that i need to try to get there as soon as I can... I made an appointment with Julio at 1:45 he moved it to 2:00 to which was all good. I showed up one time but had to wait half an hour more and was unable to get haircut because I had to leave for class. Pretty much spent 50 dollars on Uber to hangout in the waiting area for 30 minutes. They know how to cut but Don't come here if you are on any kind of schedule. read more

Horrible customer service. Came in as a walk in for two hair cuts. There were 3 people in front of me, they never said an estimated wait time. They acted annoyed we were there. They had 3 clients in the chairs that looked about done when we arrived and we still waited 25 minutes. Finally had enough and walked out. I will never go back. Don't get me wrong, this shop is the best in town - great service, friendly staff, extraordinary cuts. However, I am tired of the HOURS of wait time. My son walks to this shop from our house and has tried ALL hours of the day and days of the week - including waking up before the sunrise and going 20-30 minutes before opening only to be 10th in line (relying on the order based on the first person who gets there and in our case didn't have a clue who was first, second....). We don't have all day on a Saturday to wait - or any day! It's almost as if you have to start fighting for an appointment a week after your haircut because who knows when you'll be seen next. I would appreciate it if they'd start taking appointments!!!!!!! You won't lose clients, you will make them happier. This is getting ridiculous and we are not doing it anymore! read more

I have used Barger Drive Barber Shop for several years and have been really happy with them. It appears there has been some changes in management and the last two times I visited I did not get the cut I'm used too. Been coming here since 2014. Moved from HAWAII and looked for the best place to get a fade and lined up. Went to a lot of places and stumbled here one day, since then I haven't gone anywhere else. I now take my kids here. The only thing I would change is sometimes the music has quite a bit of swearing and isn't appropriate for a 5 yr old. read more

These guys are great! Marcus and Brian cut my boy's hair all the time. I wont take them anywhere else. EVERYONE always asks where they get their hair cut they look so good. Then after three weeks I got a message saying I had a appointment, I called and cancel but on the day of the appointment I got a call from a barber yelling at me for missing my appointment (Marcus) this was very rude I didn't like this. read more

They do really nice hair cuts. I use to see original owner/barber all time. He was so friendly, however he moved on because of his personal situations. New owners really take time to ensure that hair cut is good. But man, waiting time there simply kills you. That is same situation on weekdays and weekends. One really need to have couple of hours free to go there, get hair cut. Plus they raised prices quite drastically. Soon they took over, increased to 12 and then in no time, raised to 15. Today, waited for 30 minutes. They had 3 barbers still working on exisitng one. When asked if i can be done in next 15-20 minutes, he said no. So basically they are taking close to an hr on each client. This is good but if you really want business, get more chairs. People cannot afford to have multiple hours over weekdays free just for hair cut. So unless i don't have any other choice, not going to go back there. read more
