I first started attending The Bar Method the end of January and I have so many things to say…read more Barre is a workout that is low-impact, high-intensity inspired by ballet, yoga, and Pilates. You build muscular endurance and strength through small, controlled movements and high repetitions The Bar Method Fresno offers a few types of classes from what I've seen: Bar Method, Bar Method Express, Bar Method Cardio Express, & Bar Strength Express. I signed up as a first time client with an intro offer they had going. $78 for 13 classes. I typically take the regular Bar Method or Bar Method express classes. Love the environment. The cues are extremely helpful and clear and all the instructors have been knowledgeable and correct you without making you feel so singled out. If you need child care they do offer child care during classes so definitely ask about that. All in all if you're looking to switch things up and open to taking a workout class I'd definitely recommend.

Because of my work schedule, I rarely make anything but the weekday lunchtime classes at 12noon which are the Express classes. I personally prefer the hour long, slower paced classes, but work prevents me from attending those. I've noticed that other than a few teachers, many start late and go later than 45 mins during the week, which is a challenge for many. I see as many as 50% of the class students leave to get back to work before class is finished. This could be handled I think if all classes started and ended on time? Cat seems to be on time every class I have taken. For my experience as a 62 year old overweight woman with multiple past injuries, my needs are different than probably someone who is 20-50 years old. That said, for my purposes, Cat has been the most proactive in helping me get acclimated, helping me with workout modifications and if something is hurting, helping me work around it. Today, I told her I had hurt myself in another class and she showed me a modification that really helped and prevented more pain. I got my on time 45 mins workout and was home on time. I will mention some of the benefits of the other teachers: Lisa - the hardest classes by far. She will straight up tell you this is going to be hard and it's going to be 50+ minutes instead of 45 mins. BELIEVE HER! Fine for a Saturday which is the only time I have had to take her class. Marissa - she was filling in I guess on Labor Day Weekend and I found her class very challenging but well balanced. Lauren - is recently back from maternity leave. Her classes last week were super full! I really love her music selections. Harmony - I have always had a good class with Harmony but I rarely see her during the week, maybe she teaches earlier most days? All in all, I had been prevented from doing my weekly gym workouts from an injury. Getting back into it and seeing all my clothes fit easily again is worth every penny and my dedication to going at least 3x a week and I probably should go 4x a week, but for a monthly membership of $170 it works out to about $13 a class which is very economical. ~ Ms. Ali

I took a class yesterday with Joni(?), and it was challenging, but felt so good. With the kettlebells, you're really working the posterior chain, and I can already feel a difference in strength in my hamstrings, glutes, and lower back extensors; my back feels strengthened and the frequency of my low back pain has surely decreased. I'm loving the 5:45 class, as I can get back home after work to change, and head to a workout. I never feel like going after work, but am always so glad I did. Ended up doing a class yesterday and burned 614 calories (529 active calories) in 45 minutes. Felt deflated, but so accomplished after a good workout.

I attended my first FitnessSocial KB workout shortly after purchasing a one month pass for my sister in September 2023. She fell in love with this gym and the great people there and has been attending ever since. I have taken a few classes and attended their special events. When she started leading a KB/TRX workout on Monday nights in November I have begun attending weekly or twice weekly. This is really a nice gym, clean, organized and everyone is friendly. The classes are not crowded and you receive individulized instruction and positive encouragement during each class. They offer more than just KB and TRX and host lots of great events. I'm not here to tear the gym apart or leave a bad review because I'm disgruntled like most of the…read morereviewers. This is just a pure honest review for the owners to take into consideration and use to improve their gym. Everyone likes or dislikes something about every gym. I tried X Factor with their day pass (costs $10 - I can understand the fee, no big deal). The gym is small and quaint, and wasn't too busy (although I went at an off day and time). It feels a little out of order, I can see they did try to fit a LOT of stuff in there which makes it feel cramped even without a lot of people active. The equipment is pretty worn down, torn pads, weight labels wore down or missing completely, and the two treadmills I tried definitely needed some maintenance (belts felt loose and made funny noises). The real kinda "issue" I had was maybe more of a personal preference one. The music being played on the gym speakers was Christian praise and worship music. I get if you're a religious business owner and you, as the owner, get to choose what you play at your establishment. I have headphones so it wasn't a big deal. However, there are people who can't use or don't like headphones, and I feel a more neutral and up beat music for everyone would definitely be a better fit for a gym where people are trying to be energetic and get a good pump in. Praise and worship music doesn't really hit the spot in my opinion. I liked that they had spray bottles and wipe down towels up front for everyone, and the gym itself felt pretty accepting. Some gyms have a lot of rude meat heads that state you down, or make it uncomfortable. That wasn't the vibe here. Overall I give it a 3/5, one star knocked for playing slow tempo religious music, and one star knocked for very worn out equipment. Hope the owners can use this honest review to make some improvements and don't take it as a bashing. Definitely not my intention.
