This is a great spot for a drink and to hang out. My husband and I love coming here because it's close to home, open late, they have great drinks, great service, billiards, and it's not too loud that you can't hear each other talking! So glad there is a space like this near Allen/McKinney because there is a big lack of night life. The bar area isn't huge, but we never find it to be too over crowded. There is also plenty of extra seating, so you order a drink or food and sit elsewhere besides the bar. They have 4 pool tables which is a fun addition, and you just have to go to the bar to get supplies. This bar is located right before you go into the theatre part of IPIC. You don't have to pay to get in, no cover, you could just sit, play pool and hang out with friends! The service is always great. The staff makes excellent drinks and is very knowledgeable about the menu, and helpful to new comers. This is my first time in this type of theater/movie food place. I would normally not go to this type of place, the whole concept seems strange to me, but was here due to a company get together/team outing. The area is huge at this place, and noisy, the food is ok nothing special, the drinks were not the best, the bartender was nice, her drinks were just ok, it was fun to play some pool, some darts or other gaming options would have been nice. At the VIP seating section the seats were soft snd plush with a good pillow and a very necessary blanket, I just had popcorn and water while watching the movie, the attendant was prompt and courteous. The area was very cold hence the need for the blanket. My only bad mark was the noise from the people in the bar and gaming area could be heard in the movie area, and more if the door was opened. Would I come on my own? Probably not, not my type of place and was not impressed. read more

The 1 Star is for the clean bathrooms. Went here to watch a game, enjoy some drinks and try the food out. Wish we could have done this. When we arrived we asked if a tv could be turned to a game. The bartender said he'd have to ask a manager to do it. The manager was standing right there for about 10 mins and then left. The bartender then told us the manager had to help a waitress so it would be a minute before the tv could be changed. The manager never returned. We were never asked if we wanted to order. The bartender had a couple of friends that they were enjoying watching videos on their phones together. We finally left and checked out a place next door. Very surprised by the lack of service at such a not so cheap place. Sad their service was so bad but I guess when management doesn't care I can see why the bartender didn't either. read more

My favorite appetizer has always been the Buffalo Spring roll: a perfect fusion of Asian and the beloved American Buffalo Chicken. They also have a season cocktail that is super flavorful. Right now, I'm loving their shaker passion fruit ginger sangria. A perfect refreshing drink for the summer. Salt Sport Bar is actually inside iPic Theaters. There are enough screens to show most of the games that are on, but I honestly would prefer more. There are several pool tables and plenty of stools and couches. The beer on tap is limited, but it reaches across the spectrum from light beer to IPAs. They even have some cider on tap. Not bad. They have some unique cocktails as well, but they are priced pretty high. Definitely a good place to hang out before the movie, but I don't know if I would ever come here for just the bar. There are other spots close by that are just as good, if not better, than Salt. If you're grading this place in a vacuum Salt is not that great of a bar. But if you're planning to watch a movie at iPic and have nothing better to do this is a decent place to hold you over until showtime. read more

My husband and I love this place! It's inside iPic, but it is our bar of choice! We will go two hours or more before a movie to just relax at the bar, enjoy ourselves, talk to the bar tenders, and have some drinks. Then we will go to our movie and after the movie we will usually come back out to the bar for another hour or so. The atmosphere is fantastic and beautiful and the bar tenders are honestly some of the best I have ever had. The Salt Margarita is the best margarita on rocks I have ever had. They squeeze an uncountable amount of fresh limes straight into it and whatever else's is in there is awesome! I'm pregnant now so when we go up there I just tell them to make me something fruity or make a drink virgin and they always to an amazing job of it! Terrible service at the bar. I ordered an apple cider and the bartender looked at me like I had glue on my face or something. After I finished it I wanted to order another drink so I took out my credit card and waited. There was a couple sitting next to me eating, and the bartender walked over and asked them if they needed anything else. He didn't say anything to me but I noticed that he was checking them out so I figured he would get to me after that. He gave them their bill and exchanged pleasantries and then walked off. Several minutes later another bartender came around, and again went to the couple that was finishing their meal and asked them if they needed anything, walking right past me. Then she walked off. When she came back around I stuck my credit card on my forehead to get her attention. By then my husband was back from the restroom and knew that I was starting to get irritated. She was going to walk off again without asking me anything so I shouted across the bar that I would like another drink. I am perfectly capable of speaking up when I want something, but I have read and been told by friends who are bartenders that they appreciate their patrons being patient and that they are aware of who needs help and will get to them swiftly. However, when you walked right in front of me in doubt ask if I need anything but ask the people sitting right next to me if they need anything, that is rude and insulting. I love the drinks at this place, but I won't be back after this experience. read more

Salt Bar is a pretty cool hang out spot! It's located inside the iPic Movie Theater, upstairs. The service is friendly and the drinks are strong! My drink of choice was the Illegalito, it tasted like a cross between a mojito and a pina colada. Perfection. The place is clean and well-kept. A great place for happy hour or a drink before the movie. I also saw some flyers on the tables about their game day specials, looks like some pretty good deals! I'm a little upset at myself for not discovering this place sooner.. I only live about 10 minutes away. All those illegalitos I've been missing out on should be illegal. Infuse Me Baby! I don't know if this is appropriate thing to say but, Ipic has put the fun back into drinking! They have a new infusion machine that looks like something from a wacky, high end laboratory. The machine takes any random ingredient and infuses the flavor of said ingredient into alcohol. The results are imaginative and delicious! They have had a Reese's Puff infused drink, a Peanut Caramel concoction over frozen Coke ice cubes, and a Cucumber infused Gin Mule- the taste and presentation-amaaazzzzing! The drinks are fantastic, but more than the drinks is the people making and serving the drinks; in particular Mackenzie and Yancey. I call them the dynamic duo; they are fun, personable, hardworking, and not at all bad to look at- heaven help us if Yancey lets down his infamous "man bun!" I guarantee you'll love the drinks, dig the atmosphere, and will enjoy the view. read more

I like to frequent this place. The bartenders are really good at what they do. My favorite drink is hands down the spamapolitan. (you got to try it if you have a sweet tooth! ) I come here often to play pool because I appreciate they don't charge an hourly fee for the pool tables. It's pretty chill and great to relax and enjoy the place. I wish they put a time limit on the tables and let you recheck them out. I've often come here wanting to play and not seeing anyone using the tables but the cue balls are "checked out " so what can I do? (Please don't check out the tables :( if you aren't going to use them! rude.. ) I love their promotions they have for the games. This is only our second time here. First visit we get the membership and just buy Premium. Waiting to buy popcorn they decide to mobe us to Premium plus randomly. This visit being our second, we decide to get a little bite to eat and a couple of beverages before our 10:30 Jigsaw show. Haley M. was very sweet and knowledgable and greeted us with a smile. I love the feel of this place and the fact that's it's no so cramped with people all in your space. I ordered the Salt margarita which by accident was given the house Rita which was ok not bad but not great. The waitress came over to give me another margarita which was the actual Salt margarita and noted their mistake. I appreciate that kind of service as most places would have let me drink and pay top dollar for the wrong drink. The Salt margarita was way too sweet to drink so I gave it to my husband who will drink anything. The only down I could find would be a better beer selection. read more

Not to be a "stereotypical girl" or anything, but I am not a sports fan. However, somehow I wound up dating the biggest sports fanatic you have ever seen and have been spending my nights getting drug around from sport's bar to sports bar. However, I have to say that I don't mind getting drug to Salt at all! It is the perfect mix of glam and gourmet mixed in a good ol' sports bar! I feel like I am at a 5 star club sipping on any of their amazing cocktails, (my favorite is their Angelina, because what girl doesn't feel sexy drinking infused champagne) and my guy feels like he is at home drinking a beer and yelling at the TV with his friends! On top of the amazing atmosphere and wonderful drink specials, their food is also to die for and only further shows their perfect mix of gourmet sports bar! While I can munch on a healthier Portobella Burger, he can stuff his face with a burger and feel good about where we are eating! If you haven't guessed yet, I give Salt 4 Stars and can't wait to keep getting "drug" back here to watch another game! read more

honestly i created a yelp account this morning solely to write this review.I saw all the good star ratings and figured i found a new spot to play pool get some food an drinks. I live like 5 minutes down the road, and I came to play pool primarily since it is free, but while I was there I was hungry and ordered food and a couple beers. Service was kind of slow for the amount of people at the bar, but not a huge deal. I ordered a grilled chx Cesar salad which was $12, and not only was it absolutely disgusting I did not like the way it was presented/served at all. It comes on a rectangular plate, and had 6 skimpy romaine lettuce leaves that were filled with cesar dressing, some chopped up chicken, and croutons. I had to cut it up and what not myself, not a HUGE deal, but I didn't like it. When the waitress brought it out to me she must have saw my facial expression because she asked me if it looked alright and I told her no it actually doesn't, she told me "well next time you come you know to tell them to chop it up for you". That kind of irritated me. The only reason I am giving this place 2 stars is because my bartender must of saw my face of disgust while eating it and asked if everything was okay, I told her it was disgusting and she let order something else, I got the sliders thinking that would be a safe bet, but boy was I wrong. The sliders were absolutely horrendous. They tasted like they were 4 month old meat patties that were frozen then microwaved. The bun tasted good that was about it. She asked me if it was better, and I just told her it was fine because I already felt bad about sending back the salad, im not one to send back food. I don't want them to spit on it LOL. Their tap beers were kind of warm too. I will NOT be going back for pool, beers, or their way over priced food (3 sliders ONLY were $15). movies aside...........beautiful, spacious, comfortable, upscale bar, very attractive for young as well as more mature adults. drinks beyond overpriced 20$ w/tip for two Bacardi/coke/lime. musical selection obnoxious 'house thump', not in keeping w/the upscale vibe of the decor. this bar could be so much more, and the area around Allen/Fairview/McKinney really needs it. the demographic is there, but has nowhere 'classy' to go, that's not a loud obnoxious meat market, or sports bar. if mgmt had done their marketing homework, they'd be aware they're missing out on an opportunity to fill an underserved niche, and expand on their concept of upscale entertainment offering an even more unique service/experience not to be found w/in 30 sq. miles. it could offer theme music nights, jazz, latin, classic rock and pull in diverse, upscale mature clientele looking for a nice place to dance, relax and converse over drinks/grill offerings CLOSE TO HOME, and would also be attractive to the families who come for movies. digging through yelp, it's either downtown Dallas, Richardson or Addison. people don't want to drive 30miles around the Metroplex for a laid back good time. i-Pic is missing out on a lucrative market segment and should rethink their marketing plan for the bar, and lastly....... stop gouging patrons w/the drink prices. thx.. i might be back. read more

Today was the first time of me going to the ipic and honestly I have mixed feelings about it. I decided to take my mom and I spent about 40 dollars on our tickets for the premium plus. We went earlier so we could eat before our 10:40 showing. I saw plenty of waiters go by but no one asked us for help or asked if we needed anything. So we went up the little concession area but was directed to the bar for food. So we sat down and again was ignored by everyone walking by. Finally someone asked if we needed anything, so we went ahead and ordered. Our food was ok however my moms order was wrong and I had to ask for ketchup at least 3 times. We also had two ladies across from us that we're repeating what they wanted and one of the bartender who looked mad as soon as we sat down rudely told them no. The receipt that our waitress left was wrong so we again had to wait on our waitress to take care of that and sense it was wrong earlier our waitress gave us free dessert which I'm not complaining about. After entering the place to watch our movie I loved it. Very comfortable and our waiter in that area was very nice and I honestly wish I could've gotten his name. I would never want to eat at the bar again but I wouldn't mind going again if the customer service was better. I just want to get what I paid for. read more
