Enjoyed our stay at the Bantham tea room! Easy checkin although a minor hiccup from the staff not knowing we needed an extra cot in the room. Took some time to set up the bed but issue resolved immediately. We booked the Pekin room on the upstairs floor that faced the main road. There was some traffic noise but wasn't too bad. The bedroom consists of 1 double and 1 twin. Comfortably housed our family of 4 with the extra cot. Heating worked tremendously well. This bedroom is the only one with tub/shower. Very clean bedroom/bathroom with nice water pressure. Breakfast was made to order, simple and good but only served from 8:30-9:30am. Free parking in the back or free overnight street parking. Dinner at don Luigi's next door was good but small portions. Would highly recommend this b&b!

Located conveniently at the heart of Chipping Campden, the Bantam had a very lovely atmosphere; very reasonably priced, and had lovely food which we recommend. Staffs were friendly, and was just overall a relaxing joint to catch your breath while touring!

On a brief stop, our hungry little tour group set about to find a place for lunch. Our hungry little group descends upon this place. Were we glad we found this cozy little cafe. warm and comfortable on a rainy July day, we are seated and find a busy little crowd seating in the one dining room. A Cotswold Lager was served cold. Our homemade soups were excellent.

Have only stopped here for tea and coffee with a light cake/toasted tea-cake which were fine. The problem lies with the service which is 'standard laid-back English' - they don't seem very worried about serving you, which they probably aren't as they must be over-run during the high season in this popular tourist spot. Would be nice to be greeted with enthusiasm though......

We stopped in for tea and scones. Great service and atmosphere. The scones were the best I had on my trip.

We were sat upstairs near the window and it was nice and quiet there. Everything we ordered was delicious and we enjoyed our time here. Scone with cream and jam. I ordered plain scone. It was delicious. Warm fresh scone served with yummy cream and jam. I also ordered the chocolate cake tea with the scone and it was surprisingly good. Had some chocolate flavor and tasted good with milk. Hubby ordered Mac and cheese and it was served piping hot with a slice of garlic bread. Pretty good too! Kiddo ordered hot chocolate with marshmallows and a chocolate cake. The cake itself was soft and moist and not overly sweet. Went well with the tea and hot chocolate. The hot chocolate seemed standard and she seemed to like it. The place is not overly pricey for a touristy place. Service was also good and friendly.

The jam and cream were significantly superior to others I've had. There was also a wide selection of tea and some really funky and interesting ones as well! If I travel to the Cotswold again, I will surely be visiting Lucy's tearoom. The vibe was also cozy and welcoming. The service was a little slower but probably because we were seated on the second floor.

With a recommendation from not one but two guidebooks, you'd think it'd at least be decent, but…read moreinstead, it was deceptive and disappointing. They mark everything as homemade, but whose home since there's no oven on the premises and nothing is baked there? I wanted a really authentic experience for a pastry calorie bomb, but instead, got mediocre supermarket grade snacks at a premium. I was appalled when the cabinet I was sitting next to popped open and I saw Eccles cake--the same as what was plated in a Saran-wrapped plate right on the sideboard above the cabinet--individually wrapped in manufactured plastic packaging, and TESCO SUPERMARKET BRAND chocolate chip cookies also neatly stacked in mass production packaging. But on the other hand, I guess it's pretty authentic since locals eat it? Further souring the experience was when I asked where the scones were actually from and I found out the bakery the server said did not even exist, which felt very dishonest. Also, the scone was microwaved and had a spongy, mass-produced American biscuit taste to it (think KFC with raisins). They had no idea what type of cheese was even in the sandwiches, either. The cakes are supposedly locally sourced, but at this point, I find it difficult to believe anything said. The jams they sell up front are not what they use in the food, either. The food wasn't really awful, but save your money and get the real deal elsewhere. You're paying for the ambiance, but not much more, but Broadway is a bit of a Cotswold tourist trap, it seems. So sad I went out of my way to come here. Biggest disappointment during my whole trip.
