Sundays are never the most exciting day of the week, so it's on these days, we decide to take ourselves off somewhere new for Sunday lunch.
A couple of weeks ago, we decided to go to the Ballymac, after hearing someone mention it the day previously. It is a hotel, and certainly looks impressive, and at times, opulent, both from the inside and out.
In we went, to the restaurant/grill bar, and were shown to our seat. There was a good crowd there, mostly families with children out to enjoy their Sunday treat.
We received our menus and had a look, after making our drink orders (if you order a soft drink, it's from a mixer bottle, one of my bugbears, if you have read any of my other reviews!)
The menu: Nothing very adventurous on here, just your standard burgers, steaks, roast dinners and suchlike. I decided to go for the prawn open sandwich, while my partner went for the steak (as
usual!)
The food arrived promptly, and while it was nice enough, it was nothing unbelievably special. That said, I would certainly be happy enough to eat here again, maybe I'll just order something different next time! read more
