Dr. Laura is amazing! She was recommended to me by a friend for back pain. She is friendly and knowledgeable. She asked relevant questions about the pain I experience and then she jumped right in there with various chiropractic techniques. I left with reduced tension and pain and some recommendations for ongoing care. This is office is also in a great location. There's free two hour parking right outside so I took a little walk by the beach after visiting Balanced Bear. Definitely recommend for top notch self care. read more

The Balanced Bear - My lower back pain is finally gone! - Chiropractors Near Me - San Diego, California

Dr. Laura is a MEDICAL MIRACLE WORKER... I just had my first visit yesterday for a painful back strain that felt just as bad five days later. I had avoided seeing a chiropractor for a decade after discovering I have mild scoliosis, since I didn't want to know how severe things had gotten after slouching over a computer everyday since.. plus sitting up straight all day hurts! Dr. Laura is AMAZING!!! She made me feel SO much better and explained the science every step of the way. After cupping, tapping, spinal alignment, adjustments and a theragun massage, I woke up today with NO PAIN whatsoever.. my back strain is 100% gone.. blown away! She also made me feel SO much better about my scoliosis, and I am actually not totally screwed and will likely be just fine into old age with the right strength training routine :) which will also alleviate the pain I feel from trying to sit up straight all day. I am so excited to start following her guidelines, and this chiropractor is extremely empathetic, very honest (if she doesn't see a need to come back in a bunch she will happily tell you so), deeply passionate about helping patients live their best lives, an incredibly good listener, and fully committed to staying on top of all the science and explaining it to patients in an easy-to-understand way. Plus, her office is adorable and impeccably decorated.. which I appreciate! If I could, I'd give her a million stars!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! read more

Dr. Laura saved my vacation;) A pesky joint that flares up every so often decided to do so while we were staying in OB. Thank the gods for Yelp and an amazing local chiropractor in Dr. Laura. Similar to our beloved chiro back home, she is a big believer in muscle release before making an adjustment. Well over half the treatment was stretching, massaging and cupping the hotspot before she worked the kinks out with adjustments. OB, you are lucky to have her in your community;) Thank you Dr. Laura, Namasté~ read more

Dr Laura was great. I've been dealing with back pain for 8 years now and she was easily one of the most knowledgeable providers I've ever been to. I know what my back issues are and she was able to spot them immediately without my prompting. Wide range of services as well - this isn't your standard in and out, crack your back, see you next week place. She actually cares about long term improvement, not her bottom line. You won't regret giving her a try. Plus I like Bears. read more

I trust Dr. Laura so much! I have been to several other chiropractors in San Diego and Dr. Laura is by far the most knowledgeable and trustworthy. The best and comfortable place. Dr Laura is very helpful. She adjusted my back really good.

I have received adjustments from Dr. Laura off and on over the past several years as needed for headaches, stress, and overall wellbeing. She has always presented herself as down to earth yet highly professional and educated in her field. You can tell she cares about each of her clients by the way she explains not only what she is doing during the adjustments but why it will be helpful/the benefits. I've also appreciated the nutrition expertise and advice she gives to help with my various issues. If you're looking for a chiropractor who is competent and effective, is passionate about the work, and genuinely loves people then look no further. Dr. Laura will be a great investment into the future of your health! read more

I LOVE Dr. Laura!! I have dealt with back pain on and off for about 10 years now. I'll visit the Chiro only when pain comes back so it's been awhile. The first chiropractor I went to was a little too rough to the point of my being in constant discomfort for he first couple weeks until the pain subsided into feeling much better for a couple years. The 2nd chiropractor I went to didnt do much by way of "expert adjustments", in my opinion, though his contraptions that he used def helped me for about a year. I decided to give Dr. Laura a try as we met through friends and I wasn't too impressed with my last Chiro. I'll admit I was a little nervous before meeting with her as I always am when trying a new person for a service that's important for my health and well-being. I'm also in my 2nd trimester of pregnancy so, of course, I'm hyper aware of anything I do to my body and it's even more important to me that I'm well taken care of for the sake of my growing baby. So... The best parts of my experience that may help you in your decision to use Dr.Laura: - if you are pregnant, you will feel very well taken care of and feel that she has taken every precaution to keep your baby in mind! I was pleasantly surprised with the knowledge she has regarding Chiro work during pregnancy! She even had a pillow to support my growing tummy! - muscle work is involved that feels AMAZING! In my last two experiences, I never had a Chiro also massage the affected areas to help me relax. With the pregnancy has come sciatica in BOTH legs and, in only two visits, the muscle work alone has been quite the lifesaver! - even with some good cracking, I'm not in pain the next day like I was with the 1st Chiro I've visited. Sore, sure. But, not to the point that it is affecting my work or anything. - she's inexpensive. I'd DEF pay more for her services. I receive better care, attention and professionalism from her than I have in the past while paying twice as much. I rarely give 5 stars - The Balanced Bear deserves 6!!! read more

Wow, Dr. Laura is so great and so personable!!! I am a long-time runner, and have had problems with my hips and back mostly all of my athletic life. Dr. Laura thoroughly examined my back, hips, shoulders, neck, etc to see where my problem areas and asymmetries were (and I have a LOT). She was very patient, and even suggested we try cupping (can't wait to see if it made a difference) and also gave me suggestions for stretches at home. She is extremely thorough and friendly! If you need a chiropractor in OB, I would definitely recommend her! And, she's close to the beach! read more

I wish I could give Laura 6 stars. She is absolutely amazing. I had never been to a chiropractor before, and I saw The Balanced Bear in the SDBJ one day (Dr. Laura had received an award for her excellence as a young entrepreneur). After reading through her website, I knew I'd be in the right space to get adjusted. She has become a good friend and I will always go back to her. For Christmas I bought my sister in law a new client's appointment gift card, and Laura was kind enough to make a gift card specially for me. Appointments are easy to come by and you can do it all online. read more

Look no more ! Laura is the best most nurturing chiropractor! I had never been to a chiropractor in my life and frankly I was scared of the quick cracking. But one day my hip hurt with shooting pains all along the side of my back. I was miserable! I went to Laura and she was so informative as she was working on me. She reassured me every step of the way. She had explained to me that my hip was un aligned. With her technique she corrected the problem and I swear to this day I haven't had ANY issues. I would highly recommend her to you ! read more

Dr Laura is absolutely amazing. I have had back problems for a number of years from previous car accidents and from years in my career. I've been to a few chiropractors, I've done manipulation, and been through physical therapy. Dr. Laura is by far the best doctor I have seen. She really cares and is concerned about my health. I've been going to her now once a week and it is making a huge difference. She is the best! I've been referring people anytime they say they are having an issue. read more

Dr. Laura has an incredible ability and understanding of how to heal the human body. Her practice is so much more than your run of the mill chiro, as she incorporates cupping and ART (active release therapy), which in my opinion is a game changer. To top it off, she is just a genuinely lovely person with great empathy and compassion for everyone she sees. A++! Very grateful to have found her in OB. read more

Laura was the first chiropractor I ever went to. I had been having terrible headaches and couldn't find anything that would help. She explained everything to me as she was adjusting me and left me feeling informed. Even better, I finally got some relief from my headaches! I continued to get adjustments from her for the next two years she was in Texas. She was always kind and professional and never made me feel pressured to buy supplements, make more appointments, etc. I've yet to find another chiropractor as effective and people oriented as she. read more

Dr. Laura has been an amazing chiropractor. I have been going to Dr. Laura for the past year. I used to get frequent colds, muscle pain, and due to long hours sitting in front of a computer I have fallen out of alignment. Each adjustment I've had with Laura has made me feel rejuvenated, lighter, and pain-free. I have had other chiropractors adjust me and I can say, without bias, that Laura gives the perfect adjustment! I have not had as much as a cold in over a year. I have also learned a lot about health and wellness through Laura. She truly cares about each and every one of her patients. Highly recommend! read more

Dr Laura is amazing. I have been to many chiropractors over the years and she is hands down the best. Not only is she affordable, but she includes so much for the price. Most chiropractors want you in and out ASAP to fit in as many people as possible, but Dr. Laura really spends the time to heal you. On your first visit, she talks to you for a while to get to know your history and the root of the problem. Then without x-rays will examine you to know exactly the treatment you need to feel better. I also love her practice because the other chiropractors I've seen told me I had to come in 3 times a week and a year later I had no change in my x-rays. Dr. Laura lets me come in when I feel like I need it. It's also super easy to schedule with her by text. Before she even adjusts my spine, she feels around and does some light massaging where I need it, she always knows exactly where my problem areas are, without me telling her. She does cupping on me, and also uses a machine that I don't know the name of but it feels like a massage. Then she will do the adjustments. It's definitely worth the money and I always feel so much better after seeing her. read more

Dr. Laura has been a great asset to me over the last year. I have had pretty bad headaches and migraines throughout my life and luckily, upon talking with Dr. Laura, she has been able to adjust me from time-to-time to help with the pain. I also had my very first cupping session with her a few months back and she was very good at explaining the process and what to expect. I'd highly recommend her to anyone looking for a great chiropractic who really believes in her practice and enjoys her clients. read more

I had never gotten an adjustment before and was afraid of the cracking and affect it would have on my body. I went to Dr. Laura because I heard that she makes you feel very comfortable and does a fantastic job. Boy, was that right!! Not only did she take away the pains in my back, but she gave me different stretches and exercises to do in the meantime. I was so grateful since I was in such pain. Additionally, Dr. Laura took me in last minute and moved around her schedule so I could see her the next morning. She has a very personal approach to her work and seemed very knowledgeable about the body. Her friendly attitude and level of professionalism was impressive. I would highly recommend her and will be coming back for more!! Thanks Dr. Laura! read more

Dr. Laura singlehandedly help me recover from an injury and got me back into form to run my first marathon in June. After being very discouraged after seeing a few doctors who could not help with the problem, Dr. Laura gave me a few adjustments, acupuncture, and other preventative measures in order to help me be as pain free as possible. I wouldn't trust anyone else, Dr. Laura knows her stuff and has a great individual style to go with it. I definitely will be back! read more
