    Sesame with veggie cream cheese
    Cassy B.

I'm from north jersey so I know my bagels, this spot is pretty average for a good doughy crunchy bagel. My boyfriend and I got here around lunchtime and got two bagels. We got a Taylor ham egg and cheese and a sesame with veggie cream cheese. Both were a bit underwhelming. The amount of cream cheese on my bagel was almost non existent, definitely wished there was more. Though I will say that the veggie cream cheese itself had a great flavor. The good thing about these sandwiches is that they're small and not too overfilling so it's not a bad idea to bring to the beach. Though I'd probably go with a different choice myself. I'll probably be back because my boyfriend loves this place and I think I'll try some of their Mexican specials instead. The staff was very friendly and everything was out quick.

The Bagel Shack is a happening place. I presume for the traditional style NY bagels they offer. They have a nice selection for such a small shop. I had the everything bagel toasted with cream cheese. I liked the bagel but I prefer my bagel shop back here. It is a bit on the doughier side but gets the job done. The iced coffee was just ok. I would try their other drinks next time. There are a few pastries for sale and tons of sandwiches and lunch fare. Next stop to the beach we will try a few more.

Cute spot that was recommended by locals. They offer all the staple bagels and cream cheese options in addition to strawberry and olive cream cheese. I stopped by close to closing time and was happy that there were still bagels available. Ordered the everything bagel with olive cream cheese - which was delicious and just what I was looking for. Service was friendly and quick.

    Avocado Toast

$10 avocado toast lol. Yuck. The picture speaks for itself... this honestly shouldn't even be on the menu.

Picked up bagels here and it was fantastic. I made myself a lox bagel with the everything bagel. Yummy.

Great bagels. Tiny inside. If you are willing to wait in a huge line, it's worth it. I suggest order online and pickup on the right side.

Rude employees. Accidentally put salt in my coffee and they, thinking I couldn't hear, made fun of me for it behind the counter.

Nice atmosphere . People were nice. I had 1 bagel. More like a roll. There is no place in Poconos to get a decent bagel. Will try again.

Great Bagels! Soft on the inside with a slight crunch on the outside. Number one bagel on Long Beach island.

Good bagel sandwiches however tend to be a little cream cheese heavy. But always a solid choice for summer mornings in LBI.

The young man who was our server was very friendly and helpful. The decor was seaside diner. Ordered at our table...a large western style omelette, fluffy and full of the extras, a French Toast egg sandwich (clean plate club), a plate with a pancake, over easy eggs, home fries and toast, all cooked perfectly. I had the triple decker grilled cheese with bacon and tomato (I think it was called the Happy Waitress), so good, bacon perfect. Recommended!

The flavors were a little bland and the chicken was cut too thick, which made it less enjoyable to eat. The home fries that came with it were also disappointing -- they seemed reheated rather than freshly made, and just didn't have that crisp, flavorful kick you hope for at a breakfast spot. My friends had different dishes, but their reactions were similar -- nothing terrible, but nothing memorable either. We all left feeling like the food was a little underwhelming overall. The bathroom was serviceable but not especially clean, and while the service was fine, it wasn't anything that stood out as particularly attentive or warm. On the positive side, the decor was pleasant and gave the place a nice atmosphere. Honestly, that was probably the highlight of the experience for me. If Yelp allowed half-star ratings, I'd give it a 3.5 just for the vibe. All in all, Chicken & Egg isn't a bad place, but it didn't really impress. With so many options around, it's not somewhere I'd rush back to, but I wouldn't call it a total miss either -- more middle of the road.

Spaghetti Beach Haven was tasty but light on the protein. 3 shrimp and the crab was an ounce at most. Really enjoyed the garlic toast! Good selection of draft beer. The service was friendly while the food came out fast. For a starter, a dozen oysters were ordered. The oyster on the day I attended were from Chincoteague. They were extremely large and came out well chilled. These were tasty and appeared very fresh. For an entrée, I had the grilled swordfish. It came with an avocado shrimp salad and haricot verts. There was also an herb butter present on the fish. The piece of fish was on the smaller end but cooked ideally. The flavor was alright. The butter was tasted, but not enough seasoning was present on the fish. It tasted a little bland. The two sides also lacked in quantity. The avocado shrimp was also just decent. I also tried a crab cake, which was rather large. Again, this was not bad. Three more items I tried were scallop risotto, coconut rice and the old beach haven spaghetti. Yet again, all three were okay, but the spaghetti definitely was the preferred choice. The scallops were not cooked the best and was plain too as well as the coconut rice. Will I go back? Possibly.

Weather has been crappy here all week so we were able to get a table immediately. I love that it's BYOB here both to save a little money and to bring wine we know we're going to love. We were seated at the same table as last year (odd coincidence) and started looking over the menu when they brought over an ice bucket for our wine (a nice Italian rosé). For appetizers my daughter and I both got a bowl (you heard me, a bowl) of the best clam chowder I've had on the Island, the rest of the crowd had wedge salads or house salads. I'm not exaggerating when I say it's the best clam chowder I've had here...not even close. This year I went with the seafood scampi special - shrimp, crab, and scallops over angel hair. Wifey had the stuffed shrimp special, my son had the salmon picatta, daughter had the shrimp pomodoro, and her fiancé had the grilled salmon. Five meals of perfection. Just the right serving size, excellent flavors, great service. Keep in mind they don't take reservations so on a normal night we would have waited. Also, limited parking so pay attention to the signs on the streets. This is a great place to eat, but it can get a little loud inside. 100% recommend! P.s. my son lost his ear buds here tonight, but when he called they had already found them and put them aside for him. We just stopped by on the way back from Bay Village and picked them up.
