Service was great... lady behind the counter was on top of it. Ordered the Mafioso Patty Melt and got a bottled coke also. They delivered my food to the table I was sitting at, and checked on me a couple of times to make sure I did not need anything... as mentioned, great service. Sandwich was COOKED... patty was well done. Sauce was minimal. Patty Melt was dry, and meh... would not order again. There was someone smoking a stinky cigar somewhere close... think it may be been somebody sitting in the bacon boss food truck which was nearby. That did not make for a pleasant experience. Saturday 9/14/2024 I was the krate area after finishing up an event at the nearby movie theatre and I wanted some food. I searched for the best food near me (on google & yelp) and this spot stood out so I went. I made a takeout order online for the mafioso burger $12, brisket Mac $13, and fries $4.29. Good thing I ordered ahead online because once I was there for pick up they had ran out of their Mac n cheese items. - the mafioso burger (aka patty melt) was solid but none crazy. My cousin got it as well and he really enjoyed it so there's that. - The brisket Mac was decent: the Mac n cheese itself was pretty mediocre but the addition of having the brisket,bacon, and their sweet heat bbq sauce was what made it. - The fries were average and the sauce that was with it was solid. Very tasty lunch! I had the signature Mafioso Patty Melt which is a bacon infused burger inside a grilled cheese topped with bacon, grilled onions, and house bbq mayo. This was very fun and yum! My only complaint was the burger patty itself was overworked so the patty was stiff if you know what I mean. My daughter wanted a plain hotdog which surprisingly they do NOT have on the kids menu (hello! Please add!) but I managed to manufacturer one by ordering a Mac n cheese dog with everything on the side (bacon and Mac) and adding ketchup mustard and pickles so she was happy. Stopped in on a Friday afternoon and I was extremely happy with my food. The Nicky Santoro Spicy Burger will definitely be one that I think about and crave regularly. I love mango + spice and I've never had that combo on a burger. It was well balanced and if the description/ingredients appeal to you, then you will definitely love this burger. The fries were pretty good, and they were made excellent with their house "fry sauce". My only complaint was that I didn't ask for extra of that sauce because it was everything I want in a fry sauce. Came here while passing through Wesley Chapel. Had heard about it and was in the mood for a burger. I got the Costelo burger and the wife got the John Gadhe burger. We got them as a combo which is the best way to go financially. The burger was good not great but good. I guess my biggest issue was the lack luster bacon. I like thick cut quality bacon. For those familiar to Bacon Boss from all those years in their food truck, I have news for you. They now have a physical location at the Krates at the Grove in Wesley Chapel. That's great news for those in Wesley Chapel. I can tell they definitely have a following!!! We tried Bacon Boss for the first time, and tried two diff burgers. We tried the John Gotti Burger where the bacon jam called my attention. We also tried the Vito Genovese Burger. The pastrami was what caught my attention. We also had their fries and onion rings. A meal deal includes the fries. Onion rings are a dollar extra and fries and drink is $4 more on top of the burger. Out of the two, John Gotti was my fave. Vito was pretty salty, but pastrami is naturally salty. When you walk in, you get a friendly hello from the cook and the one running the register. They are awesome and have memorable customer service. I ordered my food. Then I went across the Krates to Urban Sweets to get my dessert, and came back with my order ready to go. They have outside seating and inside bar seating. Great place for burgers at the Krates and next door is the hot dogs at TJ's. They also have parking right next to their Krates! Check them out. My son-in-law loves this food truck- so when we saw that they opened a location at the new Krate shopping center in Wesley Chapel- we were thrilled! We went for lunch, every had their assortment of bacon items- patty melts, burgers, bacon-chocolate chip cookies!!! The burger was phenomenal! And the bacon crispy, just the way I like it. The cookies are ah-mazing! I didn't care for the onion rings- too heavily battered, but the fries were great. They have dipping sauces that are also delicious. Can't go wrong! I just saw a picture of the mac-n-cheese topped with a ton of bacon and mentally drooled. Yelp merged this with the food truck business- but this is an actual location. They have picnic tables outside on the patio and you just go inside to order and grab your beverage. I had the John Gotti Bacon Jam Burger: A 1/3lb pound burger patty topped with Gouda cheese, homemade bacon jam, baby spring mix and garlic aioli. Served on a toasted Brioche bun and fries. Oh what a delicious burger, everything tasted great together. This place is one of the restaurants located at the Krate in the Grove. My husband and I stopped in on a rainy day right before closing. We ordered two 10 piece wings to go. Although they were closing the staff was so friendly and engaging. The wings were made fresh and even came with 2 sauce cups and a side of bacon (yum )! Our order only took about 10 minutes which we didn't mind at all because of the great conversation about music that we had while there. I had the pleasure on trying Bacon Boss at a food festival in St. Pete. Their staff was over the top friendly and they had so many choices to pick from. I myself am a huge bacon lover so everything looked so appetizing. I got my kids a cheeseburger that they loved. It had a nice crust from the grill and was so juicy when you bite into it. My wife and myself got the load tots. The Mac and cheese on top made it very filling and the bacon was cooked perfectly which added some nice texture. The Mafioso patty melt is life-changing. I can't recommend it highly enough. Seriously, just get it. It melts in your mouth, the flavors are balanced perfectly, and it has a deep, rich flavor that keeps on giving. Also the staff were super helpful. We wanted to eat out in the sun but the only table we could find was quite a ways away. My wife went to get it when it was time but couldn't carry everything so they carried the rest all the way to us. Then when we asked for another sauce and some napkins they went and got them both for us and brought those way out to us as well! I've wanted to try this place for a while as I've see their trucks around for years. I get inflation, but $40 for one hotdog, one burger, 2 bottles of soda, one mac n cheese tots and 1 side of fries. Beside the price, for my family this food was very bland. Nothing special for a $10 burger. For us it was a bland patty with no seasoning that relied heavily on the toppings (bacon, ham, and egg). Even with all those toppings it was still somehow bland. Strange bun choice too. Super soft and kinda sticky? Another $6.50 to add fries and a drink to that. The hotdog was good, but was a regular brat sized dog for $7. MAC n cheese tots was a small portion for $9 (the small to go containers).
