Tucked away in a quiet corner of Old Town Scottsdale, The Back Door Lounge is a nice little spot for drinks, good food and live music. There's a full bar, and drink prices aren't too crazy. They like to change the food menu up, but the pulled pork sliders and the bruschetta are both really tasty. They have live music every night and sometimes during the day on weekends, so it's not always the best spot for conversation, but the musicians they feature are great. They're closing soon so that the bar next door can move in (same owner), so check out Back Door while you can! read more

The Back Door Lounge has the same owners as the decades old, Old Town Tavern next door. It doesn't have the Western vibes and brick walls like the Old Town Tavern. However, it has the same passion for quality, local, live music. They are currently expanding the size of the lounge in anticipation of it becoming the new location of the Old Town Tavern. Hopefully the owners and the architect do a great job with creating the same feel of the original location. What was nice about the original Old Town Tavern is that it doesn't have the generic feel of most of the souless bars and clubs in the main entertainment district just North of this area. read more

The Back Door Lounge - Back Door Lounge soon to be the new Old Town Tavern location. Labor Day weekend. - Lounges Near Me - Scottsdale, Arizona

We had a very pleasant evening amongst friends in this place. This is fantastic corner in Old Scottsdale area to just relax and enjoy simple, tasty food and live music. Friendly service. The place is rather small with only few tables also on outdoor patio -- which actually makes this place great. I would definitely return here soon! read more

4.5 rounded up. Location is great. In old town but kind of off to the side, which makes it unique. Vibe is cool. Nice patio. Not stuffed with tables inside but instead has two lounge areas and a comfortable bar. Tons of liquor on the bar wall. I liked it. Would be cool at night too (I was there for lunch.) Nice, but not big, tv in the middle of the bar showing sports. We were attended to immediately and gave our orders. Burger sliders and Mac and cheese. Food came out quick and everything was delicious. My (grown) son is picky about his Mac and cheese and he said this was pretty good. I liked the burgers. Fresh tasting meat and good pickles. The kettle chips were as expected. Kettle cooked thick crispy potatoes chips. There was a small issue where I asked for something after the food came and the server forgot about me. This is where is half star was lost. But she was working hard and handling most/all of the tables and the bar on a busy Friday so I don't fault her much. We had constant water refills, and the food and check both came quickly. So really there was no problem at all. The prices were not bad for South Scottsdale bar fare. $13 for three sliders and chips. $6 Mac and cheese. read more

The Back Door Lounge - Tayler is amazing, thank you Back Door Lounge!!! - Lounges Near Me - Scottsdale, Arizona

This bar is nothing short of legendary. I don't know what kind of magic runs through the taps here, but I could tell it was special from the moment I walked in. But the real highlight? Tayler. She's not just a bartender--she's a mixologist, life coach, and comedian all rolled into one. All in all, this place is totes amazing. We'll absolutely be back, and it's 100% because Tayler is the GOAT. read more

First time there but definitely not the last! The place has a wonderfully cozy and chill atmosphere. The music was hitting pretty awesome! Tayler was our bartender...She was knowledgeable, absolutely wonderful, kind, and super efficient! The food...I had the pastrami sandwich!!! Phenomenal! I would, hands down, recommend this place, this bartender, and this food!!!! read more

Went there for a drink on a day off, was immediately approached to what I assumed was the manager stating that they didn't have any food there kitchen was shut down , to what I later found out was due to lack of supplies. Said I just came in for a drink and he ok and I went to the bar and ordered . He came back again stating they didn't have any food. I ordered another beer and was almost finished when the bartender came up to me and told me that I was going to have to cash out or order another beer. I immediately cashed out and felt that the management was unbelievably rude and unprepared. It was March in old town Scottsdale. read more

They serve an $18 Old Fashioned made with an $8 bottle of well blended whiskey. If you're going to charge the price, serve the appropriate bourbon. Obviously not worth the overpriced well liquor. read more

I had a girlfriend visiting from out of town and we decided to see what Old Town was all about. We knew we would find somewhere to eat, but had no idea where. So many places were so loud, it was just too much to talk and we were trying to catch up. When we saw The Back Door Lounge, off to the side, we decided to give it a shot. I'm so glad we did. Our server (I wish I knew his name) was fabulous and the food was spectacular. We ordered the pulled pork mac & cheese (not on the menu, so ask for it) and it was SPECTACULAR! I highly recommend it. My friend got one of the best grilled cheese sandwiches she'd ever had (and ate every crumb). I ordered and devoured the hot Italian sandwich, which was also excellent. Both came with chips. If you are in Old Town Scottsdale and looking for something off the beaten path, this is the place you should try. read more

Great drinks, service and music. Atmosphere is super cool. Tayler is awesome. Can't wait to head back!

Food is outstanding. Comedy show tonight 12/14 was horrendous. Paid $20 at the door and all we wanted was food. Show was supposed start at 6 but apparently due to sound issues, didn't start until 6:30. We asked for our $ back since we finished eating before the show started. Ended up staying for the host and two comedians, all of which were equally terrible. read more

Stopped in last Saturday for a quick bite to eat. They had just opened and there wasn't much of a crowd. Tayler their server was very pleasant and attentive. I ordered the toasted ravioli; tasted very good and just the right size. Will definitely be coming back again. It's a quick turn into the Scottsdale Mall off Brown Ave., and worth a try. read more

We stumbled upon this lounge while walking around old town Scottsdale. The menu is great, the drinks are strong. I had an espresso martini and that was VERY tasty. There is a dark sultry feel to the restaurant and would be great to go to for a date or girls night out. The service was also great, even with training a new employee. If I was local, I'd be coming back regularly. read more

Waited 30 minutes to order food. Left without ordering. Terrible service. We ordered drinks and were told we would be able to order in a few minutes. Our server was more concerned about closing other parties out without even taking our order first. read more

I came here on a Friday evening around 10 PM with my partner. We wanted a cocktail as we knew the Civic Center just opened and new businesses were to be explored. With this, we found The Back Door Lounge. The Lounge was very clean, quiet, and lit up. Right away we were offered menus which had light food, desserts, wine, and beer. My partner and I ordered cocktails (Old-Fashioned and a Manhattan), and they were excellent! 5/5 stars - New business and they deserve a chance as they make an excellent drink in a comfortable and clean lounge environment!! read more

Went for lunch today. Patio was great to sit and enjoy the sun that came out. That was about it. Oh and the music was good. Only one bartender on. Not too big of a deal but it was getting busy and he was looking a bit stressed. But the food. Ordered quesadilla with steak. Was the worst I ever had. No steak. Just couldnt eat it. My friend ordered steak sandwich and it was just okay but after getting halfway through it she found a hair. Not either one of ours. I mentioned to the server about having no steak in my quesadilla and he discounted. Didn't even mention the hair. Just wanted out of there. Table beside us ordered the same thing and left their meal. Very disappointed and strange seeing all the other reviews. Wouldn't recommend with so many other restaurants around. read more

So here's the thing , I come to Arizona every so often and one of ,y fav spots is OTT , this is a sister location of sorts , same owner but a different vibe ..well it used to have a different vibe , looks more like a wanna be restaurant that's trying too hard , the food is ok the menu is way dumbed down from last time I was in town and the cheese pizza was ok , the service was mediocre with both bar tenders mostly standing behind the bar not interacting with customers, they blonde girl who has been there far too long for such low levels of service , like idk how she's still there she has no knowledge had to ask other people for answers has the worst attitude and this fake valley girl blonde thing that's just annoying , bring back the lounge feel make it homey again because this place has only been around a year or so and has already fallen off . read more

A was there today had the sliders there were. Under cooked and the bartender gave me the bill after two beers like I was done never asked for it and the bill already had the surcharge figured in until I paid cash funny everyone pays with a card, wake up no wonder you guys can't get customers and change the name of the bar it's not inviting one bit. Other than its a cool place and tell the cook that a dirty towel does not belong on the prep table read more

Please turn the music down on the outdoor speakers for the patio. The two star rating doesn't reflect on the servers or food. The servers are friendly and the food is really good, however we often avoid going here because of the excessively loud music which makes conversation almost impossible. The musicians are great but just too loud. read more

I just left The Back Door Lounge and had the best service of my life. I rarely write reviews but Taylor really just made my entire day. I just flew in from Colorado and was looking for a place to grab a drink while I waited for my hotel room to be ready. Taylor was so sweet, it felt like she genuinely cared about me and treated me like I was a regular. She made me a delicious festive cocktail, I wish I took pictures but I devoured it because it was so yummy! I will be recommending this place to any friends going to the Phoenix area primarily for Taylor! read more

Great cocktail menu and our server Tayler was awesome! I can't wait to return. Renee L.

Excellent food. Exceptional service. Entertaining entertainment. Tayler was the best! Happy to have stumbled upon this hidden gem!

This screams "Bar rescue". Great location, horrible signage and inexperienced staff and bartender. My friend asked for the bars signature drinks and the bartender said they didn't have a complete menu, even though it's been open for 4 months. My friend asked for the bartenders signature drink and he responded with a Manhattan. My friend said he'd try it but the bar didn't even have sweet vermouth. The bartender openly joked about the owner always wanting alcohol. I later saw her at the cash register casually taking a shot. Another buddy and I had an old fashioned, the bartender "eye balled" the pour and didn't even use a simple syrup. It was a glass of bourbon with an an excess amount of bitters and a cherry. I'm less than impressed. I give this place less than a year before it's shut down. read more

I wish I could say something positive about this place. I like the location, so I guess that's one. I don't know who they hire as the bartenders but these people are so clueless. It makes me sad. Because I really love a good bartender. Twice they overcharged us during happy hour. And then when my bill came in at $11 and I gave them a 50. They brought me back $20. I don't know if they don't know how to do math. Or if they were just confused. But the law the art of great bartending not really exist here. I love older, seasoned bartenders, who know their drinks who know their wine. I long for those days. read more

If I could give this place 0 I would. We came by for lunch with a bonafide service dog for a medical condition. There is nothing lacking about the recently opend Back Door and Lounge. The decor is superior, the martinis and manhattens are served in 10oz frozen martini glasses. Great music by Daylon Greer and also Jesse Valenzuela. Old Fashioned was excellent although expensive and food was good!

Could walk by this spot without seeing it as somewhat dark out front...stopped in Friday night and had a glass of wine and Old Fashioned and sliders with friends.
