I wore my sword pin on my dress to fit the theme

Such a great experience! My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here and had a great time. The front desk person, Molly, was very sweet and helpful. She even gave us an extra 30 minutes to play! My favorite was the old fashioned style axe. I preferred the double-handed throwing method. This helped with my joint pain and I also brought my own gloves and elbow sleeves to help with aches. The gloves helped with throwing as well. Also, I wore my sword pin on my dress to fit the theme!

I had a blast at The Axe House! This was my first time throwing axes and I would definitely do it again. It was something different to do and great with a group of friends or family! The staff are very friendly and make sure to inform you of the rules, safety issues and how to properly throw the axes. As you enter the building you stop at the front desk to check in and they will review some of the rules and then assign you to an axe throwing stall. Once at your stall the staff demonstrate how to properly throw the axes and where to stand. After that, they leave you alone and you are free to practice/play with your group. They also have larger axes that can be purchased for throwing at your stall. In addition to the axes, their is a separate knife throwing stall that is open for anyone to use. Metal stars are also available to throw. If this is your first time, it will most likely take practice for you to be able to get your axe to "stick" in the wooden target. Axe, knife, star throwing is NOT as easy as it looks! They have some can sodas and other non-alcoholic drinks for purchase and some bags of chips. You can bring in your own alcohol and food. If you have never thrown axes, give it a try! It was a lot of fun!

We weren't sure if we'd like the axe throwing, we still went because we had won tickets in a raffle. So we went and had a free hour, at first it was tough but after you get the hang of it it becomes so much fun we bought another hour. The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful and really MADE the experience worth it!!! We will be back.

This place was so dope. Friendly staff, BYOB venue, and a ton of people having a great time shredding the wooden targets. I expected to throw axes, which we did, but I didn't realize they'd also have a ton of other throwing options (like ninja stars and knives) available for free. They also had premium throwing objects for a small fee, but we stuck to the basics since it was our first time. Axe throwing is harder than it looks! The staff give you a full safety briefing as well as some throwing tips before you get started. They also have scoreboards and some games if you want to amp up the competition with your group mates. Bring beer, soda, snacks, etc. if you want, but stick to cans instead of bottles. Expect your throwing arm to be sore the next day!

I absolutely loved this place! Came here for a work function and admittedly was a little scared of these places but I assure you it is safe. The staff was fun and helpful and watching them throw the big axes was quite entertaining as well. You can bring in your own food and beer/wine and they have plenty of space for groups. I plan to come back with friends soon!

This place is AWESOME! Honestly, when my friends suggested it, I wasn't 100% onboard since I've never exactly partaken in axe throwing contests. Needless to say, I would gladly go back to this place in a heartbeat! They have various Groupon offers depending on your group size, so definitely check that out first if you're wanting to save some money. I went with a group of four people and it ended up being a little under $20/person thanks to the Groupon. After you fill out the liability waiver, one of the employees gives you a quick safety rundown and then takes you to whatever throwing bay you'll be at for the two hour session. They give you a brief throwing 101 lesson for both one handed and two handed techniques, and then it's all open range for the remainder of your session! They have a variety of throwing knives, ninja stars, double sided axes, etc that you can pay additional money to rent for a period of time to throw at the boards too. We didn't do any of these, but multiple other sets of people did and they looked like lots of fun! You get a bit of an adrenaline rush after the first few tosses because it's not an every day activity and is often something we've been told not to do our entire life . I was very impressed with the experience and would highly recommend getting a group together to try it out!

This review is long overdue! Went here on my birthday in January with some friends and family! I got a Groupon for a 2-hour session. There was five of us and we had two lanes reserved. I'm glad we did the two hour over the one hour. We got to throw regular size axes, knives, throwing stars and cards. You can pay extra for a larger axes. I wish I would have seen the check-in special! You can have a free axe upgrade if you check in. The staff is great and helpful. They guarantee that everyone will get on the board.

Yallllllllll just trust me. Go and bite that damn chicken and the fries are delicious af too. Whatever they put on them makes it so no condiments are needed. The atmosphere was dope. It wasn't overly crowded. I loved that they acknowledged that we adhered to the theme of neon colors or costumes. The staff made sure we didn't chop nothing off and various staff checked in on us very often. My drink was drink'n and I can't wait to back. Notes: I would add descriptions under the drinks on the online menu so we can know what alcohol and mixers are in each drink. That not being there made me orders what I know I can drink and not try their drinks with cool names.

Our Sunday group was a combination of a family of three, a mom and her young son and my group of 4 adults. The instructor had some excellent axe puns and humor- but his actual instruction was somewhat lacking. He never landed a single axe in the target during his demonstrations. The target area is a bit like a short archery range, two targets in each range and it had two ranges. It's a large fenced in area to prevent the occasional wild flying axe and a plywood back with more wooden targets overlaid on it with cement floors. We were instructed on how to do a two handed and one handed throw and then we played games to test our skills. I really did enjoy throwing an axe at some wood and that satisfying thud when I would land one in to the target. Overall I had a great time and I would love to go again with the right group of people. Things that disappointed me slightly were the axes themselves. They looked like inexpensive harbor freight hatchets that they didn't maintain or sharpen (hence the instructor not landing in the target when he demonstrated) The axes take a beating and when people are learning and they hit that cement floor- they get pretty banged up. I think they need to sharpen the ones they have or go out and get some new ones. The second thing that was mildly frustrating was the lack of food and beverages available. This is an athletic activity- you sweat, you move around. We did this for three hours and didn't have the opportunity to buy water. We had water in the car (thank goodness) but if you plan to do this grab a granola bar and some beverages. Ultimately I think this was a lot of fun - and I would love to do it again with a bit more planning and my group of friends.
