First time visiting St. Louis. Decided to go to this place for our last night to have some fun, and we are so glad we did. We had an awesome time throwing axes, which we've done in Los Angeles before, but this time around, we also got to throw cards and ninja stars! Kenny, our instructor, was very friendly and professional. We had a great time and would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for some fun activities to do in the city.

If you are ready to have some fun, this is the place to go. We were there for a team meeting. I believe it is more team building than a meeting. Once a month we go and have some fun. Everyone had a blast. We got to safely throw axes, ninja stars, playing cards, shovels, and darts. Throwing the Shovel was probably the hardest thing to do. Throwing axes underhanded was difficult. But with some practice, it's not bad.

Will definitely be back, the attendant was super nice and helpful for us first time axe throwers. He was consistently checking on us and bringing us new items to step up our game and make the throwing morr interesting /fun. I hate I can't remember his name, but it was his last day there the day we went anyway. My favorite part was BYOB

Top Notch was definitely a great time. I have been wanting to try axe throwing for a while and am glad I came here for the first time! My coworkers and I were able to schedule a last minute appointment in the middle of the week as it was really close to most hotels and downtown restaurants, but you should definitely book online ahead of time. Axe Master Jared got us set up in our lanes and gave a great demo and safety instruction. He was awesome! Originally hearing at the price I thought "meh" but was definitely going to book, I assumed it would just be a couple quick throws and out but we were able to get in a few practice rounds and some rounds of the cool house games. WE EVEN GOT TO THROW NINJA STARS, WOW!! It was definitely a great bang for my buck!

Wow! What a fun a different thing to do with friends, family, or coworkers. The "Axe Masters" greeted us at the entrance, where we signed waivers and got ready to play. We had a reservation, so that helped since it was a bit crowded. As a group of 5, we took up one lane with two targets. We started off by getting thorough safety instructions from the Axe Master, which was much appreciated. Then we jumped right in, alternating between the two axes provided. Even for someone with no skills, it was fun and easy to dive in. After about an hour, we upgraded to throwing stars and playing cards, which was a fun change of pace - also easier on the arms and shoulders. Overall, the staff were very attentive, they kept the place clean, and it was fun that you could bring in your own food and drinks. The one downside was parking downtown can be a challenge. Great experience!

Such a fun afternoon of axe throwing. What better way to celebrate Valentine's Day than throwing sharp objects at your spouse. I mean with your spouse. Our Axe Master Saturday afternoon was fantastic. We practically had the place to ourselves.

We had a phenomenal time! We were walking by on New Year's Eve and we were able to walk right in. None of us had ever tried Ax throwing before, but we all left big fans even if our skills weren't "Top Notch"!

This place was fun! I wanted to try something different, something a little out of my comfort zone and maybe a little crazy my last night in St. Louis for my birthday weekend trip. And this place was right across the street from my hotel. The axe master was friendly and helpful, and explained all the safety stuff, etc., very well. I had a blast, so much so that I'm looking into local axe throwing places here in Cleveland to try it again.

    Happy smiles after axe throwing!

Our Sunday group was a combination of a family of three, a mom and her young son and my group of 4 adults. The instructor had some excellent axe puns and humor- but his actual instruction was somewhat lacking. He never landed a single axe in the target during his demonstrations. The target area is a bit like a short archery range, two targets in each range and it had two ranges. It's a large fenced in area to prevent the occasional wild flying axe and a plywood back with more wooden targets overlaid on it with cement floors. We were instructed on how to do a two handed and one handed throw and then we played games to test our skills. I really did enjoy throwing an axe at some wood and that satisfying thud when I would land one in to the target. Overall I had a great time and I would love to go again with the right group of people. Things that disappointed me slightly were the axes themselves. They looked like inexpensive harbor freight hatchets that they didn't maintain or sharpen (hence the instructor not landing in the target when he demonstrated) The axes take a beating and when people are learning and they hit that cement floor- they get pretty banged up. I think they need to sharpen the ones they have or go out and get some new ones. The second thing that was mildly frustrating was the lack of food and beverages available. This is an athletic activity- you sweat, you move around. We did this for three hours and didn't have the opportunity to buy water. We had water in the car (thank goodness) but if you plan to do this grab a granola bar and some beverages. Ultimately I think this was a lot of fun - and I would love to do it again with a bit more planning and my group of friends.

Yallllllllll just trust me. Go and bite that damn chicken and the fries are delicious af too. Whatever they put on them makes it so no condiments are needed. The atmosphere was dope. It wasn't overly crowded. I loved that they acknowledged that we adhered to the theme of neon colors or costumes. The staff made sure we didn't chop nothing off and various staff checked in on us very often. My drink was drink'n and I can't wait to back. Notes: I would add descriptions under the drinks on the online menu so we can know what alcohol and mixers are in each drink. That not being there made me orders what I know I can drink and not try their drinks with cool names.

I made the reservation with the help of Molly who works at the Axe House. She took care of the reservation for me over the phone and I was even able to apply a Yelp coupon to the reservation to save some money which was nice. When we arrived, Molly welcomed us and got us all checked in. I did not realize this was a BYOB place, so she was kind enough to let us know about the liquor store right in the same shopping plaza so my friends went to pick out some drinks for the day. Molly gave all of us the rules and went over the proper ways to hold and throw each of the "weapons" we used. She brought us over to the area that we could be throwing and showed up how to throw and talked through some tips and provided lots of feedback and advice throughout our 2 hour visit. We were getting the hang of it as best we could and had a great time. After throwing the axes for a little while, she brought over some of the ninja stars and other smaller items to throw which we all enjoyed throwing a lot. It was also a small form of therapy for us! We also got to throw a spear towards the end which was way harder than it looks. Overall, we had a great time and enjoyed learning all the proper ways to hold and throw axes. We played some of the games to earn points and just had a great time hanging out. And we were really thankful for Molly and all of her advice and feedback. She helped us feel comfortable with the process and made us feel welcomed throughout our time. We area already talking about going back soon! Check this place out and don't forget to check in for your axe upgrade! Trust me, it's worth it!

Some of that time was waiting for the last 2 people to show up which they did at 10 or few minutes after. After that we weren't sure what the hold up was. Sean was our guide. Perhaps he isn't really a "people person " or he was having a bad day. He didn't seem into it but the worst part was that he left us. After the 3 of the 5 sites we saw him only 1x maybe 2x. He gave us no indication that we were going to be on our own. One other guy did pass under us and asked if we were doing good but I think he was just passing by. I was with a friend and when either one of us had done zip line previously there were people to help or over see at each end of a line. Obviously this was different. So glad we didn't have an emergency. Another issue I had was the landing areas esp for site 2- the wood chips were built up so high, all 6 of the people in our ground fell or landed pretty hard. One lady thought her back was bleeding. The last 3 zip lines I didn't fall but it wasn't pretty site either I'm sure. Ha. I started in a group of 6 but then only my friend and I completed the last 2 sites. I don't think that had anything to do with our guide but was a more a reflection on those folks. Their platforms at the top of the trees are very small so when you reach the end of an "obstacle " it was hard to stand on platform to unhook from the cable. The bumpers (not sure of right term) extended too far away from the platform on quite few of the trees which added to difficulty. It was nice that they water at each of the sites. Also their store prices on items that you might need such as gloves were very reasonable. While we were completing site 5 we saw a deer right below us so that was cool. Tips: gloves with exposed fingertips are better especially if you want to take pictures, wear older clothes and look at as many pictures as you can find of the " adventures" so you know what to expect.
