My fiancé isn't GF and got to try some amazing home made rustic bread. The food was 5 stars, hands down. The dinnerware was old beautiful porcelain and is from the Czech Republic. A bit too fancy for us but it was fun to pretend for a weekend. In our living room was a Steinway grand piano. It was covered but guests could play, if they inquired about it. The comforter and pillows on the bed were pure heaven, very very expensive and only the best. The bedroom had a nice walk in closet. There was a large TV and a small selection of DVD's and VHS tapes. There wasn't cable, which was fine by us because we come to enjoy the beach, not to watch TV. The owners had a lovely selection of books to peruse through. There is a jetted tub on the property that guests can enjoy (for a small fee). The patio area was all done by them and was beautiful. I have no idea what the check out time was because we ended up talking to the owners for about 2 hours. They even offered to make us lunch and bring it down to our room so we eat together. We would have taken them up on their offer if my fiancé didn't have to drive to Spokane the same day for work. The owners are very well spoken and lovely people. It's so interesting to hear about other's lives from different parts of the world and how they ended up in the PNW. Quite fascinating people.

I am trying to possibly prevent others who already suffer enormously from experiencing such additional pain. Surely the business owner can understand that potential clients with these two specific health conditions would comprise a tiny percentage of potential overall business. My review is first and foremost for them. My original review is below in its entirety. _________________________________________________________________________________ I am sorry to have to say this as Arch Cape Inn is impeccable in every other way, but if you have Celiac or Interstitial Cystitis, do not eat here. I have IC and the super courteous staff reassured me about each course of the absolutely delicious breakfast. I felt confident after their reassurance. I think the first course had oats in it, some oats are gluten free and others are not, perhaps they didn't know that? I had an extremely painful 3-hour-long bladder flare not long after I ate the breakfast. This was a birthday trip for me, and my flare was on my birthday. My bladder was doing good before the breakfast. I would like to mention that I do NOT flare in approximately 95% of instances of eating out where I explain my allergies/food sensitivities in advance. If you look through my past restaurant reviews over the past 8 years of being a yelp reviewer, there is not a single other review of mine that mentions flaring after eating a restaurant meal. It's something that I usually do not have to worry about as long as I am clear with the restaurant staff. I also initially thought that going gluten free was a fad thing and didn't take it seriously at first until I noticed that avoiding gluten actually did make a pronounced positive difference in my symptoms. I am grateful that so many restaurants do take this seriously, so that in general I can enjoy going out to eat. The Arch Cape Inn is a really beautiful place, very clean and decorated gorgeously, and the staff was kind, accommodating, and professional. I liked being near the beautiful Oregon Coast, but far enough away from Seaside and Cannon Beach that it wasn't too crowded on the nearby beach, even during the summer. The Inn was very fair with pricing; we cancelled my birthday massage 6 days in advance and they took that off of our bill, but we had to arrive one night later than anticipated at the last minute, and they did charge us for that night, which is totally fair. I did not eat the second morning's Inn-prepared breakfast since I was scared to. I had a late breakfast at the Osprey Cafe in Seaside for 10 dollars which was very good. I did not flare after eating the Osprey Cafe breakfast. If you do not have IC or Celiac, I recommend this place highly for a beautiful getaway. We stayed in the Tuscan room and we loved it. If I hadn't flared we would have wanted to return.

The rooms have their own jetted tub. You can take DVD's up to your room from the downstairs foyer area. The people in Manzanita are so so nice. So friendly. Local eateries are close by. We've stayed in a number of B & B's and OPI ranks among the best. Here's why... Breakfast- None of that awkward morning conversation with other inn residents. You choose breakfast from a creative, healthy, delicious menu and it gets delivered right to your room (at your choice of time)! We're self-proclaimed foodies and we agree that this is one of the best inn breakfasts we've had. Proprietors- They're very friendly, relaxed, helpful and discrete. At some B & B's the owners are very particular about when you'll be coming/going, what you're doing, etc. Ron and Bruce are attentive, yet not intrusive. Rooms- Again, rooms in other people's homes can be dicey...filled with odd knick knacks, squeaky beds and musty books. Not at OPI. It is clear that they put a great deal of thought into the rooms. It isn't just the decor that we loved, but the quality of the bed, the sheets, the towels and furniture. It was an easy room to hole up in during the rain and quite spacious, despite being one of the 'smaller' ones. The pictures on the website don't do it justice (amazing, giant triple head rain shower, gas fire place, custom cabinets, wood floors). Drawbacks were few-- I'd suggest ottomans in the sitting area so that guests can comfortably read by the fire. The bathroom is form over function, so there is a lack of surfaces on which to lay a bag of toiletries. Along the same line, I'd appreciate a full-length bathroom door (there is a door, so don't be alarmed), to ensure the upmost privacy, but it's a small detail and not a deterrent. Additionally, the TV screen is quite small, even from the bed and while I know it's not the focal point of the room, it would still be nice to have a larger screen. We highly recommend the Ocean Point Inn and we will continue to go back.

It was also genuinely dog-friendly, which made the experience even better for us. We were able to have Penny with us and never felt like bringing a dog meant missing out on the property or the experience. And the breakfast! A five-course breakfast that was genuinely AMAZING and easily one of the highlights of our entire trip. Everything was so thoughtfully prepared and absolutely delicious. The wine tasting was another highlight. There's something pretty special about being able to spend the day enjoying the property, tasting their wines, visiting the animals, and then just walking back to your silo afterward. It made the whole stay feel relaxed and completely different from a typical hotel. What really made this place stand out, though, was the people. The same server, naturally, comes to serve us and she is nastier than an alley cat who just had her food taken away. She did settle down during the dinner. I was able to order what I wanted, the halibut that has raves here. It was merely passable . . . overcooked, the twice baked potato was awful and I don't remember the veggies. I think it came with a salad and that was the only good thing in the dinner. The drinks that they offer were limited, forget it on the wine, she didn't even know what Prosecco is when I asked. I had a huge Mojito and thank goodness, that made my night. Because my Dad (yet again!) ordered dessert without asking me, we got the deep dish baked cookie pan, 2 for the table with mounds of ice cream. Again, okay, not great. At what I saw the prices, this would have had to be great in California to last as a resto. Then he said he was not the person to check in with. He gave us the email of the owner and he allowed us to stay in the room until we got checked in. We laid down on top of the bed just to rest a bit. Little did we know that someone else rented the room on line and the owner didn't respond to our email. She came back to the inn and rented us a remote room in another building. Our mistake was not checking out the room before hand and just taking it. It was an interesting two story old duplex. Old as in interesting and quirky. I loved that it had a kitchen and couldn't imagine what it was like to live there back in the day. Anyway the bedroom is upstairs - very steep short stairs and the only bathroom is downstairs. As I am of an age where I need to get up at least once a night to use the facilities, I didn't feel safe walking down the stairs half awake. Thank goodness the couch was very comfortable downstairs. While checking out the space there was a door across the hall from the bedroom about 2 feet above the ground. We opened the door and was surprised to see another bedroom - there was a little ladder inside that would have allowed an easy climb into the room. Breakfast was in the main building, just help yourself to drinks or wrapped bakery items. Also yogurt and other goodies.
