It's surrounded by plenty of grassed areas for the extensive sports department. The college offers the full range of AS and A-levels as well as many GNVQs and also some other qualifications. When I was there, there was also an extensive programme of other learning opportunities. I learnt basic Dutch, did a first aid course, learnt about Japan and it's cultures, developed listening skills and many other things as part of this programme. There was always plenty of opportunities to go on field trips and holidays. The college has a very well stocked library with an extensive computer section for research. I think the only think that needed improving when I was there was the common room, which was small and inadequately furnished. Other than that it is a very good college (or was at least!)

There is a sitting area at the front of the venue which is perfect for the summer seasons and also the winter, complete with overhead heaters. The inside décor is modern and sleek that fits the student scene well. There are 2 sitting areas inside which is needed since this place is usually packed with drink seeking and food needing students! The food served is tasty but the price definitely stretches the student budget. Drink prices are pretty similar, but if you catch one of the weekly deals such as "pound a pint" on Fridays it's not too bad. The Courtyard also holds some of the main YUSU events during freshers week such as the stock market party and access all areas which are a great laugh. They also hold many other events during the rest of the year including being the starting point of many of the YUSU socials. When main events are being held the room adjacent to the sitting area is opened revealing a massive spacious hall with a large stage and bar. The Courtyard really is the perfect Student Union that York University can be proud of. Being central creates a great social feel and is the perfect venue to catch up with your friends, many good memories have been had here and I can predicted many more are on there way!

It covers Auckley, Branton, Finningley and Blaxton and has quite a high attendance rate but there are still a few spaces this year as far as I know. It is by far the very best nursery I've come across with my little boy, and I know that every parent at the school would say exactly the same thing. The nursery teacher, Mrs Foreman, is the most enthusiastic person I've ever met and the kids absolutely adore her (so do the parents!). I couldn't believe that the little monster who doesn't listen to a word I say will sit, completely mesmerised, when Mrs F reads him a story! If you live anywhere near this area at all, I'd highly recommend a visit to this nursery before you consider any others. I really can't express enough just how great it is (and no, I don't work there!)

They seem to take a real interest in the kids and treat them all as individuals. My little boy was always bringing things home and telling us stories about what him and the other boys had been doing, which he never did at the day nursery he'd been to before. Parking is a bit of a problem at times as there isn't much room for the school and a lot of kids come from outside the area, so be really careful with little ones on the road. Otherwise I can't fault the place.

I must admit I am a bit of a car nut and have been to quite a few driving days at different places. This was by far the best so far with lots of driving and friendly down to earth instructors. My instructor Tim was very patent with me although I never really got the 180 degree spin correct!! I have booked the drifting course with them for early 2011 cant wait !

I opted to paint a mug. Once I'd decided I was shown to a table and given clear instructions of what to do. There was even a little ideas book which I used for inspiration. The staff were very attentive and the whole experience was fun!! I'd definitely go back again. Left my pottery to be glazed and baked in the kiln and received a call a few days later to say it was ready to be collected. Nicely packaged in a box too to stop any breakages. With a display of numerous home made cakes and sweet things, there's literally something for everyone. There's loads of gluten free options too!! I had a huge slice of the chocolate orange cake once I'd finished painting, and I kid you not, it was the best chocolate orange cake I've ever had - so much so that I really should have asked for the recipe!!
