There is a sitting area at the front of the venue which is perfect for the summer seasons and also the winter, complete with overhead heaters. The inside décor is modern and sleek that fits the student scene well. There are 2 sitting areas inside which is needed since this place is usually packed with drink seeking and food needing students! The food served is tasty but the price definitely stretches the student budget. Drink prices are pretty similar, but if you catch one of the weekly deals such as "pound a pint" on Fridays it's not too bad. The Courtyard also holds some of the main YUSU events during freshers week such as the stock market party and access all areas which are a great laugh. They also hold many other events during the rest of the year including being the starting point of many of the YUSU socials. When main events are being held the room adjacent to the sitting area is opened revealing a massive spacious hall with a large stage and bar. The Courtyard really is the perfect Student Union that York University can be proud of. Being central creates a great social feel and is the perfect venue to catch up with your friends, many good memories have been had here and I can predicted many more are on there way!
