It is spread over three floors and has many different rooms all playing various sorts of music that suit all tastes. Last year they had a very good female artist playing guitar and singing then in the next room it was 80's Old Skool!! The staff are very helpful and door staff friendly, I have rarely seen any trouble or 'incidents' at Sugar Mill, the people that go in there are generally over 21 and just want to have a good night.

Mostly DJ's but occasionally live music and Rock Nights with bands. The dance floor is not huge and usually packed. It bounces too especially when groups of Goths in New Rocks are jumping around. This is the third floor too. Not designed for the disabled as lots of steep stairs to the free cloakroom and ticket office. Loud, friendly and jumping this is an established place having been there around 25 years or more and just as popular now as it always was. Drinks and cocktails are reasonably priced. Plenty of room to circulate if you are good at pushing. The long bar can involve a wait or misheard orders but not much of a problem. One corner used to be called Goth Corner as it was where they all congregated but now the students seem to have discovered it too. You can often find a seat there or else you will stand. Once upon a time you always stuck to the bar floor but they seem to have solved that problem. A shame as it was famous for it. A good night out but your ears will ring for hours.

The back room, Welly:one, is home to the infamous Deja Vu and Hed Kandi - it also has some very popular guest DJ's such as Howard Donald from Take That! Music is funky house with a fantastic sound and lighting system The lounge leads onto the smoking terrace and the music is a little more relaxed. I'm only as perturbed as I am under the illusion that finding a place that was once owned by Johnny Depp means I'm now married to him. Okay, so this particular Viper Rooms wasn't owned by Johnny Depp but it shares the same name. That is close enough for me. Now will it live up to expectations? Well actually yes it does. It's housed in a Grade II listed building and inside they've spared little expense. We're talking four bars surrounded by multiple rooms and a mad mix up of music as well. You'll get anything from disco to Hip Hop. It is beautiful, it really is. A special mention goes out the centre piece chandelier and quite awesome (not to mention comfortable) leather sofas throughout. To get you in the mood and your disco shoes raring the drinks menu will blow you away. It beats some clubs I've been to with a huge selection of cocktails, wines, fizz and beer. This is grade A stuff. It may be a little mainstream for some people's tastes but just go with the flow and enjoy the venue if nothing else.

I remember when PJ & Duncan (Ant & Dec), Mandy Dingle (Lisa Rielly) and a few other famous (or not so famous) faces have passed through those doors! Oh those Thursday nights when it was 10p a pint, it would have been rude not to go!! Saldy Tower is no more - it did briefly open again but failed misserably as it tried to go 'up market' and become a members only, however i only know 1 person who went! Clubs, not just in Hull, haved changed vastly over the years and i think it would take a lot to re-vamp this building and take it back to it's hay day and bring it into the 21st century!

Upstairs you have the club, complete with dancefloor, bar, DJ and pole dancing poles. The drinks in Legends are expensive, there is also an entry charge, which in my opinion it isnt worth paying for. At the age of 24 years old i felt old going in here, but then who wouldnt when you are surrounded by 16 and 17 year olds? Legend is very relaxed on their rules of who they let in i guess this is because they are struggling to get customers and need the money coming in! If your idea of a good night is dancing around with a group of teenagers then Legend is the place for you, it certainly wasnt for me.

It is a great place to study and I would recommend it to anyone. I made loads of friends who I still see regularly some 10 years later. It is not a huge university which makes it al the more friendly and is set on a lovely campus. The student Union is a great place with plenty of things going on and there is a big library, sports centre etc etc.
