I spent 6 happy years here (a BSc followed by a PhD). Hull is a really friendly University and also has a good academic reputation. It is a great place to study and I would recommend it to anyone. I made loads of friends who I still see regularly some 10 years later. It is not a huge university which makes it al the more friendly and is set on a lovely campus. The student Union is a great place with plenty of things going on and there is a big library, sports centre etc etc. read more

Ahh Hull. I was here for three years and had a fab time. It's a friendly uni, not poncey like some other red bricks. Best of all .. it's CHEAP. Bars would sell shots for 33p each when I was there; it's probably gone up since then though! Okay, the town's not exactly Paris: it was pretty bombed out during the war and there's a lot of concrete about, but it's friendly and has a nice campus. The other special thing about Hull is the chip spice, the paprika stuff they put on top of your chips in takeaways. Why hasn't this made it down to London? T read more

Rated in the top 5 friendliest universities in England, the University of Hull has a brilliant variety of courses to offer. It has brought a breath of fresh air to the city and succeeded in welcoming many different nationalities into Hull. It really is a brilliant and welcoming place to study and is constantly improving. read more

It is a nice enough uni it has a great library as far as books are concerned, however it is probably louder than the student union most of the time, which is a shame. I never spent too much time there on campus, but it was a merry little place and the staff were friendly, it still suffers a bit from red brick university snobbery but not so much (it's not even close to York Uni's pomposity) They used have a proper dirty student's union (the Rez') complete with a filthy but delicious grill bar, but they got rid of them for the new thing which is cleaner but has no atmosphere. read more

Hull University has a nice small campus, so everything is in easy walking distance. Hull itself is a bit rough, but the student areas are reasonably safe. The student life is wonderful, and the union caters well for a cheap budget. read more
