I've had a change to chat with security staff at the front and some, former military are super caring and kind. I feel super safe around northgate. Given the fentanyl and crime rate in the area this extra level of safety reassures me. The store is always clean and well displayed and the staff are knowledgeable. I think this store attracts a specific personality type and I noticed that some staff focus more on the specs of an item rather than focusing on the customer. It's hit or miss. Having come from sales and the service industry, I think that the emotional iq aspect could improve. I'm not giving this location a bad rating. I hope that my feedback can serve as a learning opportunity if you want. For example, I often have to find an associate to find something if there isn't one at the front by security. Sometimes, the staff will speak as if I am knowledgeable about tech and I hope the staff person can ask me what my knowledge of tech is first before processing. Value is fine. The Best Buy regional number gave misadvised me and I the staff seemed clueless at this location. I still like shopping here and they randomly have a good selection of toys.

In today's world with so many purchase options, it's imperative to have great service w/ in-home demo options. Each of my visits were with a friend of mine who has been a customer for many years who pre-arranged our visits. Connon has been amazing setting up multiple options and swapping out components so we could listen to the differences in various turntables, preamps, amps, speakers, subs, etc. for my listening room project which I hope to complete this year (summer 2024). Although I haven't personally taken advantage of his offer yet, Connon is willing to buy back equipment for upgrades (less than full price). This lowers the cost and burden of experimentation on the journey to build an amazing audiophile listening experience. Four years in and I'm still super happy with my Planar 6 turntable. Connon gave me a great deal on a demo model with a pre-installed Ania moving coil cartridge on which I've played hundreds of records. I don't know of a better place to shop in Seattle for HiFi sound equipment. Note: I noticed a handful of reviews complained about the hours (not open Sunday-Tuesday), lack of immediate personal greeting, or a verbal caution when interacting with expensive equipment like a $5K cartridge. I haven't experienced the same, but I've only been to the store on pre-arranged visits when we knew Connon would be here. That said, I don't compare this store with a typical "walk in, buy something, and leave" store that's open every day, has prices marked on everything, but virtually no expertise to help you make the best purchase decisions. With a little patience, you can get the most personalized service available, great deals, and fantastic products. Highly recommend!

Every time I'm there I feel like I spend a few hours debating how much I can spend, on things that are necessary or not, but I'm almost always convinced to spend more than I needed (by myself) since I'm not there often enough and it's nice to pick things out by hand instead of online for a change. Costs are generally a bit high but not all unreasonable depending on what it is. They have a parking garage which is a perk, but the downside is that it is absolutely tiny (with the tiniest spots) so it might be better to just park on the street to avoid getting hit or scratched. Last time I bought something here there was a minor issue but it was too late for me to return by the time I discovered it and realized what it was, and too expensive to get it fixed there, so I have to do it myself which is the downside... but generally good products overall. Either way, the only real options around Greater Seattle Area that I know of (as good options at least) is either here or Kenmore Camera, who also have fantastic staff, good gear and lots of parking, so check out both and see which is better for you.
