The difference is genuinely jaw dropping. Our project was a complete redesign including the replacement of an exterior wall with an expansive glass door, upgraded lighting, new furniture, draperies and blinds, and design support for our adjacent outdoor living space . Our living room has been transformed into a peaceful refuge, with a timeless, but truly unique feel. These ladies were professional, knowledgeable, creative, and just plain fun to work with. They brought reason and sanity to a large-scale project that could have been chaos; the whole effort was well organized, carefully planed and beautifully executed every step of the way. We can't wait to work with them again on future design projects.

However it was quite a journey to get here and at times less than pleasant. We hired a design company because 1) we lack experience in remodeling homes and 2) as busy professionals we felt it worth the investment to not have to be so involved with the logistical side of the projects. That was not the case at all. First of all, there was no end date filled out in our contract. That's on us but again, we lacked experience so we really should have pressed for that. Secondly and a major issue I have with this company is that every single disruption was made to be our problem. From what I can tell this company works with about 3 contractors and they make it seem like they have a whole Rolodex of them. At no point did they take responsibility for over promising and under delivering due to delays, mis quotes and errors. Their response was always something to the effect of "well everything is so backed up due to the pandemic". The pandemic began in March of 2020 and we began our project in March of 2021, so this business has had ample opportunity to course correct and evolve with the shifts and disruptions in supply chain. Third, we had a window closed in and unbeknownst to us that did not include the interior drywall repair but rather a sheet of plywood to hold place. Again maybe this is on us for our lack of experience and it was foolish to trust them to communicate with us but that feels like a major cost, major detail to clearly communicate to your client. Not to mention the old saying "finish what you start". -I'd also like to add to this that all their quotes and communications are done through email which gets very messy and disorganized very quickly. Fourth, we had wood floors done and the amount of follow up we had to do to just get a freaking start date nailed down with them was ridiculous. Mind you the down time and chemicals this project uses, the fact that we have pets which required boarding during this time and of course our own plans to evacuate the home. After all the attempts to get a start date from them, they ended up giving us about a 3 day notice which is absolutely unacceptable planning and quite disrespectful of our schedules. Furthermore they advised we'd be safe to return to our home about 3-5 days after the stain process was completed once the polyurethane had settled. This was so far from correct; I came home thinking I was going to stay and had to seriously hold my breath and run through the house to exit for another 3 days. Not to mention pay a substantial amount of extra money to extend our pets boarding and get ourselves another hotel. Fifth, their painter came over to give us a quote on interior paint and aside from his overwhelmingly awful tone and condescending attitude (toward me specifically) he gave us a quote to paint a room (mind you, a large room) that was around $10,000. When questioned why the interior paint of one room would cost about the same amount the exterior paint of our entire home cost (which was done by the same painter, same company) I was met with "maybe you should find your own painter" (like ok why did we hire you?) and after that remark was addressed in a follow up conversation we were told that it's because finding contractors that are insured cost a more premium price. My eyes rolled so hard I got a headache. And then we found an insured contractor who painted said room as well as an additional room and baseboards for less than half the amount Paxton Place quoted. Oh and they were able to start and finish on time as well. So even amidst a pandemic, it is doable my friends. At the end of the day we are pleased with the final product but wouldn't use them again. The ladies are nice and they have good ideas, it's just that the operational side of it was really messy and seemingly outdated. Like you can't expect a clean process if you primarily operate your business via email and with three whole contractors handling the scope of work you offer. On top of that, it really felt like once we were past writing the big checks that we fell so low on their list of priorities it was insulting. And we spent quite a bit of money with them. Overall would give them a 4/10.

I was looking for something more custom looking than the big box stores offered. I found a…read morebeautiful tile in Dallas but because of the price point I tried Bottega. I found a very similar tile that I actually liked more at a lower price point though still pricy. Bottega suggested I use it as a accent tile and a much lower price point field tile for the rest of the kitchen. Though this is not your discount tile store, I saved a lot of money going to Bottega and working with them on getting a custom look at the best price. My daughter has since used them for her kitchen and pool tile. Step out and try them. Most of it is specialty tile so also don't expect a quick turn on delivery. Relax and enjoy the difference.

When we selected our tile last Nov, the owner told us there would be a 14-week turnaround time. So we lined up all our contractors (tile, paint, wallpaper) accordingly. I called a few weeks before the delivery date only to eventually be told (after weeks of unanswered emails and phone calls) the manufacturer was very delayed and it would be another 14 weeks before we would receive the tile. So, I called the manufacturer myself to see if there was anything that could be done on their end, and was told that the order had only placed when I had called to check in January. Now caught in a whopper of a lie, the owner has gone completely silent and for weeks has avoided any contact with me or my husband. I understand that things can fall through the cracks--mine are very small jobs in a very busy season for the company. The owner seems to be disorganized and overwhelmed--things that are totally forgivable. But to be lied to and ghosted like this is beyond unprofessional. It is also such poor form to unfairly pass the blame onto one of their largest business partners. I cannot in good faith recommend working with this company. It pains me, as it is local and woman-owned, but this is wholly unacceptable.
