Everyone in attendance had a wonderful time crafting (we chose stuffed animal puppies, complete with hearts, collars, and tshirts, as well as lava lip glosses). The store is gorgeous, clean and sophisticated, and the staff that helped the kids craft that day were friendly and knowledgeable. It was also great that the parking lot was nearby and covered (it was raining heavily that day - but we didn't get wet at all!) I hired Happy Little Brush Strokes as a painting activity for a bachelorette party, and the company was so easy to work with from start to finish. I reserved my date several months in advance because their calendar fills up quickly! You're able to choose one of the paintings from their website and adapt it to what you need. I chose to paint full-sized wine bottles (and place fairy lights inside of the bottle so it lights up!) since the bachelorette party was "wine themed." The price was $30 per person for the experience. I believe if you choose to paint a canvas, it's $25 per person. Happy Little Brush Strokes came all the way out to Greenport, Long Island to do this activity. The instructor, Bob, was an absolute delight, who was filled with so much positive energy! He provided everything we needed for the event (paint, brushes, water cups, the wine bottles, fairy lights). The only thing we needed to provide were tables, table cloths, and chairs for our group of 7. The experience took just over two hours, and everyone had an amazing time!

The location is for this event was Saturday at Michael's Porthole 92 New St. Oceanside, NY. This location is not easy to get to and if you don't have a GPS or a good map you can be lost. Even with a GPS we were a little confused because we "Have reached our destination" but still almost 2 block away and going in the winter time there is no one around on this dead end road to ask for information.Luckily we found Michael's Porthole. The painting area was setup in their large bar room that remind me of a beer garden. The structure is no permanent, a canvas cover roof so it was pretty cold when we arrived. I had to get two cup of hot coffee before I warmed up. I recommend getting here early to get the best seat you can; many of the seats were already reserved for groups. The available open seats were on the ends or sides of the room and the lighting can been good or bad. I prefer a bright spot so I can see better. Before you start go take a photo of the sample painting put up by the instructor so you can look at it at your seat. The Instructor has a headset and walks you through the whole 2-hour event. Two assistants were helping the students and the restaurant staff is always available for drinks and food. Yes, some people were eating burgers and painting at the same time. The whole painting experience was fun! Some people are very good painters and some are there for the fun experience. Check the internet for discounts. ***Note: the locations inside NYC has a surcharge on the Groupon deal. That was why we went out to Long Island instead of locations in Queens.

The instructor was attentive and told all of us that the everything looked good, and he took photos. He stated that the resin would harden in 24 hours. Issue: the resin never hardened. Bigger Issue: We emailed Yaymaker informing them of the issue and we only received an canned response: 'thank you for the email', etc..., with no corrective action or compensation for the poor quality of resin. I cannot recommend this resin coaster event. It was truly a big disappointment! Apparently Yaymaker does not have any customer service integrity and do not stand behind their product.

She did a good job of explaining what we needed to do, but also gave us plenty of time to talk to each other and have fun. This wasn't like a school art class, it was actually so much fun and I left with a great looking painting, which I am so surprised about.! I also have not painted anything even remotely like this, and I have no artistic skills, and she did a great job explaining the different brushstrokes and the different paintbrush techniques, so I did actually pick up some useful information which was great ! painting with the twist is a very nice family run establishment, I have been here for the chunky knitted blanket, making class and that was equally fun and well organized!
