Dont Do it! I normally don't write reviews however this time I had no choice.. I am protecting all the families who may consider The Argle.. Don't do it! My mom was living here for 2 months and she almost died.. Understaffed, medications not given in a timely manner, staff are not trained, when they press the pendant for help the staff will appear in 30-45 min.. They left my mom soiled in her clothes, bed soiled, feed her on soiled sheets.. If your loved one is on oxygen, they do not check the oxygen, mom went to the hospital twice bc her oxygen went down to 79.5 no one check it. Bathroom was never cleaned, room was never cleaned, feces on the toilet and tissue. This place needs to have a serious investigation.. The chandeliers are nice and shiny but the care you will received is below a zero.. I suggest and highly recommend if you love your family member do not send them here please look at the pic attached.. I moved my mom out of here in 90 days, she is thriving and doing a lot better.. I have contacted Colorado State, Long Term Care Ombudsman, Dept of Human Services, Better Business Bureau.. Our love ones have a right to be free from neglect, treated with dignity.. Oh by the way its nice to see the Executive Director Tom C give his own review in yelp. Tom let us do the reviewing..

My mother died this past February. She would have been at AOH 5 years this month. I wanted to write…read morethis review to say how appreciative I have been with the loving care Mom received. There was, of course, staff turnover during those 5 years, but I never saw anyone that didn't hold Mom and the other residents in highest regard and treat them all with dignity. A beautiful example is when I let a prior staff member know Mom was near the end of her life, that person came back to visit her and give her one final hug. Times were turbulent during the pandemic, but with imaginative ideas, family members were able to continue to connect with loved ones. There were video calls, window visits, outdoor visits, and after vaccination, in person visits once again. Due to the vigilance of the people at AOH, Covid didn't find its way into Mom's house until omicron, at which time everyone was vaccinated. Mom tested positive, but was never symptomatic; her body gave up some weeks later but it wasn't due to the coronavirus. Mom was content and happy at Applewood - and I will be eternally grateful for everyone who took such good care of her.

In the past year I have seen: A woman I love become coherent one to two days per month. I came in on my day off to chat with her. The "ladies of Upham" reenact high school with all the hilarious drama. Petting zoo, visiting singer, aquarium visit, park visits, coffee shop outings, visiting guitarist/humorist, visiting pianist, high school carolers, fishing trip, and bowling alley outing for the residents, families and staff. A wonderfully sweet and kooky 92-year-old woman make a full recovery after coming down with the flu. A man go through a scare where his pulse dropped and his face turned blue, only to be perfectly fine the next day. A woman who said to me, "quick, go get the chickens before the plane lands, they can't go to Australia." There is a high turnover rate in EVERY caregiving company; this job is listed as the #1 most stressful job by msn for a reason! In other companies we are told "side hugs only" and that "no, we can't do this or that because it is too expensive." At Applewood, from the top down, they care about people. I try my best to treat my residents like close family. I feel supported and am happy to work here. Please feel free to come by and ask to speak to me if you'd like, I'm at the newest location on Garrison street in Arvada.

If I could give The Granville 10 stars, it wouldn't be enough!…read moreI was the sole caregiver for my Grandmother for almost 5 years when it proved to be just too much for me to handle. The reason why I hadn't gotten her into her own "apartment" or facility, is because of what my mind thought an assisted living facility was going to be. I didn't want my Grandmother to be in a place that wasn't well maintained, or where the staff were abusive in any way etc etc. All the horror stories that one hears about pertaining to elder care facilities. Well, The Granville is ANYTHING but! From the second we toured the location right before the pandemic, I was put at ease. The residents seemed happy, the entire place was decorated just beautifully and extremely clean, and the staff was just so nice! It really felt like home! The help and expertise that they provided to me in getting my Grandmother approved was also a Godsend, because all of the paperwork can be tricky for someone not familiar! My Grandmother's apartment was just so lovely too! She was able to decorate it how she wanted, and there is a little kitchenette area with a fridge and microwave so she can have her favorite snacks. She has been there over a year now and I couldn't have asked for a better location to have provided the utmost care during the pandemic. They even took the necessary precautions one week ahead of time before the Government shut everything down. To accommodate all the residents who now were unfortunately unable to leave their rooms, must have been such an undertaking!! But the staff still made my Grandmother and the other residents not feel neglected and forgotten about. Making little crafts and spending a little more time with the residents so they didn't feel so alone during this scary time. They went above and beyond making sure everyone was kept safe and stayed healthy and just did an incredible job and am so grateful to everyone at The Granville. I could go on and on about the staff being just perfect and everything I could have ever hoped for, for my Grandmother. If you have a loved one and you are feeling apprehensive about locating a place where you can rest easy at night knowing they're being cared for properly and with respect, then look no further. My Grandmother absolutely LOVES living at The Granville! She has made friends, still has her independence and adores the staff! I am eternally grateful for finding the Granville and cannot thank Sara, Joe, Kathy, Jamie, Mary and the rest of the entire staff for providing this location and the care that they give to someone that means SO much to me!

He was in a couple of other facilities that were below par before we found the Granville. From the moment we walked in, we felt that this was home. Sara, the executive director helped us with the transition paperwork and made it totally painless. The employees really make you feel like they are part of the extended family. Joe, Donna, Alicia, are just a few of the great "family" members that always have a friendly smile. I could go on and on about all of the wonderful things about the Granville. Since dad moved in I have had to move about 60 miles away and I would love to have him closer, but I haven't found any other facility that can match the Granville. For me, the drive is more than worth it to have him live here. The Granville is always clean, the employees are warm and friendly, activities are available, the meals nutritious, meds are accurate and the apartments wonderful. Since dad has lived here they have spent money on capital improvements to keep the facility in top shape and comfortable for their residence. I would and have highly recommended the Granville to anyone that is needing a place to LIVE and add to their extended "family"!

My father was initially very difficult to care for - belligerent and obnoxious. They treated him with total compassion, and eventually, once we got his medication right, he became a staff favorite. Stacie Naslund runs the place - she and her staff are absolute stars. I never once questioned my decision to place my father there, and I'm so grateful to everyone who works there. My dad seemed to enjoy his short time there (he was a rehab patient, not a resident) as much as a 90 yr old dementia patient would. The main problem my siblings and I have with the center is their laundry practices/system. From what I can tell, resident's clothes are washed on an almost daily basis (that's a good thing!), with any and everyone's clothes washed together (understandable). Clothes are marked with names and/or room numbers but there is an issue of clothes getting back to the correct rooms. Items of my dad's clothes went missing on an almost daily basis as well as him wearing someone else's clothes because they were put in his room in error. He's not much for clothing details at this point. We were always on the hunt for who might have his "favorite" shirt on today. In the end, at discharge, I think we left with everything he started with. They do not check pants/shirt pockets and because of this my dad's fairly basic, new phone ended up getting washed and ruined and had to be replaced. Yes, he still has a phone as we like to talk to him whenever possible and he loves hearing from all of us. The center refused to reimburse the price of the new phone as, in part, with 60 residents, that's a lot of pockets to go through. If you only have one job (doing laundry), maybe a little more care/attention to detail should be taken. I'm sure in all the paperwork we signed at admission there's a disclaimer about entering at your own risk and them not being responsible for loss or damage to one's belongings and we'll definitely know better the next time we take him somewhere.

Mom was told where the smoking section was outside AND that they do allow tenants to smoke inside their apartments, but not in the "common hallways." The lady told mom, "I can't smell it when I walk the hallways." Mom told the woman that that is in direction VIOLATION of HUD's Smoke-Free Policy, "All PHAs must have a smoke-free policy in place by July 31, 2018." That's almost 6 YEARS. NOBODY is allowed to smoke inside the building per that policy. The woman at Edgewater Plaza told mom, "Well we allow them to smoke inside their apartments and we won't be changing that." They're violating HUD's rules and ENDANGERING the health of ALL their tenants. Wonder how HUD feels about that? Mom wrote Edgewater Plaza off her potential housing list.
