Best coffee - great staff - sit there all day and your family!
This cafe reminds me of how Stanley Street used to be - 15+ years ago! It has all the charm & authenticity of a good local cafe - that can't be styled or bought.
I'm a local which means i am spoilt for choice when it comes to coffee in this area, but this cafe is probably one of the least pompous and one of the least pretentious! It hasn't had a wanky-swanky "faux french barn" style fitout and its because of this - that it isn't an urban breading ground for the inner city too-cool for life hipsters.
A short time ago i witnessed a group of what looked like homeless people come in, order food, sit at a table, eat and proceed to walk out - without paying. I was expecting the owner to start hurling abuse at them - but he didn't. Instead I saw him calmly walked up to them, pat them all on the back and tell them to take care of themselves.
I've seen homeless people kicked out of venues before - but I've never seen such beautiful generosity like that before - its made me want go there everyday. read more
