It was busy and lots of service. 1 waitress for all 15 tables and she was cooking part of the time.. ridiculous!!!! We were made up of 4 tables... Not service friendly at all...not again.

Cooked and sauced to perfection! Fries were huge and great! So 2 orders of 12 wings (plus 5) large fry and one diet coke came to $19.55. Wow! We have a huge container left for lunch tomorrow. Could they have called ahead - yes, in fact this place now delivers to the local area as well. Whatever the case may be, the speed of service was slow and I was hungry. Reason number 1 for 4 instead of 5 stars. Second reason was everything on the seafood was deep fried - most of it was good, but I would have liked the scallops differently and didn't eat them all as they still had a "not so good" taste and as we all know - I eat almost anything, which is why I've suffered afterwards! Because they fight for the rights of all, not just immigrants. This annual fundraiser brings all sorts of Buffalonians together - those who've lived here their whole lives and some who came last week. It's price point is low, making it available for all. The event has food from around the world, so again, everyone will find something they like. They have various restaurants, from the Canadians making poutine to the Japanese with raw fish to chocolates from the native Buffalonians. Also, Chinese, Burmese, ice cream (Italian?), and more. There are also plenty of things available to purchase for yourself or gifts. All sorts of fun ethnic gifts from various shops around town. Great annual event.

I love that you can try new places (e.g., we found a new German restaurant) or try different dishes from old favorites (e.g., Sun Restaurant) - where I usually get the pad thai but in the future will also be rotating in the delicious black rice dish. The event is nice in that there are a lot of options that your average person may not have experienced (e.g., Burmese, Ethiopian) mixed with things that are more mainstream - like potato pancakes from Germany or poutine from Canada. The only thing that keeps this event from being a 5-start is the seating situation. The event has gained in popularity and it can be hard to juggle the food. There are maybe half a dozen large round tables with chairs and another half dozen to a dozen cocktail tables. People who come with groups stake them out and stay the night. Even if the seat is empty it is not uncommon to be told that it is taken. Some of the dishes you can eat standing up but others (e.g., soup) are hard to eat without some sort of surface. (Thus, the lack of food photos from me...) I love that you get a map of the world and that you get stamped at each location you visit. Every year we try to make it to all the stops but there is always too much food to quite pull it off - even with some sharing. All around, a great event!

This also means I got to ride the awesome Dizzy Dragons ride, which is similar to Disney world tea cups. Food was okay. Basic pizza at &3 per slice was fair. Treat prices were high to me, though. $5 cotton candy or $3 for 3 chocolate covered strawberries seemed like a lot. We headed out around 7:30 as rain started to sprinkle and big crowds of teenagers arrived. Overall, a nice time.

Always park along the side streets or in the school parking lot. It's a walkable distance. If you have a mobility impairment, it might be hard to find a parking spot during peak times since a lot is going on in the village. Food tickets: 50¢ per food ticket and no item is over 12 tickets (so for $6 you can get a full portion of a burger or other entree). I brought $20 with me and was FULL. I had around 10 tickets left over which I passed along to a friend who was staying later. The burgers: I am SHOOK that people say they can't seem to find burgers at BurgerFest... there had to be around 15-17 different types and styles of burgers! From a burger taco to pierogi and grilled cheese - to ice cream sandwiches- lots of creativity along with the classic burgers. Entertainment: Terry Buckwald is always a crowd pleaser and kept our spirits high in the heat! Lots of fun with those we sat by! Oh- did I forget to mention that there is shade areas with tables and chairs??? They have a good amount of tents to cool off under and sit/eat food! Main Street has a lot of fun with their performers and car show! Will be back again next year!!!

I've witnessed multiple people get turned away and not receive food although they can give boxes of non perishable food out at their own discretion. When perishable food is donated it usually sits on a shelf in the cool until it goes bad and then it's discarded. Many project completed by volunteers often go to the wayside as it sits in the warehouse and does not make it to a food pantry before items in the box pass the extended shelf life. Beware!!!
