I was excited to move in, but that quickly faded. The management makes promises they don't keep--like move-in incentives that required countless emails and calls and were never delivered. I had to follow up numerous times for a gift card that was promised "30 days after move-in." They always had the same excuse. "Oh it's being processed and we're moving to a new system."
I rented on the 5th floor. The 1st noisy neighbor was a drug addict. I found his apartment because the office told me to find it. I had to call 911 because the office wasn't taking action and they didn't have a courtesy officer in place at the time. He was on drugs blaring music and vibrating our apartments through the day and night. This guy was also arrested here. They told me he didn't "exist.". My neighbor next door heard all the same noises and said it sounded like a diesel engine in his living room.
Another neighbor moved in on the 4th floor. Their balcony faces mine. The neighbor made a band and was drumming the same song for hours. The office ignored me and never took accountability. I saw the drummer with my own eyes. They ignored this issue for over 4 months. The office would call me and say they "checked" and found nothing. I think they are just lazy and lying to tenants without resolving issues. I literally emailed and circled the apt on a photo for them and they still "couldn't find it."
I had 5 months of electrical issues. The day I moved in, the lights weren't working. They were very trippy and flashing on and off rapidly. We had 5-10 power outages on my side of the building. They were a lot at once. The 2nd time electricians "fixed" my electricity, the whole living room light and fan stopped working. The third time and 5 months in, I sent a request when I woke up and my lights were automatically on and wouldn't shut off. They were flashing again and ran up my electric bill. The fridge wasn't working in the morning and the appliances weren't working. I had to reset the breaker to restart the appliances. There were days that I didn't have power because they were working on some new issue. One time I didn't get power until 8 pm. I heard what sounded like a gun shot. Maintenance said the oven breaker blew out and they had to replace it. This is a major fire hazard. There were sparks from this in my bedroom by the breaker. They also put in a surge protector breaker because of this. I went downstairs in the evening to ask about ETA and they blew me off after not having power for 6 hours and trying to charge my phone with a mobile charger. I just wanted to make sure my groceries would be ok and I needed a place to get ready because I didn't have power.
A new building will have issues and their corporate guy Rick said apartments have a "normal amount of noise." These issues have been relentless and neverending. Rick is also not helpful whatsoever and ignored me too. He will probably go on vacation if you ask him a question.
I was nice to the staff, maintenance, and cleaning lady. I was also clean, calm, quiet, and had a stunning apartment. The office staff quickly took advantage of me, my time, and kindness. You ignored me before, but you certainly can't ignore and blow me off. Don't let them fool you or make you seem crazy. By LAW, you have a right to a peaceful and habitable place. You have a right to a private, safe, and drug free environment. You also have a right to know the fees that you pay. You don't want 8 trash fees at once. Everything is a SCAM. Don't let them try to invalidate your experiences, feelings, or noise complaints.
Unless you want to lose your sanity, time, work, and money, DON'T DO IT. They thought I was a "high maintenance," weak, single female that they could take advantage of. They were very mistaken. Speak up! My lawyer said they violated a lot of my rights as a tenant.
I wouldn't be high maintenance if I didn't have to do their job. I didn't deserve this treatment or to be poorly talked about when they were the ones who created the problems. I felt very uncomfortable living here and I always paid on time. read more
