Liet and his crew handle all maintenance concerns promptly and successfully the first time. We moved to the Laurels because it was the sweetest spot in our price range in the county that was close to work. An excellent decision. I'd recommend this community to anyone who doesn't want overpriced, anonymous apartment living in a home just like the hundreds immediately around you. My only complaint is that the current owner wants to call this community 10X at Jacaranda. This means nothing to potential residents while The Laurels captures our ambiance exactly. I'd expect the 10X people to have a much better marketing team. Come here to live. Be at least half as happy as us and life will be good.

Providing lots of information for anyone who is thinking to lease at the property. The community is huge, over 20 buildings, and about 20 miles of property make up community. The property is nice, for the most part it is well kept, and clean. The units however do show their age. Inside the apartments most will have slightly outdated appliances, carpeted bedrooms, and from what I learned, most units will not be equipped with a microwave. For someone who is renting, this is an important feature. The community holds events for the residents each month, which I love. The pool, and fitness centers were kept clean and more modern. This will be a great place for anyone who is not too keen on brand new or updated appliances and simply looking for a quiet and safe neighborhood to live in.

I've lived at The Registry Las Olas long enough to have a pretty balanced view of the building…read more There are a lot of things to like: the location is excellent, the building looks great, and there are some genuinely nice amenities. For a relatively new building marketed as a modern luxury property, there are also more operational issues than I would expect, however,  The amenities can feel overtaxed at times. One of the elevators was out of service for quite a while, although management announced today, with considerable enthusiasm, that all four elevators are finally operating again. Hopefully they stay that way. Parking is another frustration. The garage is supposed to offer the convenience of valet parking, but there have been times when parking availability has been an issue, and the app residents were given to manage the valet experience has been unreliable at best. The building's electronic door/access system has also been a recurring problem for multiple residents. The Ecobee thermostats were another nice "smart building" feature, but residents can no longer control them through an app. Individually, none of these things is catastrophic. Collectively, however, they take away from the experience you expect from a newer luxury building at this price point. There are rumors that some of the issues are apparently related to availability of maintenance budget funds.  I hope not. Management also seems unusually particular about their social events. There have been building events where residents' friends and guests are present, but there are apparently other events where even a resident's boyfriend or other guest may not attend unless they are themselves a resident. While I've never had an issue, for an apartment community populated by adults, that strikes me as an unnecessarily rigid and somewhat odd approach to building a sense of community. The Registry has a lot of potential, and I don't dislike living here. My frustration is that the physical property and location promise a more polished experience than the day-to-day operation consistently delivers. I would much rather see management's attention focused on making the elevators, parking, access systems, smart-home technology, and other basic conveniences work reliably. A good building, in a great location, that could be much better with more attention to the resident experience and the systems residents actually use every day.

When I decided to lease an apartment, Elsie made the paperwork process easy and quick. She never acted bothered by my questions, and took the time to explain all pertinent details to me. Up to this point, I have been very pleased with the quality of service that I have received. To comment on the actual apartments, they are well built and have high end appliances. Lavie gave us a tour of the units of our interest, the amenities, and overall property. She did an amazing job and answered all of our questions in detail. She was very approachable, friendly, yet very professional and kind as she enthusiastically walked us around the property. She was very knowledgeable and thorough in sharing the details. We appreciated very much that when we shared that we were on a tight time schedule, she respected our time and kindly adjusted our tour, accordingly. We loved the units, and the gym was very nice! The units with water views were of particular interest and they did not disappoint! Having a guard and gate at the entrance of the property is a definite plus towards good security! Unfortunately, we were quite disappointed to find out when we attempted to start the application process a couple weeks later, that although we understood that a unit could be held for up to 30 days, the price changed right in front of our eyes as we were initiating the application process. We created an account, pulled up the unit and 15 month lease option, and verified the price, then, all of a sudden, the system crashed and wouldn't let us back in for about 30 minutes. Once we successfully reentered they application process, the price had gone up $300 in less than an hour! This left us feeling like something suspect was going on, so, we decided to move on from this property. Another strange thing is that even though they hold a unit for up to 30 days once the application is being processed, we also found out that this does not lock in the price. The unit we were interested in price changed within 2 weeks even though they say they 'hold' for up to 30 days. It's hard to explain when happened to us as we were trying to complete the application online, but, suffice to say that if you offer a 30 day hold, the price should not change based on which week you apply during the 30 day period. We understand that the prices are not locked in until you apply, so, this is not what I'm referring to! I'm simply talking about the price actually changed if I selected up to 30 days hold. Lastly, when I called the property to followup, calls were not returned promptly and emails were not responded to promptly. I assume that the leasing office is short staffed, which is the case with many properties. We loved this property and was really hoping it would be our next lovely home! Maybe another time!

The area outside the building constantly smelled like dog urine and feces. It made what could have been a pleasant place to walk feel dirty and unpleasant, and management never seemed to address the issue. Communication with management was extremely disappointing. They rarely responded to emails, even when the issues were serious. My husband's bike was stolen from the supposedly secure bike storage area, which is protected by a keypad lock. We reported it immediately, but management never even acknowledged what happened, offered assistance, or followed up in any way. We felt completely ignored. This is also not a family-friendly community. Management is quick to send complaints about children making normal noise, yet there are dogs throughout the property that bark and create noise without the same level of concern. The double standard was frustrating. Overall, the lack of responsiveness, poor management, unpleasant outdoor conditions, and unfriendly atmosphere for families made our experience very disappointing. The views are the only thing this property has going for it.
