Jody and I had recently been on a quest for a home for nine months, and I am so excited to say Jody…read morematerialized my dream home!!! I now reside in a home that far surpassed my initial expectations. As a first-time homebuyer, I was clueless about my budget and my preferred location. Jody's expertise shone through as she walked us through everything we wanted to know... and everything we needed to know, but could not possibly anticipate. Jody connected me with an experienced lender who secured me an incredible interest rate, far lower than a first-time home buyer could otherwise anticipate. Jody did all the legwork to find potential homes and to customize an itinerary for each weekend, and dutifully drove to the south county every weekend and even some weeknights to accommodate our schedule and needs. I often felt apologetic for having so many questions, for having so many past due revelations (revelations of information she had tried to impress upon me previously). Every time I told her how sorry I was for waffling and changing directions, she would laughingly wave my apologies away and tell me that "it's all part of the process." She told me the process must evolve on it's own time, as we move through the different steps, and come to realize certain truths. The entire process is fundamental in home buyer decision-making but there are lots of twists and turns along the way. Without Jody as our loyal sherpa, we likely would have fallen off a cliff at some point. Jody was always available, responded immediately and with sincere enthusiasm. I came to understand that Jody was not simply making a sale. The most important aspect to her was to find a well-built, well-maintained home that met all our essential needs and fell within our budget. Easier said than done! I just have to say, tackling home-buying in the Bay Area is not for the meek. As I witnessed Jody work her magic day by day, the word that kept coming to mind when discussing her aptitude and knowledge was "subject matter expert." In stark contrast to a shocking number of real estate agents I encountered in other contexts- let me just say that in the world of Bay Area real estate, I knew I would want to use a reputable agent and agency, such as Jody Rossi and Upswing. In my limited experience with sellers (who also acted as real estate agents, in some instances...) I was shocked to witness them struggling to answer simple questions, fundamental to real estate practice, such as knowing the percentage their HOA is funded, etc.. In some cases, sellers seemingly obscured the truth about damages, necessary repairs, and lied about other offers in hand, all in an attempt to make a quick sale. Jody has a knack for zeroing in on the minute details, digging through disclosures and pointing out exactly what the key issues are at hand and breaking everything down for us to understand. I tried to read through them myself and I went cross-eyed. I felt at ease knowing she was on the case, every time. She's amazing! Jody showed us properties that met every requirement we put forth, which was not easy within our budget. The ace in the hole was an amazing single-family home in Gilroy. I never imagined such a dream could come true. We submitted an offer on our first house and braced ourselves for the worst - but to our surprise, we got it! The reason we got it is that Jody knew precisely how to articulate an attractive counteroffer to secure the home. Her warm personality, clear communication and comprehensive experience and expertise were absolutely essential in tying all the necessary components together. Jody's professionalism and her extensive knowledge of the South Bay were instrumental in making the process seamless. From reviewing inspection reports and disclosures to navigating the overwhelming closing process, Jody's guidance was pivotal and extremely impressive. I am absolutely in love with my new home, thank you so much, Jody!!! It was a lot of fun driving around and seeing properties together each weekend, because aside from everything I have said above, Jody is a blast to hang out with. I recommend Jody Rossi to anyone who is looking to buy a home! :)

I can't believe how unprofessional this business is. I went to their website and booked a 9:00 am…read moretour for today, which was the only time they offered. Woke up extra early on my day off and drove all the way over, making sure I arrived early to figure out where to park, etc. Was greeted by their away sign on the door saying they would return at 9:30 am. No one called or texted me to say they were running late and no one answered their phone line or the door call box. Even though their website said they should have been open at 9:00 and they also confirmed my 9:00 am appointment, it was clear they had zero intention of meeting me there since they left and put 9:30 am on the clock on the door. By the way, I also selected that I had a resident issue on the phone line and they still didn't answer, so I assume they treat their residents as poorly as their prospective residents. The complete lack of basic human decency and respect is unreal.

They will 100% steal your deposit because they know 99% of people don't want to deal with suing them in small claims and don't want to risk their credit. I did the final walk through with one of the staff members, he said it looked great and told me up front that they have to hire a cleaner as just standard procedure, but there was no damage to the paint and I should expect the deposit minus the cleaning fee back. Great, 21 days later, the maximum time they're allowed to wait in California, they send me a bill saying I owe them an extra 150 because they've decided to clean and paint the entire unit. I was expressly told in the final walk through that it did not need paint. For reference, I was the first person to ever live in the unit, I cooked maybe 3x a week, and I vacuumed and mopped almost every week. I asked the property manager for proof that paint was in a bad enough condition that it needed a full repaint. They took another 3 weeks to send me photos. They sent me photos of some extremely minor scuffing that would have come off with a wet napkin. And the real kicker is they weren't even pictures of my unit. They sent me some pictures but the orientations were wrong - the door and handle were on the wrong side. That was a review of the move out process really, here's an actual review of the stay: Preface this with - the maintenance staff was great, Chris was great. That's about the end of my praise. I lived here for a year, Dec 2022-Dec 2023, the stay itself was fine, not great, but fine. It was a brand new building, but there were still plenty of issues. I rented a studio apartment, just shy of $2500 with parking for 440 sqft. It was a shoebox. When it came time to resign, I actually wanted to resign, mostly because I just didn't want to move, but they raised my rent another $100 while every other apartment around it was lowering rent (a neighboring building lowered rent to $2400 for a 1 bed). They quoted "the amenities" as the reason for raising. There's a micro gym with a subscription-less peloton, okay cool, so it's a regular bike. There's a lounge area they kick you out of at 9 or 10pm. There's no pool. There's no hot tub. There's a dog washing station that everyone pays the water bill for (even if they don't have a dog). The parking situation in there was also horrible. You pay 150 a month for parking in these stacker/car elevator things. It takes 2 minutes to call your car's spot, this can be kind of annoying when everyone's trying to get to work in the morning and you're the 4th person in line. 2 minutes to call the spot, 2 minutes for them to leave, that adds up, but honestly that'd be fine if they worked 100% of the time. But in reality, they were broken all the time. The software would break and leave the stacker unusable until a tech came out to reset the system the next day. So now you can't park in the spot you pay a lot of money for. I came back from SF a few times late at night, and couldn't park, great. So they tell you to just leave your car somewhere in the garage and pray someone doesn't hit your car because its a tight space. They also do maintenance on the system to fix it every few months and ask everyone to move their cars to an outside parking lot for a few hours while they work on it. People also hit the stackers all the time - this isn't the apartments problem per se, but the garage was designed in such a way that some of the parking spots are right up against the wall or right up against a pillar. Its just bad design, and that damage meant the stackers were frequently down. Random people would always have their cars parked in the garage too during events in downtown, I'm all for not paying unnecessary parking fees, but when it blocks people who pay 150 a month + way too much rent, it gets annoying, and the apartment never did anything about it.
