This review is long overdue but I wanted to share the wonderful experience we had buying a Robson Home. We have been living in our house for over a year now and we are still in love with every aspect our new home. They put in a lot of work and care into each home and take great pride in making sure everything is perfect. Christina, our agent we worked with, went above and beyond throughout the whole process. It was our first time buying a home and of course it was daunting but Christina made it so easy. Our situation was a little unique but Christina was always so patient walking us through the process, always advocating for us, and answering any questions we had. We loved working with her so much and would recommend her to any new homebuyer. She even gave my daughter a canvas of her favorite animals at closing! Towards the end of the process, we worked closely with Nick who made sure that any issues we had with the house was addressed prior to closing. He was extremely helpful and prompt with connecting us with the right contractors and even answered my questions a year post warranty. An Update after I moved in!!! I still love this beautiful house, but dealing with countless small issues and enduring the frustrating experience with the builder's customer service has been truly disappointing. I never expected to be educated, argued with, lied to, and denied legitimate concerns after purchasing a over $3M+ home. If I had known the builder's customer service would be like this, I would have reconsidered my decision--again and again! The customer service director, Art, implied me--a homeowner--of creating a fake video just to get them to replace dimmer switches that costs $20-$30/each, all because of the flickering issues. They call this a luxury home, but true luxury doesn't come with such a terrible customer service experience. Buying a home should be about creating good memories, not constant frustration. Everything seemed perfect before closing, but many issues remain unresolved. At this point, I hesitate to even reach out to customer service because I still have to live here. Thanks for your response Anthony. We appreciate the actions you took on that morning for resolving the toilet overflow and clogging issues. We have gone through many rounds of communications through emails/phone calls about this issue. For this public forum (Yelp), I would like to take the chance to clarify a number of things. 1. The two pieces of debris you found (and you claimed which clogged the pipe) are NOT baby wipes. They are culinary napkins commonly found for takeouts. We never use this kind of napkins in our household so it is definitely not us flushing them through the toilet. We have clearly showed you the pictures of the debris and proved they are not baby wipes. I don't know why you insist these are baby wipes. (Is it just because we have a kid at home?) 2. On that night I called you, you said you would come on the next Morning around 9:00 am. When you knocked the door on the morning (around 9:00 am), you told me the plumber already unclogged the pipe and then you just showed me the debris (and claimed that they are baby wipes). There were many things that could happen in between the time (7:00 am) when you came and the time when you knocked my door (9:00 am). Unfortunately, I was not given the chance to witness what the plumber exactly did to the pipe so there could be other stuff clog it. Why are you SO sure the clogging is just due to the debris you identified? Moreover, as a brand-new construction, such a wide pipe can be easier clogged by the two pieces of debris with only 4 days of occupancy? 3. I agree that we took the ownership of the house for over 30 days. However, the workers from Robson home still had access to my house as well for over 30 days since there was a key left to them for fixing some small issues in the house. During that time period, we hadn't moved into the house yet so anything could happen out of our sight. 4. You did arrange for the cleaning and mitigation work. I appreciate this. However, all the costs of the cleaning, mitigation and restoration are actually out of our pocket. So there is nothing you can be proud of here. I admit I was very frustrated when I left the first review on the night when the overflow happened. However, I am actually more disappointed on how the Customer Care takes care of this issue for their customers. From all the conversations I have had with them, together with the reply they left on Yelp, they kept defending themselves and showed little sympathy. I don't think my review can change anything already happened so far. However, I just want to take the chance to leave a notice here for the future buyers to be aware of the customer care issue when they make decisions of buying a house from Robson home. read more

We recently purchased a Robson Homes @Finch Hollow - Milpitas. We always had a very high opinion of Robson Homes. We missed an opportunity to buy Orchard Heights, Fremont before and did not want to miss this one. So, we committed to a Catalina plan here. To level-set, this is not our first experience of buying a new home. We have bought properties from KB Home before. So, we kept on comparing the qualitative differences in our heads as we went through the process. The interactions were wonderful !! We started with with Roya and Lee-Ann from Day 1. They both understood what we were looking for, made good recommendations and partnered with us adequately throughout the process. At time, we thought Sales were slightly less flexible about the changes we requested, but we also understand that they have a schedule to keep and don't want to open options beyond whats already there. So, that was alright with us. Thanks Roya and Lee-Ann - you have been amazing partners. After few weeks, they sent us to a design center in Dublin. This was nothing like what we had experienced before. Merlyn, our design partner, worked with us for over 6 hours helping us identify every small things that will help us express our personalities in the house and make it inviting overall. Her design acumen was extraordinary. We felt, we were only limited by our imagination. The design center had thousands of choices to choose from. Be it floor, quarts, lights, grouts - you name it. But we did not get overwhelmed because of her guidance. The experience was very gratifying. During every few weeks of construction, they invited us to visit progress and showed us the incremental work they did towards the closure. It was also very gratifying to be a part of the journey. Towards the end, we worked with Daniel on closing out the last few items. It was a pleasure working with him. At all times, he knew the current state of things for our house and went above and beyond every time I had asked him for anything. Thank you Daniel !! Once the house was ready, we worked with Art (customer service director). I can say with enormous amount of confidence that he is by far the best customer service professional I have worked with, period !! Every time, I have sent him an email, he followed through either with a visit or a phone call. It is not impossible to have few minor issues as we are settling in the house. But what's important is - how we are treated AFTER the purchase. For that - Art definitely gets A+++. There was a recent incident where he called back late evening from a family gateway and troubleshot the issue with me on the phone where the issue had nothing to do with Robson constructions (it was squarely my fault). He never said NO even for once. What also impresses me about him is - his knowledge of things. Just when I would tell him a problem, he immediately would know where to look. This shows the years of professional experience he has working on projects like these. ART - You are an amazing partner !!! As promised, once my backyard is ready - you are invited for a BBQ party Lastly, I also like to thank Anthony. I worked with him few times after hours and every time I got the support I needed. We purchased a Robson home close to 2 years ago. What we liked - Good floorplans, good attention to details in terms of usability in the home. What we do not like - The customer service, the quality of their work. The quality of work is shoddy. We had so many things listed in our final home walk-through list. At move-in time several weeks after the walk-through, we found that NONE of the items had been addressed. They promised to do that after move-in. It took us more than a year and multiple follow-ups to get all those items completed, if at all. It was a very frustrating experience. The time and effort we put in to chase their customer service down was not something I expected when purchasing a brand new $2M+ home. They have made some dangerous design choices like using dry stacked rock walls (not mortared) at the edges of lawns and at the base of fruit trees. Kids and adults in our community have accidentally fallen from them. These walls are difficult to restack as well. The residents wrote 2 letters to the management to fix this issue. They mortared even the lowest of the rock walls around their temporary sales office and selectively for 2 houses in the community, but failed to even respond to the issues the residents noted in the letters. This showed us that they have their backs covered with potential threats around the sales office and do not care about the families residing in their communities. A lot of residents in our community are beyond frustrated with their attitude. Our take-away after dealing with the Robson Homes folks for so long is that they will care about you only until your money moves from your pocket to theirs. My advice is to ring doorbells and talk to as many existing home-owners as you can, before you decide to buy a Robson Home. read more

I had a small issue with the front door lock being loose which prevented the door from being closed tightly. Within a day, I contacted customer service and a representative named Anthony immediately came to my service on schedule and fixed the issue with my door. I definitely recommend their services as they have been responsive and efficient in getting the job done. Anthony, in particular, was very courteous and helpful in explaining the cause of the issue and incredibly efficient in resolving it. It was also very considerate for him to wear a mask during our appointment as we are currently in these troubling times of the COVID-19 Pandemic, so safety is guaranteed. read more

Bought a Robson home last summer. The house and the buying process is ok, but they sure know how to get the most out of you. Their salesperson at the Fremont location, Roya Gardere, really duped us. Much of the back-and-forth negotiation seemed like just a tactic to get us to pay more instead of an honest explanation of the situation. But then I guess this is what they are paid to do. The worst part is that she had told us they would pay for our closing costs, but when we signed the contract, it wasn't in there. You could say we should have read the documents more carefully, but there was so much paperwork and signing of documents that it feels like it'd be hard for even a lawyer to catch all the details. We ended up signing the contract without knowing that it didn't include the closing costs and we came out feeling tricked. They gave us a doggy-door to compensate for the "miscommunication", but that was probably a couple hundred buck at most, compared to the thousands of dollars in closing fees that we lost. Some of our neighbors felt that they were tricked too, about different from ours. The home itself is fine. Build quality is ok, but some neighbors have had some more problems than we have. The HOA seems expensive for what we get too, and dealing with them hasn't a great experience. In this area and this day and age, to have a new house in a decent location means you either pay a king's ransom or be happy with the tiny lots quality issues. Or both. Don't get me wrong--I feel pretty happy and blessed to be living in a new home, but obviously, no home builder is perfect and some are better than others. This is my first time buying a home, so it's hard for me to compare with other builders, but on an absolute basis, I feel our experience with Robson could have been a lot better. They need to work on issues in purchasing experience, the ownership experience, and the home quality. read more

Robson homes make good quality and well designed houses. They have very professional staff and responsive team in all fronts -- sales, load agent, quality and customer services. If you like their products and their homes, I think it's hard to find comparable properties out there. You may find house that are lower in price, but i think it's challenging to find the same quality builds in the bay area. There are pros and cons about working out a deal with Robson homes -- same as any other business transaction. Bottom line is, will I buy another house with them? and the answer is yes, of course! Simply because their product is outstanding and their services are personal & professional. Most people got emotional about buying their house and wanting to be serviced as a king/queen; putting things into perspective, I think Robson home hired professional to take care of their business and take care of their customers. Lee Ann was amazing and we all could tell she cared about all of her customers. Then after you pay, customer service takes over and it is horrible. They are a joke. It is like pulling teeth to get them to do simple things...every time. It is understandable that a house will have some flaws, but Robson/customer service should make sure that these flaws are addressed since these are new multimillion dollar homes instead of fighting with their customers. Yeah, except those homes are half the price of the place we were interested in. We didn't act or look like millionaires, so we couldn't possibly have been serious about his place I guess. This blatant discrimination turned out to be a good thing though.
