I needed a date of death appraisal. Greg was helpful, informative, prompt and professional as he patiently explained and set expectations with the process and timeline before and after I selected him. There are others who have multiple five-star or near five-star reviews, but he has more positive reviews and charges less than the others - win/win. I appreciate how easy it is to work with him. read more

Greg was quick to respond, very thorough in explaining all the potential options and their pros / cons and respective costs, and the utmost professional when he arrived and did the inspection himself. I worked with Greg on an appraisal for our condo. He's kind, thorough, and very responsive. I highly recommend Greg and his team.

I needed a retrospective real estate appraisal. Greg was recommended to me by a local realtor, a friend of a friend. He answered my query promptly, asked me a few questions and gave me a very reasonable quote. He came out 2 weeks later and spent 90 minutes looking over the property and the house and taking pictures. The appraisal was in my email 2 days later. (I had requested email for correspondence.) He was professional and friendly and had obviously done his homework before he came. I would definitely use him again if I need another appraisal in the future. read more

I needed my mother's house appraised upon her death. We screened several appraisers, non of whom came to the house to see the inside. I was referred to Parkside from a friend's realtor. From our initial phone call, we were very impressed with Greg's professionalism. I was thrilled Greg offered an in-person appraisal. He also has several pre-meeting questions which were helpful. On the day of the appraisal, Greg was prompt, organized, knowledgeable and most off all EXTREMELY kind. He explained his process and answered my questions. Our finished appraisal is extremely thorough and comprehensive. We had several follow up questions which Greg patiently answered. Greg knows the housing market well. He is a man of integrity and offers exceptional customer service. Should we require another appraisal, I will certainly use Parkside. read more

I found Greg happenstance via Yelp and boy, was I lucky. We were looking for an appraisal to submit to the city for remodel purposes and our previous one was not very helpful. Greg stepped in and he explained clearly how these work. I hadn't even hired him at that point but he was kind enough to explain the nuances and offered suggestions. I hired him during the course of the conversation itself and he sent out his associate the next day given the time crunch we were in. Report was available the day after. Communication was crisp, clear and no BS. Cost was very reasonable. I would highly recommend Greg and Parkside. read more

For estate and tax purposes I needed an appraisal for my parent's house in Burlingame after my mother passed away. Via Yelp, I sent out a number of requests for an appraisal and Greg responded in less than an hour. We set up an appointment that I had to reschedule and which Greg graciously accommodated. No more than 48 hours after Greg did the appraisal inspection I received a detailed 36-page report. What more can you ask for? read more

My Mom passed away recently and an appraisal is necessary for tax purpose. As a realtor, I asked fellow realtors for recommendations. Just out of curiosity, I checked Yelp. Came across Parkside Appraisal Services, Inc with five stars. I called Greg who answered the phone in less than three rings. · Gave me a run down of his services and fees · Asked me to choose one of four options without any pressure to upsell as all four options are acceptable by IRS · Suggested appraisal to be done two months after death for comparables to close escrow · Appraisal was completed in two days, on a Sunday! Greg's fees are reasonable. His communication and service are impeccable. Definitely will use Greg again and recommend him to others. read more

Very impressed and 100% satisfied with Parkside Appraisal Services! Our appraisal needs were for FEMA which very few people know about, so it is Greek and Latin to most. It was a breeze with Greg who was a pro on the subject. He was very flexible with the scheduling, transparent with the communication and extremely prompt with providing the appraisal report. He didn't even ask me for a check when he left. In addition to being an extremely qualified professional, he was such a kind, nice and friendly person. I will be coming back here for any future needs and wholeheartedly recommend their services for anyone seeking appraisals. read more

3 stars because no services were contracted or performed, but contact was made. I called because I need a home appraised as part of a division of assets. I was told this firm does not perform services for my situation as the two sides mat attempt to exert influence to manipulate the results. Which just seems... odd. If you're a professional performing services to determine the market value of a physical asset, the supplications of the owners is irrelevant. You should be able to provide a professional service, and the emotional reaction of any party in relation to that asset is irrelevant. Ultimately, a private business can elect to operate however it wishes, but if they really feel their work could be influenced by people coaxing them one way or the other rather than DATA, I have to question their overall reliability. read more

My dad recently passed away and we needed to find an appraiser to provide us with the valuation report of our properties. I sent a request for a quote via Yelp and Greg responded almost immediately. He provided me with a few options and I picked what was best. Originally, I wanted 2 different appraisals for the same property. One at the date of death and one 6 months after. He wrote back with a quick summary of the market trends on the two dates and based on that information, I decided to go with just one appraisal. He could've made extra money off of me with the 2nd appraisal, but instead he wanted to help me save money. I truly appreciate his honesty and professional insight. He really went above and beyond to help us figure out what we really needed. Thank you so much Greg for helping me and my family during this difficult time. read more

I am a career residential appraiser in Los Angeles. I am recommending Greg Schnetz and Parkside Appraisal based on two estate-level appraisals that we needed to update family trust "estate appraisals" and for tax purposes in the Bay Area. Greg is recommended for Tax appraisal work - estate appraisals - step up - etc. and I recommend him for the variety of private party appraisals that are often needed outside of the lending environment. Personally, I pride myself on communication, adherence to time commitments, and quality of the work itself in order to maintain the high standards that are required to set yourself apart from every-day appraisers and believe me when I say I've seen a lot a bad appraisal work. As an industry peer and based on the quality of the appraisals he did for my family, I am giving Greg 5 stars. read more
