Appraisal was rushed and finished in one day with a low ball price. She used a comp almost 2 years old and included a home not in this area. Plenty of high comps over looked and took the easy way out. Save your time and money by not using her very high appraisal costs!! She charged me double of $2200 for a $1200 job. I had offers $600K higher four months ago. I should have check out her bad review before accepting this dead end person. Now I know why she rushed my appointment after she had a cancellation. Stay away from any bad appraisers that only want the high fees to do a job. read more

I worked with Christine Walker related to my parents' house. Based on the negative reviews that some folks have left, I think Christine must have an evil twin somewhere. I found Christine to be highly professional, her appraisal was not out of line with others or the neighborhood, and she was quick and prompt. But that is not why I'm leaving this review. Anyone can be good. Christine was excellent. First, she showed great sensitivity and respect for the fact that we are in a pandemic and my parents are late 80s/early 90s. She arrived with a mask on (some vendors had to be asked) and she asked members of the household to open anything that needed to be opened. But more impressively, despite her jam-packed schedule, she worked with us to help my parents meet a critical deadline. Making an appointment for the appraisal was easy. Christine showed up on time and had prepared me so that I could make all areas needed for inspection available. Christine took notes as I pointed out upgrades to include in the valuation. She produced her report in a timely fashion with a valuation that I believe, as a real estate agent, was fair market value. Absolutely agree with all the poor reviews. Christine does not understand customer service nor does she follow covid-19 cdc guidelines. Her only goal is get paid and she spent 15 minutes at the house, took a few pictures and provided a horrible report with zero insights. We do not care about the actual value since our LTV is very low but would not use them again under any circumstances. Avoid at all costs! read more

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Worst appraisal service ever. They don't know what they're doing. If your bank wants to use them "JUST SAY NO!" I had the exact same experience with them. Very low valuation, lower than two appraisals that were done within six months even though values had gone up significantly. They used an extremely low comp from a tear-down TWO YEARS AGO even though this is San Jose and there are a ton of newer comps, and they ignored a comp that was 2X the value on the same street that sold within two months. When questioned, they came up with a BS excuse. If you want an inaccurate, low ball appraisal that is not good for anyone (you or the bank) and no customer service, use Walker. They show anyone can become a horrible appraiser. read more

I had a horrible experience with Walker Appraisal. First of all, the appraiser was very unfriendly. This wouldn't have been a big deal if she had done her job correctly. There were several factual errors on the final appraisal, which negatively impacted the appraised value. The appraisal had an impact on my home loan re-finance. I had to call several times and leave messages before anyone would return my call. I informed them of the errors but I was told that they didn't have the time to correct them. I sent them an email with a list of the errors, but never got a response. The biggest factor in an appraisal is the comparables. I would hope any good appraiser would know to choose sales of as similar houses as possible to use as comps. They are getting paid to do this research. The appraiser at Walker did not do her due diligence to find comparables that made any sense in accessing my home value. She used condos as a comparable to a single family home. This makes no sense. read more

Wish I saw the previous reviews before we let her come appraise our home when our bank sent her. She came back with a value even less than our previous appraisal done 3 years ago, and way way less than Redfin, Zillow, comparables and other tools. Unbelievable! read more

If a bank ever sends Walker Appraisal your way, request another appraiser ASAP. We had a desktop appraisal done for our property in order to get a home equity line of credit. We could have used this appraisal to get our line funded BUT we felt a full appraisal was sure to get us mroe considering the renovation in our home. We were in horrified shock when the appraisal came in significantly lower than the desktop appraisal the bank gave us. We therefore paid for an appraisal that significantly reduced our credit line. The comps the appraiser selected were nothing that could be compared to our home - quality of home, location, etc. We gambled without knowing we were gambling. I contacted the appraiser (Christine Walker) who told me she couldn't discuss the appraisal with me. I have yet to even get a copy of the appraisal I paid for from Walker. I understand the need for appraisers to be conservative but this situation wasn't about being conservative, it was about not taking the time to do your job correctly. We feel the appraiser didn't research the comps fully...she was at our home one afternoon and had the appraisal to the bank the next morning.....so when exactly was the research done? I had to have an appraisal done on my parent's house after my father passed away. I have absolutely no issues at all. The appraisal was done quickly and very professionally, I received the hard copy of the appraisal in a very timely . Zero stars for Christine Walker at Walker Appraisal! In less than 10 minutes she "appraised" the house I am trying to buy. She came from out of area and obviously did not do any research. The comps she used were outdated and obvious recents comps were not used. The value came up short on what the accepted offer price was, and after filing a very well researched rebuttal from people who have decades of experience in the field with a much better understanding of the area, she still did not budge. Matters have been taken up with people higher up than her and will hopefully be sorted out. I can only hope that Christine Walker will be out of a job in the field of appraisals, since she shows an extremely lack of knowledge and professionalism.
