So I opened up my trusty Yelp App looking for a breakfast place that was open. At almost 11:00 I found this little Pinehurst Diner in Perry Ga. It was off of I-75 in a rural area. When we got there, I sent David in to look at the menu. It was thumbs up and there were only 3 tables inside. The people were so friendly! We ordered a bacon, veggie, cheese omelet, mine with hash browns and a biscuit and David's with grits. They made us fresh coffee in giant cups and it tasted wonderful. The omelets were done to perfection! Don't get excited- l shared some of mine with the Freck! This was the best breakfast we had in a long time and we go out for breakfast quite often! Reasonably priced, friendly staff and delicious food! Who could ask for anything more!

My husband had the steak and eggs and swapped his grits for hash browns. My daughter ordered a pancake meal and she actually ate everything! She said it was some of the best pancakes she's ever had. We were not disappointed. We got there 30 min before closing because we looked on google and it said they close at 6 when really they close at 1:30 They were very kind. The food was delicious. We both got a burger & potato salad. My husband burger was missing the egg so they immediately took it back and fixed it. The ambiance of the place is so nostalgic. Love the train station setting. We sat next to the window and could see the train tracks. We will return!

I don't usually go for Southern food, but I'm glad I stopped by to The Swanson. Interior wise, it's…read morelike a house turned restaurant business. The foundation is still there with the rooms and decor but with lots of tables set up, similar to hosting a gathering at home. Not only that, everyone here was really friendly! We really felt welcomed, and though the second time, service wasn't as outstanding, it was still good. I think they really nailed down the vibe of southern hospitality. For drinks, they have seasonal cocktails, which I think is fun, but I'm not around at a time where I would be able to chill and drink. I end up with a go-to sweet tea. Strong and sweet, that it kept me up, but not the strongest nor sweetest I've had. There's also complimentary bread that's mini muffin shaped and dense like a biscuit. It's buttery and salty, but I like it! Before coming, I saw so many things about the sampler, so I definitely wanted to get it and try out. Love the fried green tomatoes with the honey mustard. It didn't feel oily, and it held up pretty well when cut and dipped into sauce. The pimento cheese here is probably the best I've ever had, but I will admit that I have not had many (I tend to not like it). In fact, both these items stay on my mind enough that I do think about coming here more often than I thought I would. And this is just for the apps. The rest of the entrees are pretty standard. Some better than others, but that's due to preference. I haven't gone through the whole menu, but I do prefer their chicken to some of the other menu items. For their sides, I haven't seen or heard of some of them. I asked about them, and they were described p well, enough for me to not want to try congealed salad. I'm not a big fan of jello type things, but I did try the pear salad. Not for me. Absolutely not for me. I did really enjoy the collard green soup and sweet potato souffle though! They were great, esp the souffle. It was my first time having nuts in them, and I loved it so much. Everything else was alright, like I'm sure you've had or can make better mac. Overall, I'm glad to know this place because it's a good rec for the area if you're in the mood for Southern food. It's not a bad pick for vegetarians either, though they would only have appetizers and sides to pick from, but I liked them more than the entrees. There's a parking lot, and it's in a good location to see the rest of downtown Perry too.

RailHouse was close to the tracks with plenty of parking and a lot of empty stores on the street. The inside was nice but the view to the outside was made possible only through dirty windows. A nice beer selection and I had the RailHoiuse, which was very good. In addition, tried the Fried Green Tomatoes which were hot and full of flavor with a great breading. Wings came out lukewarm, as if they were precooked and waiting but sauce was good (Buffalo),, and also closed o it the meal with a great Fried Chicken Salad. Stacey took good care of us and was very pleasant though out the meal. Pool tables an additional at in the next room, outside seating available.

Disappointing, but I understand and quickly assessed my lunch options. We decided to order an appetizer and then split a lunch plate. For the appetizer we got the loaded fries, since they were hand cut as we were sitting there. Overall the loaded fries were okay. I think they went too heavy on the cheese and the other noticeable thing was that the cinnamon in the chili was a little stronger than I would have liked. For lunch it was a Big Sexy Burger which had a double burger, pimento cheese, bacon jam and maybe some other stuff. But those items mentioned sold me on trying it. My only criticism about the burger would be the pimento cheese, it seemed to be heavy on the mayo and not as much cheese, but overall a decent burger. I think the real star of the meal was the onion rings, I would definitely recommend these. Now that we tried their lunch, I am looking forward to trying their breakfast menu.
