Great little small farm town diner in Unadilla, GA. All the locals come here to eat lunch and get the daily special. If you come, get the special. The special today was two fried pork chops, mashed potatoes and gravy, Mac and cheese, green beans, fresh tomato, roll, and cake for under $10. One order was more than enough for both my wife and I. It is only open until 2 pm, so mainly a lunch place. Very few menu items for vegetarians/vegans. Definitely old style - loved it!

Ok. Ok. Ok... Go off the beaten path to find your local diner or dive considering this place! Soon as you walk in, you are hit with the mildew smell of a old building. No one was in the place. Hmmm... We sit down to order breakfast. Attempted again attempted to order eggs over easy, hash browns, sausage. Typical American type breakfast! Waitress tells me only scrambled, no hash browns, grits, sausage, toast. Ok, so I order what they had! Huge mistake! Eggs were pre made and had been sitting just like the rest of food! Terrible and an insult to all off the road local triple D's! Don't waste your time nor gas nor money on this true dive!

Great food. Great atmosphere. Friendly staff (except for Mary). The daily lunch specials are very good. The fresh fish and shrimp on Friday night are some of the best around. Make sure to try the fresh cut French fries. They're great!

Don't be fooled by the building or decor, the food and service here are excellent. We especially enjoyed the grilled pork chops.

So I opened up my trusty Yelp App looking for a breakfast place that was open. At almost 11:00 I found this little Pinehurst Diner in Perry Ga. It was off of I-75 in a rural area. When we got there, I sent David in to look at the menu. It was thumbs up and there were only 3 tables inside. The people were so friendly! We ordered a bacon, veggie, cheese omelet, mine with hash browns and a biscuit and David's with grits. They made us fresh coffee in giant cups and it tasted wonderful. The omelets were done to perfection! Don't get excited- l shared some of mine with the Freck! This was the best breakfast we had in a long time and we go out for breakfast quite often! Reasonably priced, friendly staff and delicious food! Who could ask for anything more!

The foundation is still there with the rooms and decor but with lots of tables set up, similar to hosting a gathering at home. Not only that, everyone here was really friendly! We really felt welcomed, and though the second time, service wasn't as outstanding, it was still good. I think they really nailed down the vibe of southern hospitality. For drinks, they have seasonal cocktails, which I think is fun, but I'm not around at a time where I would be able to chill and drink. I end up with a go-to sweet tea. Strong and sweet, that it kept me up, but not the strongest nor sweetest I've had. There's also complimentary bread that's mini muffin shaped and dense like a biscuit. It's buttery and salty, but I like it! Before coming, I saw so many things about the sampler, so I definitely wanted to get it and try out. Love the fried green tomatoes with the honey mustard. It didn't feel oily, and it held up pretty well when cut and dipped into sauce. The pimento cheese here is probably the best I've ever had, but I will admit that I have not had many (I tend to not like it). In fact, both these items stay on my mind enough that I do think about coming here more often than I thought I would. And this is just for the apps. The rest of the entrees are pretty standard. Some better than others, but that's due to preference. I haven't gone through the whole menu, but I do prefer their chicken to some of the other menu items. For their sides, I haven't seen or heard of some of them. I asked about them, and they were described p well, enough for me to not want to try congealed salad. I'm not a big fan of jello type things, but I did try the pear salad. Not for me. Absolutely not for me. I did really enjoy the collard green soup and sweet potato souffle though! They were great, esp the souffle. It was my first time having nuts in them, and I loved it so much. Everything else was alright, like I'm sure you've had or can make better mac. Overall, I'm glad to know this place because it's a good rec for the area if you're in the mood for Southern food. It's not a bad pick for vegetarians either, though they would only have appetizers and sides to pick from, but I liked them more than the entrees. There's a parking lot, and it's in a good location to see the rest of downtown Perry too.

Remember, I'm at the bar where all the servers are at. And they were not that busy. It was Mother's Day. I was traveling and by myself on a hard day as my Mom passed away 2 years ago, and my mom always enjoyed local mom and pop restaurants so I had never been to this place. And when she did she said she was training a new person, ok???? How about trying to train her to take care of customers!! I ordered. And 27 minutes later, NOTHING! For just eggs and biscuits and gravy! She never even came back to me for water. Rude rude!! I finally just walked out. Unbelievable! I spend a lot of time there at the fairgrounds and will make sure I tell all to stay away. I was very disappointed!

Disappointing, but I understand and quickly assessed my lunch options. We decided to order an appetizer and then split a lunch plate. For the appetizer we got the loaded fries, since they were hand cut as we were sitting there. Overall the loaded fries were okay. I think they went too heavy on the cheese and the other noticeable thing was that the cinnamon in the chili was a little stronger than I would have liked. For lunch it was a Big Sexy Burger which had a double burger, pimento cheese, bacon jam and maybe some other stuff. But those items mentioned sold me on trying it. My only criticism about the burger would be the pimento cheese, it seemed to be heavy on the mayo and not as much cheese, but overall a decent burger. I think the real star of the meal was the onion rings, I would definitely recommend these. Now that we tried their lunch, I am looking forward to trying their breakfast menu.
