I came here for St Pattys day. This place was fairly packed and there was nowhere to sit. We ended up finding a table against the wall and grabbing chairs from other tables to make our own so we got by fine :) I got the stromboli. It was decent. There was definitely a lot of crust unfortunately and that was pretty disappointing. I will say that I was happy that they were able to make a black and tan. That totally made my night and made me feel a little better. Overall though this place wasn't too bad and I'd probably go back just to try some other things on the menu. read more

I've been to the 18th amendment several times and have had a great experience each time. We've had everything from sandwiches to pizza to calzones. All were above average in quality.While they advertise the best pizza in town, I would not go that far, but it is excellent. The servers are all excellent, but Amber is totally awesome. Service was pretty poor. Ordered a beer from the tap menu. Then server came back and said they don't have that one anymore. No biggie. Ordered bottles instead. Took her 30 min to come back to take our orders. Took 20 min to get the food. Both entrees were wrong and not what we ordered. No silverware. Orders were corrected. Still no water. Sandwich was gross. Calzone was good. After finishing, took 20 min to get the check. She never came back to get our payment. We had to go find her to pay! We watched a different server at a neighboring table and that server was very attentive. So maybe we just caught ours on a bad night. New to town so wanted to try a place that is always mentioned by locals as having good food. No wonder why they never mentioned service- because frankly, it was seriously lacking in that department. I'm from NY so I'm used to going to crude restaurants where the service is so so but this was ridiculous. We walked in; no hostess or waitress greeted us so we stood there idiotically for 5 minutes, then found an empty table directly in front of the view of the bar and several waitresses and bartenders.We sat there for 15 minutes while waitresses glanced our way and kept moving as if there were an invisible barrier between either of us. It was a little busy But a small group of three came in, took an empty table and were greeted in 5 minutes. We left and we will never go back and now familiarizing ourselves with the town and making friends with other people that come through here; when we are asked about this place, we look back and tell them of our experience, turning a ton of people off to that atmosphere. Even one of our business lunches were changed from being arranged for the 18th Amendment to another we found more customer friendly/oriented. It's a shame as we heard the food was good. This place has a nice atmosphere and excellent service. I have not been here during the late-night hours; just dinnertime on weeknights. The 18th Amendment has the best Philly sandwich I have ever had. Great juicy beef with no shortage of peppers and onions mixed in. Very reasonable prices on the food and the beer. Be sure to make a stop here in October-- the Halloween decorations are awesome! read more

I've been to 18th Amendment a bunch of times since I moved to town and I have to say it's one of my favorite hang outs. They have twofers for 6 hours, 1-7 m-f and 11-5 on weekends, every day of the week. During football games they have good food specials. I've not had anything bad there, the pizzas are outstanding -and it's one of the few places in town where you can order just a slice. The appetizers are great for sharing, even the side of fries is too big for one person. The bar staff is super friendly and the service has always been great. They have a ton of TVs so even during a busy game day you can find the one you want. On Mondays the games are free: pool, big buck hunter, etc. great hang out. read more

Came in for a few beers! I sat down and the waitress looked at me and said No you can take it! I just got off work so I wasnt dressed well enough I guess! So my waitress was so busy she could only stop because her sections was all over the bar while the lazy waitress( Josie) could stand there and talk on her phone. So I decided to tip my waitress 15.00 on a 29.00 tab! pretty good but not good enough for Amy! she took the copies and didnt even say Thank you! I thought wells she is too busy! but the while I was finishing up she sat down and started eating! I am not a regular!!! so I guess they could careless because as soon as a table full of guys sat next to me Josie was all over them! The 18th is a great place to go after work, or during the week! Their staff is great and their pizza is fantastic!

By far the best bar in Sioux Falls! The pizza is delicious (and served until close) and there seems to be amazing drink specials every time I go in! To top that off the service is unbeatable and atmosphere is great for people of all ages! I always make a point to bring my friends into this bar when they are visiting from out of town and everyone seems to be equally impressed! My mother-in-law and I have been to 18th twice for lunch. Their lunch servers are understaffed and rushed. We asked to sit on the patio and were told they were too busy. They place was not that packed. Food - Burgers are not good. Takes forever to get your meal! read more

This place is open only for those over 18. And they have a reason for that, which is printed on their menu. I really like the pizza here and they different combinations that you won't find at other pizza places to choose from. I've also had a sandwich and also not disappointed. You seat yourself but the servers are all pretty decent. Their happy hour has good drink specials as well. The place fills up pretty quick and people tend to stay a long time, so get there early, especially on the weekends or during games. read more

ok - one we might like - went in for Buzztime&drinks&bar food about 4 till about 6. Happy Hour special is from 1-7PM 2fers - but you get them at the same time!! Why not put one on ice till we want it?! At $4.25 a bottle of beer its kinda steep. We didn't stay as long as we have before.Also my fries were salty but Rob got me another batch in no time! He was attentive, even refilling my water 4 times!A suggestion would be to serve calzones and any other food that needs a knife&fork on A REAL PLATE! The paper makes a mess and ends up in my mouth!! I am from Mitchell & had been at this place twice before this past Friday (9/9/16). Nice bar and great patio. I wanted to bring a bring over from Mitchell to show him my new favorite spot while in Sioux Falls. Drove over just for that reason and to hang out in the patio for a few hours. It was a big mistake! Sat down & the bar maid asked what we wanted to drink & were served immediately & given a menu. That was just about the end of the service! A good 15 minutes went by before she returned to take our order. I can say it was at least 15 minutes because our drinks were nearly gone! She was standing over by the cash register and finally asked if we were ready to order. Apparently I was louder than I thought because under my breath, I said to my friend, "Ya, about a 1/2 hour ago"! She heard me and gave me a nasty look. I admit, I was exaggerating, but 15 minutes is a bit ridiculous. I ordered Buffalo Chicken Wraps, and my friend did not order food. This waitress was beyond slow. I waited another 20 minutes for my food and the place was not that busy.....maybe 5 or 6 at the bar and only about 20 in the entire place and that included the patio. I watched the guy in the kitchen place my order on the kitchen pickup window. It sat there for a good 5 minutes before she went over to get it. When I got it, it was cold as were the potato wedges. This bartender /waitress was too busy walking around singing to herself (that alone was enough to make you want to leave), to pay attention to her customers. I can only describe her as being in her 30's or 40's......she appeared to be in the "family way." While sitting there eating, my friend finally got her attention and asked if he could have a tooth pick. She replied - "Certainly, just give me a minute." We sat there for another 15 minutes while I was eating.....he never did get the toothpick. He finally asked another waitress (rather large lady) for a toothpick and she brought him 2 right away. That was the extent of anything remotely close to good service. After I finished eating at 1:00, we decided to go and hang out in the patio. We took our beers and moved out there. We sat there for two hours with empty beer glasses and never once had the waitress ask us if we needed anything! My friend went inside and got himself another beer sometime during this time period. The waitress working the patio moved around to a few other tables at least twice, but never once to our table and it wasn't as though we were hiding in a corner somewhere! She was a younger lady in her late 20's or early 30's. At 3:10, the "singing waitress" that initially waited on us inside came out to the patio. I asked her if they sold sweatshirts because it was a bit nippy out on the patio. I was prepared to buy two....one for each of us. I asked her what colors they had. She said only Black.....they have a zipper front with a hoodie, and the cost would be $22.00 each. I asked her to bring two, and she replied, "I'll bring you out one to look at." Another 1/2 hour went by and she never came back. The younger waitress who would not wait on us came near our table and I said, "Excuse me Miss.....The other waitress/bartender told me you had sweatshirts and she was going to bring one out for us to look at & never came back." She had this scowl on her faced and very rudely said, " Well there are only two of us working and we are busy!! If you want a sweatshirt, go into the Casino and get one - They sell them there"!! At that point, my friend and I got up and left. Rudeness is not an accurate description to describe her demeanor. I was extremely disappointed in the fact that I was "talking up" what a great atmosphere this bar had and couldn't wait to introduce him to the place. Unfortunately this bar not only lost beer sales and the sale of two sweatshirts, you lost two customers who will not return to the 18th Amendment. At approx. 4:00 we left to head back to Mitchell, and along the way we decided to stop at the Goats Bar & Grill in Hartford. I counted 27 people in the place. The person's name working was "Lynn". She was the bartender, waitress, cashier, and hostess. Extremely friendly and taking care of the entire place by herself. She was taking care of more people by herself than were 3 people at the 18th Amendment taking care of far less people in both the bar and in the patio. By the way, I am able to count to three and there were three waitresses/bartenders......not two as the young lady snapped back at me.barked at me. Management from the 18th Amendment should take staff to the Goat Bar & Grill for training. Your business will not survive with the lack of customer service that I & my friend experienced while I was at your establishment. Looking at all the other negative reviews that are posted on this site, I would think that management would be concerned. How does the owner feel about it?? read more
