Cheesy garlic sticks
Maggie Y.

Nice intimate casual restaurant! Even tho it's a small restaurant It's got multi-screen for sports fan! Nice bar area with extensive drafts and wine list! Had the cheesy garlic bread to share. I had the grilled fish taco as a main. It came in 3s with nicely grilled fish, fresh tomato salsa and this yummy cream sauce on the side! I asked for hot sauce to really give it a kick! Filling was just enough for the tacos to wrap nicely without being too messy! We also had the lobster salad which my friend couldn't stop raving abt! Yummy dressing! As well as spicy sausage bolognese! Delicious tomato sauce! The best part came the end with an in house made carrot cake! Layers of coconutty carrot cake separated by velvety cream cheese icing! Absolutely perfect ending to a great meal!! Kudos to the chef!

Ruben sandwich with a side spinach salad. South African Cab Sauvignon wine also very smooth and good!

Had the Ruben sandwich! It was so good and scrumptious! Had a side of the spinach salad as well, my favourite! Will definitely be back here again!

Upon entrance we were immediately greeted by the friendly hostess who asked if we had reservations. The "new" QC was packed and buzzing with energy. We didn't have reservations so a manager came quickly to see what was going on. He made space for us and got us seated right away. Lindsay was our server - very friendly and personable. She was attentive the entire time. We ordered two appetizers - coconut shrimp and nachos with chicken. Both came relatively quickly despite a full restaurant, were hot and flavourful. We'd order both again! Could've had more sour cream, salsa, guac, with the nachos, but I find that's fairly typical. For our mains, we had the curry chicken (quite spicy, flavourful, braised), haddock and chips (Friday special), kids cheeseburger and fries, chicken and shrimp stirfry, and a steak wrap. We also ordered wings to share. The fries that came out with the fish were cold, but when we told the server she brought a bowl of hot fries right away. No arguments. Everything was flavourful and delicious. Didn't have to wait too long to get our meals either. We liked all of our entrees and were happy that the fries were fresh - like chip truck fries - not frozen. You could tell everything was home made and made to order. A huge improvement from previous ownership! We also enjoyed seeing both managers/owners present on the floor. Both came by during our meal to ask how we were enjoying. Genuinely seemed to care about our experience. Another nice touch was live music - acoustic guitar and singer a bit later in the evening. We will be back!

Chicken wings were tasteless for chicken but had a weird soapy taste that not even the sauce could cover up. Wings were reheated at least 2 times come frozen and to save money they only get the 1 kind. .....breaded. Fries are old limp with no taste. Breakfast sausage were cheapest you can imagine.... extra msg and salt So mushy. spring rolls were all batter there were no Vietnamese rice wrapped ones. Bread is that Texas thick cheap stuff. Absolutely no quality what so ever.......none. I gave 1 star because coffee was good. Just a dive eatery.

Smashing good brunch?…read more Smash Kitchen has been on our list to visit for a while till we finally had the opportunity. For more than a dozen years, this Markham spot has been known for good flavors and portions. The weekend brunch menu from 10am - 2:45pm had an assortment of creative dishes. We opted for their LA mac & cheese ($25) with a saucy cheese blend textured by herb crumbles. The soft shell crab benedict ($24) looked irresistible with two nicely poached eggs beside crab drizzled with maple buffalo hot sauce. While it came with no sides, bites of the whole fried soft shell crab on brioche toast were scrumptious. The inside of this restaurant is cavernous, featuring even a private room and patio. It's much larger than the dated plaza entrance would indicate. Staff were generally active at the tables, even delivering colour sheets to young ones. Skip it or hit it? It was a long time coming but brunch here didn't disappoint. Hit it!

We were greeted…read morein fine, friendly fashion, and my husband and I both enjoyed the special cocktail of the day. My son had a Moscow Mule that was jazzed up in a very cool way. My daughter stuck to the tried-and-true diet pepsi, and our friendly waitstaff joked with her about her sobriety! Guess who drove home? The rest of us then moved on to the excellent wine list. For dinner, I had the very delicious lamb shank with greens, polenta, and honey-sweet heirloom beets. My daughter enjoyed a veal steak and my son enjoyed his succulent, heirloom roast chicken. My husband found his seafood pasta over-salted (he really is sensitive to that - I like my food well salted). I suggested that he ask for a wedge of lemon, but our friendly server offered an even better, bold suggestion: sambal oelek. True to word, it cut through the saltiness. He was so pleased. I was so surprised by this idea. I'll have to give sambal oelek a bit more consideration. The appetizers and desserts were delightful, and the entire meal was so fun and creative! I think that I'll come here on my birthday every year! See my previous reviews to find out my history at the wonderful KB Food! The bartender was friendly and knowledgeable, and when we moved to our table our server was also great. Cocktails were fabulous and the ambiance of the place is very nice. My wife ordered this vegetarian squash dish and she loved it. I ordered the steak and the cook was perfect but I found the sauce overpowering. It's personal preference, I like my steak with just salt and pepper without sauce. My fault for not reading the menu correctly. The sides of purée and veggies were great. Overall KB hits it out of the ballpark and is so much better than the chain upscale eateries.

My son devoured the entirety of his fish and chips, and it was a huge fillet. I had golden beer battered shrimp. The shrimp was plump and perfectly cooked. The batter is light and tasty. No honey mustard if that's what you like for your salad (fries for me). My son and husband really liked the Carolina gold sauce the kitchen recommended as an alternative. It's good and has a similar tang, just not for me. The ranch was solid. They have a limited beer and wine selection. We didn't notice they had a bar for mixed drinks until after the fact. The menu says they will offer local wines soon, which I like to see (and prefer to order) at local establishments. Service was excellent. The restaurant is bright and open with a subtle blue nautical theme. Comfortable booths. We'll be back.
