The place was pretty empty and we had to rush off because of an emergency phone call from the states. We went back on a Friday afternoon and there was some kind of banker's social gathering. This time we had an huge appetizer, which was very good. The waiter noticed when I opened my laptop and made sure I knew how to get on the wifi. (They use TheCloud). Sitting in one of the booths along the front, it's easy to people watch on the street. As a geeky bonus, there are power outlets in these booths down below the seats.

The Swan has become, like many chain pubs, style over substance.

The pub was empty except for a table if 4 so not sure why she didn't welcome our business. This is the difference between good staff and bad staff, had we not had such a wonderful prior experience this pub would be getting a one star review.
