What an amazing job Kenny did on our knives. Even told me which ones it wasnt worth sharpening which I appreciated. Bought a knife he sold and it is amazing. Its fun to sit and talk with him while he sharpens the knives. As one other person mentioned he made himself available even on a Saturday morning. This man knows the art of sharpening. We will go back for sure. read more

Kenny was absolutely amazing. I had reached out to get our wedding cake knife serviced and it was fairly short-notice. He still made sure to find a convenient time to take care of it, amidst a booked schedule. He even polished it and it looked brand new after being stored for 30 years. Incredibly friendly, professional, and passionate in what he does. Thank you so much, Kenny! read more

I remember in my days of youth a mobile knife sharpening truck driving through my neighborhood. But that is gone with the dodo However I have found this great service He is in a trailer in front of Whole Foods on 17-92 in maitland the second Sunday in each month My knives kitchen and pocket are probably sharper than when I bought them Don't throw away your old knives He is friendly and a wealth of knowledge and a throwback to an era unfortunately gone Check his website to see where he will also be read more

What a great business Kenny runs. Rare to find a business like this these days. I met him on one of his scheduled appearances at Whole Foods and he sharpened 3 of my knives within 15 minutes. He took the time to show me what he was going to do and explained the process each way. I forgot to bring him my lawn mower blade, though, that will have to wait for next time. The knives turned out great, they're back to how sharp they should be. It had been about 4 years since they had been last sharpened and badly need it. When your knife doesn't even want to cut a rubber grommet, it needs some work. He was getting busy so I didn't have an opportunity to get his views on kitchen knives. We desperately need a set of good kitchen knives instead of the cheap set from retailers for $20 that we've been using for the past 7 years... read more

Kenny was great! I wanted to get my hunting knives sharpened and he met with us immediately. And sharp?!!! I don't believe either knife has ever been this sharp, even new! Customer for life and highly recommended!!! read more

My wife and I are foodies and amateur cooks with a good sized Henckels knife collection, so I called and spoke to Kenny before I brought my knives to him. He explained in detail about the process and how different knives require a different treatment. He also explained how using my Chefs Choice 3-stage electric sharpener had regrouped the cutting angle and he would have to work at restoring the knives to original spec. And his prices were great. He charges $5 for up to a 5" blade, and only $6 for anything 6" or more in length. That's a lot less expensive than the $1/inch I have paid for sharpening in the past. He said he moves his locations, but sets up in front of the Whole Foods in Winter Park once a month, so I decided to give him a try. I dropped off a dozen items, 11 knives and a pair of Henckels kitchen scissors that I have had forever that were in desperate need of sharpening (I even stopped using them because they were so dull). Rather than wait for them (which would take some time) he offered to call me when they were done. A few hours later I received the call and picked up my knives. He had to regrind and reshape one of the tips, and made sure they were all in good shape. He then showed me how well they all cut by making a series of slices in pieces of paper, and even had me cut a paper towel with my scissors. I was pleased, but the real proof would be in my kitchen. That evening I did some slicing and dicing using four of the knives, and I'm happy to report that it was like having brand new knives again. Give Kenny a try. I don't think you will be disappointed. read more

Great experience! Took my mom and all her knives (many had been serviced poorly prior, dull with bolsters too large for the knife to be used properly). That sharpening guy (Kenny) not only fixed them but also took the time to explain what he was doing to correct the issues and why. Highly recommend bringing your knives to That Sharpening Guy!!!! read more

I cannot recommend this service highly enough. On a whim, I decided to get my Henckles Twin Pro S knives sharpened after several years of careful but heavy use. I called Kenny late morning on a Tuesday and to my surprise and delight he was available early that afternoon. He asked if I would like to stay and wait while he sharpened them and boy I'm glad I did. Kenny took the time to explain what he was doing, and show me how I may be causing my knives to dull prematurely. He also showed me some better knife techniques than I was currently using. Because he enjoys cooking, he brings a lot of that practical experience to his craft. He was also able to make a repair on a damaged point of a paring knife, it had been slightly broken. The repair was virtually unnoticeable and the knife looked like it had never been damaged. When he finished, the knives were perfect, sharper than they had been when I first bought them. I was so impressed with his work, and his knowledge, that I bought a new pair of kitchen shears that he was selling. They were far superior to the ones I had in my set and I couldn't be happier with them. And they were very very reasonably priced. I have in the past looked at other knife sharpener's, but I'm really glad I found this service. Kenny was a pleasure to talk to and extremely knowledgeable and skilled at his craft. He obviously really loves what he does and it shows in his work. read more

We recently needed "a lot" of sharpening done ranging from yard tools to kitchen knives. I do a lot of cooking and have invested in good knives so I am not excited to try someone new. I went to Kenny's site and sent an email asking if he would be at the stated location over the weekend. I got a call back, as requested, and yes indeed he would be there and looked forward to meeting me. Hmm...customer service and kindness? This will be interesting. We went at 1:30pm to drop off "a lot" of items and offered to pick them up another day since we were late. Kenny was so gracious and said he would stay until the jobs were all done and would call us to pick them up when they were ready. When picking up, he showed us what he could do with some of my older yard tools and really got to know my friend and I. She was given a discount for being with the police department, as was I for being married to a vet. Now, how did the sharpening go? Fantastic! The knives were sharped perfectly and the yard tools were put to work the next day. Oh how much easier a job is with the right sharpened tools. I must also add that my friend stated "It was nice to go to someone who didn't look down on you for having average knives, tools or scissors." She apparently has some past scars we need to talk about more but that is another story. :) Thank you Kenny and as long as you are in business you have a customer for life! Lania Crouch read more

Kenny was awesome. I met him at his house and he sharpened 9 of my knives. He repaired some issues on the blades caused by a previous sharpener for no additional cost. I emailed this gentleman for a thorough sharpening of all of the knives in the kitchens I oversee. He responded immediately, came out next day and provided an excellent service as well as top notch customer service. He wants you to see what a good job he did. We went over each knife that he had repaired/sharpened and each could shave a patch of hair off your arm. I could not be happier and highly recommend him. read more

Kenny is the best! Easy to schedule a time and place, as he is extremely accommodating. Kenny adjusted a couple of scissors and sharpened others. Two pairs had been my mothers (over 50 years old) and they cut like a dream now. He only charges if he is able to sharpen them. Super fun guy. We traveled over an hour to meet him. Will only use him in the future. Thanks Kenny!!! read more

It was great meeting up with Kenny for knife sharpening. Not only do I have awesome cutting knives but got some great insight during the process! Sharp knives and great conversation. I had the honor of meeting Kenny yesterday as he was entering my subdivision to service a customer. Ken is a well mannered individual that really knows and understands his craft. He also explained the process to getting amazing results and his prices are reasonable. His little caveat is providing you with a band-aid along with a much needed reminder as to how you should handle knives, especially after he has sharpened them. You can find him on FB, Google and Yelp. Besides going to farmer's markets in Sanford and Oviedo on Saturdays for his services, he'll come to your house during the week. Please give That Sharpening Guy the opportunity to share his expertise with you; he will not disappoint you! read more

Kenny is exceptionally friendly, clearly knows his stuff (and a thing or two about BBQ as well), and the bottom line is these knives are now wicked sharp, much sharper than when I bought them! read more

My father served in Vietnam and has a Randall knife that made 2 tours. Over the years the knife has rusted and pitted to the point we thought was irreversible. We called Kenny and told him we were hoping to get cleaned up and present to my father for his 80th birthday. Kenny could not have more professional and understanding to our request. He was able to sharpen, polish and clean the knife back to a remarkable condition. We could not be more thankful for the effort and time Kenny put in to this project. We know my father will appreciate the results of his hard work. Thank you Kenny for everything you did for us. read more

I have a modest collection of good kitchen knives, and have always been hesitant to dive in on the whole whetstone self-sharpening thing. A quick Google search brought me to That Sharpening Guy, Kenny. At first I decided to take my knives to him in Sanford, but then saw that he sets up shop weekly at the Good Neighbor Farmer's Market in Winter Garden/Oviedo. Talk about the perfect combination! Arrived, found Kenny (in the barn), dropped off the knives and then had a spirited conversation about cooking and recipes and all things culinary. Left the knives with Kenny and then wandered around the charming farm for about an hour. Petted some sweet animals in the petting farm area, picked up some fresh produce, and enjoyed the music of the live band. An hour later, I had perfect sharp knives and bags full of goodies. Kenny is a master sharpener and really took his time making my knives razor sharp, even the serrated ones. I will be a loyal customer and will send all of my friends to him. read more

Kenny was great! I brought my kitchen knives to him and he went through them with me to determine which ones were worth sharpening. He was excellent about explaining what he was doing , why and how to ensure my knives stay sharp for a long time. Kenny took care to talk me through the process and gave me great tips about using knives in general. I wish he lived closer to my area so i could refer more business to him. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a knowledgeable person to do some sharpening of blades. I only wish I had brought my gardening tools with me. read more
