Bought over $400 worth of flowers. I bought a begonia and when I went to plant it, it had a string around the base, apparently holding it together. I took it out by gently flipping it over, careful to support the plant, and it fell apart. When I went back to replace it, the manager (very ornery and grumpy) accused me of breaking it and refused to replace it. I've never experienced such poor customer service. It was $30. They lost a customer over a $30 plant, and possibly many more when I steer all of my friends to other garden centers with more respect for their customers. read more

Picture this- I'm checking out $184 of plants for my garden on a beautiful Saturday morning. Not a care in the world. You are supposed to get someone to write up a slip and take the slip to a cashier rather than take your cart directly to the cashier. I only knew this because I had been told to do so 5 minutes before. The elderly guy after me comes with his cart. The cashier asks him if he is checking out. He says yes. She tells him he needs to get out of line and get a slip. He asks if she could give him a slip. Out of nowhere the cashier yells "no because we don't have time to do that **CKHEAD" . She was not the least bit ashamed or contrite. Crazy out of pocket. I can't imagine a world where someone would speak to a customer that way. And I can't imagine a world where we should patronize a business that allows their employees to verbally abuse elderly people trying to give them money. read more

Haven't been there in years but when I brought back a plant that had issues I was treated like you know what and then the owner showed up with his collection of pit bulls and dobermans along with 3 or 4 of his staff. Here I am all these years later remembering this all over a rotten plant that was for my wife in the hospital. Never again. read more

Let's just say, it's not what you do, but how you do it that matters. These are some of the rudest people I have ever met in retail. They do not handle problems well and they do not handle the parking problems and pick up area well. No one is perfect and everyone has a bad day, but there are extremes of these bad days for which there are no excuses. The bottom line is if there is a problem, handle it with a smile, and help the customer out, not yell at them and talk about them to other customers, complaining while you are right there and within earshot. I have been buying flowers in the Spring, Summer, Fall, and Christmas trees here for over 25 years. The quality of plants and flowers are excellent and maybe that is why I kept coming back. The owner however, is disagreeable, sarcastic and rude. I really don't know why I haven't written a review to warn others of how he treats customers. One time I asked him if a specific geranium that was red, had a certain name. Some red geraniums are deep red, bright red or a real orangey red. I was asking him about an ivy geranium that was a very deep red and if it had a specific name. His sarcastic answer was, it's red. He is always yelling about something and yesterday he yelled at me and accused me of ripping apart his flowers. These are only two examples and there have been many more. I will not longer buy anything from him. There have been so many people that have complained about him but he doesn't seem to care... he has lost my business and that of many others if you read other reviews! read more

i have been buying nearly all of my plants here since the business opened. I suffered the owner's (Jeff) rudeness because their plants are well priced and generally of good healthy quality. I am an experienced gardener. Last year I purchased 3 pots of mixed plants that failed to thrive. They had clearly been over watered before I purchased them. When I attempted to return them, Jeff accused me of causing the trouble. I told him as I left that I would never return. Many of his employees have recognized me but never Jeff. RUDE customer service. We visited the place this weekend and were treated very rudely by a male employee when we asked if they had a fairly common plant. My wife was quite upset with the person's response as it was quite clear that he did not want to bothered. We asked neighbors and they said they knew right away the Bloomin Place person we were referring to - they thought he might be owner. I bought over $100 worth of flowers and they loaded everything in my car. When I got home I realized that they forgot to load a whole tray of geraniums. I went back to get them and they had already moved them back. The sales person was very rude to me and I asked to talk to the owner and he was one of the rudest nasty person I've ever met! I showed him my receipt and they remembered me but he told me "anyone could show me a receipt. I don't care." He continued to tell me he had the best flowers and he didn't care. What ever happened to "the customer is always right?" Not too mention that my receipt showed I had just spent a lot of money so why would I be trying to "steal" more? Horrible customer service!!! I made a purchase at That Bloomin' Place in Weymouth on 12/8/2019. The total of my purchase was $106.22. When I got home and checked my card statement later in the afternoon I noticed that they had run my card for $706.22. I attempted to reach them all afternoon and they don't answer their phone. Their voicemail box is completely full. I tried again when they opened at 9 AM today and they are still not picking up. This is no way to run a business. I want to believe this was an honest mistake but I don't think it was. The woman who rang up my purchases had another credit card in her other hand as she was ringing me up. I have no idea why ; the other card was green and my card is blue. She had me sign the slip for $106.22 and handed me a copy of my receipt. She never handed me back my credit card. I had to ask for it. I would like to give this business the benefit of the doubt but since they won't answer their phone and I have no way to get there in person this week I feel this is my only recourse to get my $600 back. read more

I bought a couple Christmas cactus's for gifts this year. I was having problems finding healthy looking plants until I came here. Not only did the plants look nice they still had most of their flowers bloomed. With the new construction on rt18 the parking situation is a disaster. I would recommend stopping by this store but I warn you to be extremely careful trying to get into the parking lot. read more

I went there Friday afternoon on 5/8...around 5pm...weekend of Mother's Day....the flower variety was great, the customer service, not great. I asked for assistance and was made to feel that I was an inconvenience...I was given vague directions on where to find something, instead of offering good customer service and walking me over to where I needed to be. The 'dark haired Italian guy in his 60's' mentioned in Elaine B's 12/12/13 review is still there and was a rude, arrogant, and insulting jerk to me yesterday, also. Either he doesn't like women or he's just a miserable wretch of a human being. He suggested that I was lying when I returned to pick up some additional plants and to ask for the 2 small gardening tools that I had paid for but left on the counter a couple of days previously -- they were still on the counter, put aside. I brought the receipt with me, and when I told him this, he said, "Lady, we clean the counter off every night. Your receipt doesn't say what the two things are." I repeat: they were still on the counter! I asked him why on earth he thought I would lie about 2 $5.99 items when I purchased over $100 in plantings and had been going there for years. His answer was, "How do I know you're telling the truth? I got a policy. You're not getting them." When I turned around to leave, I shook my head at his arrogance and said, "Wow." And I hear him behind me yell, "That's right! WOW!!" I have never seen such bad form. It was just shocking. He was not only ignorant, but he was also demeaning. That was my first run in with the creep and I wouldn't risk another one. I'd be reluctant to think he'd be as insulting to a guy. Bullies like him tend not to be. The location may have been convenient, but there are lovely nurseries in Weymouth, Hingham, and Abington that I'd be willing to bet have nicer people working at them. I have never written a review before that wasn't supportive or complimentary. This type of degrading person, though, just makes you want to warn people about him. read more

The manager running this place does NOT have the courtesy and brains to wear a facemask which is a violation of MA covid 19 requirements. He was the only person working there not wearing a mask. What upset me most is that he is responsible for approaching every customer waiting in line to write up their purchases on a ticket. However, he is not wearing a mask and comes within a foot of you. He should be fired if he refuses to wear a mask in public while he is servicing his customers. I will not support this business during this pandemic since this is how the person in charge has decided to treat his customers (many of which are 65-80 years old). read more

And I will explain why I gave 2 stars...... First let me say that their selection of flowers and plants are wonderful. That is by no means the problem. The problem is with the staff. I came with my 83 yo Mom to find a scavola plant. It was very hot and humid and my Mom has issues walking and breathing. 3 staff were eating lunch when I asked where to find this plant. I immediately felt as though I was inconveniencing these people who are paid employees. They pointed me in what I thought was the right direction. Not one of them offered to help me. They just continued to munch away. Well, turns out what I wanted was actually in a different spot, meanwhile my poor Mom had trudged to the wrong place. I was looking for a hanging plant,and they had pointed me to the potted ones. If one of them had bothered to ask which I was looking for, this would not have happened. We found what we were looking for, but it was up high, so I needed help. I will say that the guy who finally did help was okay. So, because of the absolute ignorance and rudeness of staff they will only get 2 stars and we will never return. I don't care how beautiful your flowers are, there is no excuse for that kind of rude behavior. I am sure I can find flowers that are just as nice at a place that actually cares about their customers! read more

After 20 years of wreaths, trees, ribbons and more- my wife was over-charged (charged for 3 wreaths but bought 2; bought two 2.99 ribbons but charged for two 4.99 ribbons and when she went back with receipt the woman said we can't take your word for it. Last year, I bought a truckload of flowers from That Bloomin Place in Weymouth, MA. When I got home, I realized that I had left a whole tray of impatiens. I told him I would never shop here again and I would tell all my friends not to. He said he didn't care because he has the best flowers around. I have never envountered such RUDE people in my life! I bought some flowers & they all died within 2 weeks. I called the place for 4 days no answer then I messaged on Facebook. I finally got an answer & he told me to bring a plant in. I drove over 20 mins to get there to show him. He didn't even say hello what can I help you with! He automatically started telling me that I did something wrong, I killed them all etc in front of his staff as the girl that works there was laughing right in my face! I tried to explain that I did everything like buy new soil( like they recommmnded) watered them everyday( he told me I couldn't have). This is the second time they have been so rude and once to my mother at Christmas. I told him I would never be back!! after reading the other two reviews I was shocked!! I have been to this place a few times and never witnessed what they are talking about. HOpefully the owner reads these and can get his staff in check. My friends shop uses this places exclusively to purchase hanging plants for their outside and they always look great and last forever. So we decided since those hanging plants look so good...we went last year to get our Christmas Tree. I have to tell you...the thing was beautiful and lasted for months! yes MONTHS. We can't wait to go back this year and get our tree. We might even get it the weekend BEFORE thanksgiving sine their trees are so good. read more

I have been going to this nursery for years and there is only one reason. They have beautiful, healthy flowers. The bad thing about this place is the owner. He is the rudest, ignorant business owner I have ever met. It does not matter how much money you spend there and I spend hundreds every season, he could care less. Is this anyway to treat a loyal customer that just minutes ago purchased $325 dollars worth of Christmas stuff? I think not! While strolling around looking for the perfect Christmas tree, I wandered partly up a small hill where there were other trees. Suddenly this booming voice belonging to the OWNER rudely yelled that I wasn't allowed up there. As I turned around to leave, one of his workers was going in the same direction carrying a large tree, so I stepped aside to let him pass. That's when the owner went into bark mode (no pun intended), continuing to yell at me for not leaving fast enough for him. I walked away fuming, but had to go back and speak my mind. His reaction? More yelling, continued belligerence and even cursing. I would have returned the items I'd just bought, but all sales are final. As far as this customer goes, that was his final sale to me! Hi I am a frequent visitor for all seasons. But this spring 2014 I am very dissapointed I bought trays of impatients and they all have Downy Mildew. I think they should of posted customer beware. And there are plenty of them!!!You have to look @ the bottom of the page where it says reviews not recommended.. I should have learned my lesson 3 years ago when I purchased over $100.00 on plants and 1 Azalea died within a week. So, I brought it back with my receipt for an exchange & the owner said he would not give me a replacement!! He was also yelling @ me to read his sign & don't bother him. I left after I told him I would never be back!! Wednesday morning of this week I needed to purchase some plants for relatives graves & I figured I would try That Blooming Place only because it was close. I pulled into the parking lot & parked in a parking space & when I looked up there was the owner waving his hands for me to pull up!! So, I started to pull up to a space & he started to yell @ me & waving his hands again?? I said where do you want me to park? (mind you there was only one other car in a space) and he yelled & pointed to a space where if I parked there & someone pulled up behind me I would not be able to get to my trunk!!I yelled back @ him & said "Evidently you don't need my business, and you are still rude & ignorant!! I too have shopped at the blooming place for many years and have always been satisfied however a recent experience was so unpleasant I will never go there again. an expensive plant I bought died three days after purchase. I did not have my receipt (there is a sign no returns without a receipt). I asked to speak to the manager and someone who identified himself as Jeff proceeded to berate me in front customers, call me stupid for not reading the sign and demanded I get the hell off his property. I went to my car and got the plant and left it at the register. when I left three women left with me appalled at his behavior. so much for customer service. read more

Went there to buy plants and flowers today. I was with a friend who also needed things for the yard, he spent $50.00 and I had about $85.00 worth of items in my cart. I asked where the key pad for my debt card and was told by the female clerk in a rude tone that I can't use it after her attitude I chose not to see what other forms of currency they took and was leaving with my friend. we walked less than 30 feet to his car and as we were putting his items in the car we were accosted by the male cashier who had the nerve to accuse us of stealing!!!!! need less to say we shoved the receipt under his nose, he never bothered to apologize so we called him an a_ _ hole and left. We went to Artery Garden Center where i made a much larger purchase for a little less money was treated with respect by the staff and I could use my debit card. I went to That Bloomin Place looking specifically for shrubs and I found a great selection! I was very impressed, not only at the variety of shrubs, but the quality and condition; everything looked in perfect condition. The staff was very helpful and friendly, and was available to carry plants when needed. I wish I had found this place sooner...I would have bought my annuals and perennials here as well!
