As I was returning to my car, I could see it from a distance, someone had "keyed " scratch, the entire length of the driver's side of my vehicle. It was severe. Rule of thump: put water on a scratch on your auto finish, if the scratch disappears it can be buffed out. When I got home I ran the hose,wet the car, the scratch remained completely visible. As I'm new to Raleigh, and new to NC I didn't know who to call. I opened the Yelp app and contacted several repair shops based on reviews. They all responded promptly and gave a quote except one. The first one to respond didn't give me a quote, he set a time for the next day when he could come see it in person. The day Travis arrived a few minutes early and I was ready. He inspected the scratch and gave me a quote, best by several hundred $$ I was skeptical, I told Travis I was awaiting to hear from a couple more shops but I would let him know either way within a couple hours. I had a good feeling about Travis so even though his very much lower price gave me a "too good to be true" vibe, I needed my car fixed so I texted Travis. We set a time for two days later as I had to work around my schedule. Travis' two helpers arrived early, before Travis. They explained they would prep the car and could start immediately. I left them to get started as I had a project had had to attend. When I looked outside maybe 20 mins later Travis was there his truck unloaded, equipment set up. All three seemed very busy. What they had to do to get that scratch out was unreal. The scratch wasn't just to the metal, the metal was scratched as well. It was a lot of work many steps in the process and it took some time. As they neared completion of the project, one of the guys found me in my backyard and filled me in. I started towards my car, already close enough where the scratch was previously visible, I saw shiny pint. I continued to close the distance, scrutinizing with increased intensity. I was at the car, scanning the previously damaged area with my eyes. I saw no sign of any damage, no residual of the scratch whatsoever. My nightmare was over, Travis and his guys made my car look like brand new. I can once again drive my car with pride. I recommend Same Day Bumper and Grill all day every day and twice on Sunday Than you Travis !!

We stopped here at A-1 Brightside and they put the truck up on their lift and checked the transmission fluid. Fluid level was fine so they did some on-line research to avoid having to do a complete transmission analysis and gave us some very good suggestions. We tried those for the rest of our trip and the light never came on again. Very nice, respectful and the best was - NO charge. They said no charge as all they "really" did was check the fluid level. I'd go back there any time if I'm traveling through Rocky Mount and need transmission work. Thank you !!

After…read morestriking a deer on I-95 South (over five hours from home), our insurance company directed us to Gerber to get our car back on the road. The damage was extensive, and we were worried that our vehicle was beyond repair. After completing a careful inspection, the Gerber team came up with a repair plan and proceeded to do top quality work. It was clear that the safety of the vehicle was their top priority - and some of the modern electronics in our car made that challenging (e.g., distance sensors and lane detection sensors were all impacted by the accident). The Gerber team repaired it all, thoroughly tested the vehicle, and got everything back to fully working order - as good as new! The car looks fantastic and handles great after the repair. Throughout the process, the team coordinated with our insurance company and kept us informed about each step along the way - terrific communication and service from a shop that really cares! If you find yourself in need of top-quality collision repair, you can't do any better than Gerber - Rocky Mount.

It is a cliche isn't it? The car repair shop that takes advantage of its customers which is why…read moremost people trust reccomendations for such needs. I trusted a friend for just such a reference. Unfortunately I ended up experiencing the cliche. After getting an estimate that was supposed to take 4 days it ended up double that time and about $200 more than the original estimate. Now this repair is due to an accident I was in which wasn't my fault so the other party's insurance company is paying but due to the extra days I ended up paying out of pocket for the rental car because the insurance company didn't approve the "supplementary" estimate of additional work. The communication between the shop, myself, and the insurance company was horrible mostly due to the mechanic working on my car. Also, when he told me it would be ready I showed up and it wasn't. So I had to continue waiting (and hoping not to have to pay for another day on the rental car). Overall this experience was horrible and sadly supports the cliche of the shady auto shop. I wrote this review as I was waiting for my car. When I picked it up the owner did give me some cash as a way to apologize. However, it should never have gotten to that point. Why not just do the job as promised in the first place and if it will take more time then take care of any inconvenience it causes the customer.

This is NOT the same Don's Body Shop anymore. They replaced a front bumper and did not know how to…read morematch the paint. They said because the bumper is plastic and the car is metal, the colors will not match. They said that they used the original color that was originally used on the car. They also said that the car had been repaired before. Excuse after excuse for not doing it right. The colors did not match. Even the insurance adjuster said the colors did not match. After I pressed the issue and told them it was not acceptable as is. They agreed to repaint the bumper. Now the bumper matches the car. However, they would not pay for a rental car for the extra four days it took to make the bumper right. The receptionist is very friendly. However, Greg should not be in the customer service business. He would not admit that there was a mistake, never apologized for my inconvenience, and never even said thank you! It should have been right the first time. I told the receptionist that I was going to write a negative review about my experience and about how Greg was so rude, unprofessional, unwilling to make things right, never apologized, and never even thanked us. She said he is a character. I would have asked to speak with the manager, but, He Was Sitting In The Same Room and heard everything that was going on and Never offered to assist or speak with me!! I have used Don's in the past with much success. However, I will not be bringing them my business in the future and I cannot recommend them. There are many good choices of Body Shops in Rocky Mount, Stay away from Don's. (Insurance paid for the rental car for the initial work to the car. However, of course, they would not pay for the extra four days to repaint the bumper that was painted the wrong color by Don's. I believe Don's should have paid for the rental car as this was clearly their mistake) See pictures below of what they thought was a good job, and refused to make it right until I said it was unacceptable and refused the car until it was right. After a lot of back and forth, they never returned my calls, the car is finally fixed with matching paint. Note, that they Never called me to inform me of the progress of my repair or the lack of progress. I had to initiate every call. Even when my car was ready the second time, I called to see if it was ready since it was already the forth day of a 3-day repair. I was told that they are pulling it around right now. When I went to pick up on the 19th the bumper they had put on had paint popping off. They had not even secured the bumper to the side of the vehicle. it was loose and popping off. The main thing that pissed me off was that they scratched up my whole hood and refused to fix it. I would not take another vehicle to them due to poor workmanship, lack of concern for the damage they caused to my hood and refusal to fix what they damaged. Beware- don't take your vehicle to them for anything!!!

A month went by with not hearing from anyone and I knew of aamco from a friend having his transmission replaced. I gave them a call and had my car towed to them. They diagnosed the problem (being the transmission) and called me to give me two options to get my car back on the road. Four days later I was riding and my car drove like it was new again. They even asked me to bring it back 10 days later to make sure the transmission was still working properly. 5 stars for customer service and the work they did.
