Thanicare using Sorrento Valley Pet cemetery and crematory pricing
    Nathaniel L.

Definitely feeling ripped off when I thought I was paying for a service from a business, and it's only a middle man who up charges you x2. Should have looked into this more before I used it but have to share. Received my pets ashes in a wodden box, small paw impression, and some fur for $950! The bag that my son came in was from Sorrento Valley pet cemetery and crematory. The Sorrento Valley Pet Cemetery (SVPC) in San Diego, California offers this cremation service package for $457 and even if there was a pick up charge I am just truly appalled at how I have been taken advantage of. I do not recommend to use this business and HIGHLY ENCOURAGE you to just call SVPC directly and save the hassle of being up charged. They got the job done and came and picked him however I still feel very overcharged for this situation. I realize it was 4 am when I called and spoke to someone, however I was in a frantic emotional state and just feel taken advantage of charging me almost double what the cost for the package is just to come and pick him up and take him to be cremated. I would recommend putting on your site you are using another facility to do it and you don't use your own.

Amanda when I found her the morning of her death.

I contacted James Byler in Poway about my dog before she passed and was very impressed with the care and compassionate service that I received. The morning that I found Amanda I called and James sent a representative out to pick up her body within 2 hours. She was a very polite young woman who very carefully placed my dog's body in a bag and took her away to be creamated. Within the 2 week time frame that they gave me, a young man returned Amanda's ashes and paw print to me. The whole package was beautifully presented in a pine box with a Cremation Certificate in a white carry bag. During the entire process, James was in constant contact with me whenever I had any questions and even called me today to follow up on the delivery. His compassion was much appreciated. I highly recommend Thanicare to anyone who requires pet cremation services. Apparently this is a 3 part service: Thanicare is the original contact. The pick up of the body and delivery of the ashes is by Loving Pet and the actual cremation is done by Angel Paws. They work hand in hand and they all made my overall experience a lot easier.

    Cedar lockbox with the remains

Writing a five star review with the yelp 5 star description "Woohoo! As good as it gets!" for this post is sad due to the circumstances. Our family pet died a few weeks ago in the middle of night on a Sunday. We've lost pets in the past and have our go to place to take him/her (it's a cremation place in Sorrento). But we never knew they were closed on a Sunday. I researched my options with eyes heavy from tears and just loss. I stumbled across Thanicare and called them right away. They come to your house, pick up your pet, cremate the pet, and bring the remains back to you in a sealed cedar lockbox. The fee was incredibly reasonable. Ron came by a few hours after the phone call. I couldn't watch him take our pet away but a friend was here to assist. Friend said Ron was beyond compassionate and spoke to our pup saying 'it's ok baby girl we'll take care of you'. Makes me bawl right now as I'm typing this. The process wasn't rushed nor did I feel pressure to upgrade to whatever. They will engrave your pets name on the cedar box at no additional charge. The process is about a week to get the remains. I wasn't home when Ron delivered the box but mom and cousin were. They specifically asked me to write a review because they said Ron was the most sincere man. My mom said that he asked to see me as he wanted to make sure I was ok and that he had almost tears in his eyes when he handed her the box. I know those reading this or probably searching for options should your pet pass. I can only say that our experience with Thanicare was touching and made this incredibly hard situation that much more manageable. So thank you Ron.

When our cat was very ill and the vets could no longer help her we found Thanicare on Google. We spoke with Jan whom walked us through the process of having to put our feline down. Jan sets up the initial time for the Vet to come to your home and the cremation service. They take the time with you to spend before and after your pet is euthanized. The service they provide is above and beyond. They give your pet the dignity they deserve when they leave this world. Within a week we received Courtney back in a beautiful cedar box and a ceramic paw print. We couldn't have asked for a better company to take care of all our needs and services during a stressful and hurtful time.

Lovey's Beautiful cedar urn, paw print and tuft of fur
    Antinika G.

Ron and his wife Jan were great with the care you provided during this tough process. He answered my early call Saturday morning and came within only a few hours! Also the BEST price you'll find for aftercare. My sister and I appreciate how swift and easy they made everything. Ron made sure all of our wishes were addressed, a beautiful urn, paw print and even a tuft of fur The empathy and willingness to do whatever they could to help was immeasurable. Call Ron to help rest your little one I'm peace, you won't regret it!

We lost our beloved 16 yr. old fur baby Bailey unexpectedly and reached out to Thanicare. Ron responded quickly and professionally. Ron made the process as seamless as possible and even brought he home to us.. He was compassionate and respectful. The company offers a great selection of memorial items at a very reasonable rate. I'd definitely would recommend them to everyone.

My cat Chelsea passed away at home, peacefully. She was 16 years young. Since all of that happened without realizing it and after hours, I panicked a bit regarding what to do and how quickly to do it. From the moment I reached out to Peaceful Waters Aquamation, they treated me with so much kindness, patience, and understanding. Jennifer, who welcomed us, knew how much Chelsea meant to me and handled everything with genuine compassion and respect. What really meant the most was how gentle and thoughtful they were throughout the entire process. They didn't treat this like just another service, they truly honored my cat's life. That level of care made a heartbreaking situation just a little bit easier to bear. I selected to have Chelsea's ashes to be delivered in person. Kristine who delivered my cat's remains, handled everything beautifully and with such attention, it gave me a sense of peace knowing my pet was cared for so respectfully. Lastly, I can't say enough of how beautiful the paw prints were as well as the ashes in her little blue bag. I decided to purchase an urn somewhere else, but the way everything was presented to me upon reception made it feel like my cat was back home and it felt very comforting. I can't thank Peaceful Waters Aquamation enough for their compassion and support. If you're going through the loss of a beloved pet, I highly recommend them, they truly make a difference when you need it most.

I didn't want to think the worst, but based on the other reviews and the recent CBS8 news story... the worst has happened. 13 years of love with my little man, only to end up as disrespected in the end by this horrible "service" My cat deserved better. I don't know how the owners of this place sleep at night, or live with themselves after doing something like this. This is a horrendous feeling I wouldn't wish on anyone. EDIT: three emails sent to the email on their recent article. With proof of receipt. Still no response. A woman who has left a positive review for them recently has been also making me false promises on Facebook that she will "help" giving me more false hopes, so they are leaving fake 5 star reviews as well. Clearly people are able to contact him if he wants his business reputation upheld like that. So why won't he contact back the grieving pet owners?

Peaceful Veterinary Care allowed me to keep that vow to Atlas by giving him a calm and dignified passing at home surrounded by his favorite people. From the kind and empathetic staff answering my questions over the phone to Dr. Rose's professional and compassionate bedside manner with Atlas and me alike, everyone at Peaceful Veterinary Care is truly in service of the families they care for. The day of Atlas' passing was beautiful and bright, so we all went out to my backyard where Atlas could feel most comfortable. We were not rushed in our goodbyes or grief, and the entire process was quiet and calm... I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to plan those arrangements for my dearest boy. He deserved nothing less. I will add that I initially chose Peaceful Veterinary Care because I was especially interested in their aquamation services. I knew that I wanted Atlas' ashes, but I also wanted a more environmentally responsible option than traditional cremation. Atlas' remains were ready in one short week, and they even included a beautiful clay paw print and a small collection of fur. The loss of a beloved family pet is profound and devastating. When we called, I believe, Kim, answered the phone with so much sweetness and kindness. She was patient and answered all of my questions and concerns, all through my tears and sniffles. I called on a Friday afternoon and booked our appointment for Sunday afternoon. She sent clear email instructions and told us to call for anything. Dr. Justin Altman showed up at 2:30pm on the dot. He came in with a comforting confidence. He sat with us and let our Big Black Bear, Rossi, the sweetest 14 year old Black Lab, warm up to him. It didn't take long, as Rossi loved everyone. He was a gentle giant. Justin saw the large mass on his front left leg and immediately said bone cancer as well as explained the quick decline he must have had. He asked us questions about Rossi's health and behavior and reassured us it was the right decision, we NEEDED to hear this from a professional, as the cancer had most likely spread elsewhere in his body and the mass would not go away. Once he explained all of this, we were ready to proceed. My husband and Justin easily moved Rossi onto his bed. Justin explained the process, and allowed us all the time we needed. The sedative that would kick in and relax him and take away his pain, and then the euthanasia injection. He gave us privacy to say our final goodbye after he had checked that his heart had stopped beating. He returned with a small stretcher to carry out Rossi's body to his car. His wife Robin would receive Rossi's body for aquamation. A three week process. We had filled out the form prior to the euthanasia so Rossi could start right away. We picked him up in Lakeside and was given a paw print and a beautiful brown box with his remains. Kim, Justin, and Robin were extremely professional and sympathetic. I highly recommend their services and will be referring them in the future to all my fur Mamas and Papas.
