Losing my cat was one of the hardest things I had to go through and I'm incredibly grateful I found Peaceful Waters Aquamation during such a difficult time. My cat Chelsea passed away at home, peacefully. She was 16 years young. Since all of that happened without realizing it and after hours, I panicked a bit regarding what to do and how quickly to do it. From the moment I reached out to Peaceful Waters Aquamation, they treated me with so much kindness, patience, and understanding. Jennifer, who welcomed us, knew how much Chelsea meant to me and handled everything with genuine compassion and respect. What really meant the most was how gentle and thoughtful they were throughout the entire process. They didn't treat this like just another service, they truly honored my cat's life. That level of care made a heartbreaking situation just a little bit easier to bear. I selected to have Chelsea's ashes to be delivered in person. Kristine who delivered my cat's remains, handled everything beautifully and with such attention, it gave me a sense of peace knowing my pet was cared for so respectfully. Lastly, I can't say enough of how beautiful the paw prints were as well as the ashes in her little blue bag. I decided to purchase an urn somewhere else, but the way everything was presented to me upon reception made it feel like my cat was back home and it felt very comforting. Final update on this sickening situation w/ "Not So Peaceful" Waters - Edited to add - The fact that Dr Rose is threatening legal action over my factual review & its updates is ridiculous & supports my perception that their priorities lie with optics, not customer service & care. Mine is just ONE review in a sea of 5 star reviews; they still have a 5 star rating overall! Why threaten legal action for that? This feels like intimidation, & seems pretty cruel considering I've explained that I'm already under immense stress due to my complex chronic health issues & have no income (I'm trying to get SSDI but it's a long process). I should be the one pursuing legal action against them for emotional distress, but I'm not & have no intention to do so! I'd rather just put this all behind me as it's already sapped more than enough of my precious little energy. Yes, Dr Rose told me to "stop engaging" via email on Monday, & I was true to my word in ceasing to contact them once my questions were answered late Monday night. Updating my review here on Yelp is within my rights as a consumer & in my mind is engagement of Yelp & the general public, not PW directly. I also wanted to give them credit for doing the right thing by issuing a refund for the work in question, so readers may draw their own conclusions based on the full facts. It was her choice to engage w/ me by posting a response directed at me. She's also now deleted her response to my initial review in which she describes their outsourcing as a "referral" & repeatedly denies PW's involvement w/ the taxidermy work. Dr Rose did eventually issue a refund for the taxidermy work done by their contractor Reno, & I'm waiting for the check to clear. While I appreciate them doing the right thing in this respect, it's never been about about the money, it's always been about the irreversible mutilation of my baby's body & the way they've handled my feedback. Almost aspect of the experience was unacceptable, & has NOT felt prompt. I cannot be more clear in this - I commissioned Peaceful Waters to do pet preservation taxidermy work which they offered on their website & confirmed as offered by them, w/ no mention of third party involvement in spite of multiple emails back & forth, my sharing that I'd been through the process before & that I'd be traveling from out of town. It was only when they had my dog & my money that they revealed the taxidermy work was done off site, by THEIR taxidermist who I was assured was exceptional & had trained with the best pet preservationist in the state, whose early work I actually possess, which I'd told them in person. I cannot speak to whether or not they knew if Reno wasn't fully truthful about their training. Dr Rose's insistence that Peaceful Waters did NOT perform the work in question is not factual. The only way it could be twisted into the truth is that the work was performed off site; but it was performed by the taxidermist of their choice, who they outsourced to. I commissioned them, paid them, & only had communication with them. There was no "referral." They farmed the work out to Reno, their choice, not mine. PW also performed the initial steps of the taxidermy including creation of foam molds, measurement taking, & skinning, which was confirmed to me in writing. It appears they failed to inspect the work for quality control in spite of it being done & I assume in their possession for MONTHS before notifying me it was complete. They strongly imply that the way Rosie was mishandled by Reno is what pet preservation is supposed to look like. Go look at the work done by professional pet preservationists ie: Precious Creature, or even non-pet taxidermy & you'll see that it's not the standard for the work to be poorly finished in this way. In spite of claiming to be available 24/7 & to truly care for their clients, as soon as I expressed dissatisfaction I felt I was treated like a nuisance & gaslit. Instead of taking responsibility for choosing to hire an unqualified individual who lies about their experience & training, they strongly implied that my expectations were unrealistic, & denied having any part in the process, also not factual. Even if they're great at aquamation & in home euthanasia, I'd never recommend this company, based on their unscrupulous handling of the situation. I'm sure I'm not the first person to have a poor experience w/ them, I just may be the first to speak out about it. My pictures keep getting removed as they've likely been flagged, & I plan to contact Yelp if that continues to happen. read more

Handled the cremation of our pets with dignity and care. Everyone was very compassionate during our time of loss.

What started off great turned into something absolutely devastating. I work at an animal hospital and had the honor of not only being a part of my manager's soul dog's euthanasia appointment but also handling the after care part. End of life care is something really dear to me and I always do what I can to help those during this difficult time. I submitted all the information on their website and also requested a couple different services- 4 additional clay paw prints and what my manger wanted most, Buster's whiskers. He was a big boy with the tiniest whiskers and my manger absolutely adored them. She also requested a skull cleaning. I made sure to print out and keep the requested form for record, just in case something were to happen. Little did I know that something heart breaking would. We were informed that the skull cleaning service would take about one whole year to complete. Regardless, my manager understood and was willing to wait. Fast forward some time and we're informed that the aquamation process is taking bit longer to which my manager again was patient and understood that there were other loved ones being cared for before her. We finally receive Buster back and notice that the 4 additional clay paw prints and what she wanted most- his whiskers were missing. Horrified, I looked at the form filled to make sure the additional services she wanted were in fact noted. And they were. My manager also showed me an email confirming the additional services requested. We contacted PW hoping to resolve this issue immediately, especially if his skull had already started the cleaning process. We were then informed that his whiskers were unfortunately not saved. We were mortified by the news. The thing she wanted most, gone. How could this happen when it was filled out on the request form? Only later to be told that they essentially do not check what is filled out on their website and follow another portal. I'm sorry but why would there be a request form on their public website if not meant to be honored and followed? And to be told that they didn't have proof was absolutely ridiculous and inaccurate considering my manager and I had copies of everything. We request to stop the skull cleaning process and advise the company that we will be taking his skull back. Only to be told that his skull cleaning process is almost complete. We were told it would take one whole year, how is this possible if it had only been two weeks? What information is actually correct? Things were just not adding up. And to see my manager go from losing her soul dog to dealing with this nightmare after was undoubtedly gut wrenching. This was supposed to beautiful, to memorialize and celebrate Buster. And I regret to inform that it hasn't been peaceful at all. My heart breaks for my manager and I really hope this agony doesn't happen to anyone else ever again. "Viva Buster" read more

I had the most amazing experience with Dr. Chapman. It was genuinely the most peaceful experience I've ever had letting go of one of one of my pets. She took the time to get to know us, learn our story and showed my dog Bodhi so much love and grace that I truly felt like she saw him as I did. She validated my decision with a solid veterinary description of his experience. She put my mind at ease and gave me confidence that it was the right time and that Bodhi was ready. And he truly was. I have no regrets. But it really helped to get her professional opinion. She had perfecting timing during the process, she never made me feel rushed. She let me share my stories, asked questions and made me feel heard. All the while showing my boy deep-felt compassion. She answered all of my questions and talked me through all of the little details. She coached me through every moment explaining every twitch and every breath. My sweet, 12 year old bunny was in pretty rough condition in her last week with us and during an emergency appt and discussion with the vet we ultimately decided the most compassionate thing was to let her rest. I called very last minute on a Saturday and Peaceful Waters was able to get me in for a cremation and memorial (I didn't want to leave her in the freezer at the vet all weekend, that would have broken my heart even more) so we got up there for an appt shortly before they closed. They were extremely compassionate and gentle with us and never made us feel rushed considering the circumstances. They have several memorial item offerings as well as privacy in the comfort of a room with your loved one. We were allowed plenty of time and grace to mourn and make our decisions. We received our sweet buns ashes and memorial items within a week and they sent a sweet text reminding us they were ready. We opted for the paw print on clay, a vile of fur, a vile of ashes to spread separately and the ashes in a sachet because we had something at home already for her. While I hope to not have to use their services any time soon nor for anyone else, it is definitely my recommendation to go through them should you have to. They made a difficult day easier and treated us with dignity during a time we needed it the most. read more

This is a hard review to write as I just lost my dog Lucy who I had for 15 years. She was my world. I was originally going to have her cremated but when I was looking at Paws into Grace's website I found out about water cremation. I looked into it and decided to go with Peaceful Waters. They were amazing. The receptionist helped us find the location and when we arrived, she had a table set up with flowers for us to rest Lucy on. I was able to take a beautiful final photograph of her and sit with her for a while. Lovely music was playing softly in the background and the receptionist was so kind and thoughtful. Leaving her was hard but I felt like I was leaving her with people who would treat her respectfully. We chose a memorial resin nose impression on top of the included memorials and the artist did an amazing job! The samples included only a few colors and no blue. The receptionist went out of her way to track the artist down and see if they could do blue and get the area around Lucy's nose in the imprint. I cried when I picked it up because it was so detailed and beautifully done. I also received a paw imprint, fur clippings, and Lucy's ashes in a pretty cardboard vessel. Thee made the whole experience more meaningful and I highly recommend Peaceful Waters. read more
