Our kitchen, laundry room, and small bathroom had 60 years worth of dirty, gross wallpaper that needed to be removed, and were in need of a new paint job. We are relatively new in the home improvement game and had absolutely no idea what we were getting into with this project. Thane called me back immediately and was able to come give the quote within just a few hours of my initial call. They were able to fit us into their schedule very quickly, which we really appreciated. Thane took a lot of time (before we even hired him) to explain all of the work that needed to be done, why/how, and gave us a very clear picture of what was involved. I had three other painting contractors give us a quote, and there was no question that Thane was the most knowledgeable, hands down. His quote was detailed, clear, and very reasonable given the amount of work that had to be done. We encountered several extra little repairs along the way (replacing hinges of cabinet doors, patching up a skylight) and he was very willing to explain the repair and never made us feel it was a problem or inconvenience to do it as part of the job. We felt his charges for these little extras were very reasonable. When he encountered something outside of his scope of expertise (i.e. replacing the kitchen lights) he was honest about what was involved and gave us suggestions for next steps. We were very impressed with his customer service. He and his crew were always on time, and would let me know if they were even running 10 minutes late. He came to the worksite at least two or three times a day to check on the job and pitch in himself. He kept me appraised any time they encountered issues, and took his time to explain the problem and suggest solutions. He was very willing to answer all of my questions and struck me as a very reasonable, down-to-earth, honest person. This is definitely worth noting because we have worked with several contractors by this point and he really stands out against the competition. The quality of the workmanship is outstanding. Miguel and Concho (his painting crew) are very hard working and detail-oriented. Every little corner/crevice was meticulously painted. They had to deal with a lot of texture on the walls and we couldn't even tell; everything looks smooth and very professional. We have miles of trim in the kitchen and every surface was sanded down and carefully painted; it looks like brand new trim. We love the wall color that Thane helped us choose (and it's worth noting that he did this very willingly and didn't charge us any "design fees" that you might encounter with other painters.) Finally, it is worth noting that we had just had new floors put in before the painters started work, and they made sure to cover and protect the floors very carefully. The rooms were immaculate when they left and the floors looked like they hadn't been touched. We couldn't be more pleased with the final result of the job. I had Thane paint 7 rooms in my house. I read reviews on yelp and decided to try him out. His prices are fair and reasonable. I bid him against another painter and Thane just paints more square footage for the same price. At one point his painters painted the entire entry and hall the wrong color, since I wasn't there when they started. Thane repainted the entire area free of charge! His painters are meticulous and I have never needed them to re-paint anything. His crew works really hard the entire time they are in your home, they don't wast a minute. Thane even offered to tear out some cabinetry for me in a couple rooms (something I would have had to call in a contractor to do) so we could repaint the walls behind it. I also needed him to tear out some old shutters so we could repaint the window sills and trim, he did this too and filled all the nail holes. His lead painter also does trim work and he did all the trim and crown moulding in a couple rooms too. Thane is honest and gives just a little extra on all his jobs. He and his crew are very trustworthy and bend over backwards to ensure you are happy with the job. When it is all said and done, Thane will have painted every single surface in my home. I decided to hire Thane after reading rave reviews by others. He didn't disappoint! Very flexible and pleasant to work with (I am a color freak - changed my mind on one wall 7 times - he was very patient and allowed me to geek out. Perfectionist as others suggest. Our house completely transformed. Not a drop of paint on floors, windows, etc.. His team can also do carpentry work - needed some baseboard and window sill repaired. Did a perfect job at this too, you can never tell what area was repaired as it blends in perfectly with the rest of the house. I found 3 different painters on Yelp and called them all for quotes on painting my 2-story entry, living room and staircase. Thane Waldo was the only one of the 3 to respond. He arrived at my house on time and was so professional I decided to go with him without getting any other quotes. I have to say I made the right decision. Thane worked with me on color choices. He has a great eye. He knew what I wanted, and brought over 3-4 different samples. I was leaning toward one, but he knew I really wanted another - I just couldn't see the color the way he could. While his amazing team was painting the living room, I suggested they also do a bathroom that I'd painted a horrid purple at my daughters' suggestion. Thane brought in more samples and they turned the eyesore into a beautiful bath for my daughters. I am thrilled. So, why not add the family room? Again, Thane returned with samples and they did a wonderful job on that as well. I promise I'll have Thane and his team back for the rest of my house as soon as I figure out what I want to do with the other rooms....They did all this work in 4 days, arriving every morning at 8:30am and leaving around 4:30pm. Thane managed to do what very rarely happens to me: he exceeded my expectations. He earnestly wants the customers to be happy with the colors, the painting process, the schedule, and the prices and he has a great talent and great generosity to achieve it all. I interviewed many painting companies before I chose Thane and one of the main reasons I chose him was his great talent in choosing colors and the way he enabled us to make great and well informed choices of colors throughout the painting process. We have a very big house, and for each room, some time before we started painting it, he listened to our general input, suggested specific colors for the room, and then painted samples on a wall of the room with the specific colors we considered; then he inspected the samples with us, and chose with us the best color for the room, or suggested with our input a few more colors to try. For many rooms we had several such iterations before we chose a final color. As a result we couldn't be happier with the colors of our house. In fact, even my teenage daughter, who initially didn't want her room painted since she was satisfied with the old wall papers in her room, changed her mind after she saw how beautiful the painted rooms turned out to be. Now she is super thrilled with her room, painted by Thane's team in an amazing shade of her favorite color, purple. Despite his incredible talent and amazing unique service, Thane's prices are super competitive and he has a great business flexibility. We didn't need to commit to the full job in advance: we started with three rooms and added more as we went along. And since it was more manageable for me to have just one painter at my home and not a whole crew, Thane sent me one painter, Miguel, the whole time. And to top it all, Miguel is an absolute treasure.
