We really appreciated how at the end of each workday they tidied up all work in progress so that inconvenience was minimal. Two full days were devoted to very thorough prep work, and all painting was done by hand (brush and roller) rather than just sprayed on. Stanford Painting came out and gave an estimate that was more than double what the other vendor gave. We thought the "diamond" method meant the extra effort would be worth the cost. It's really a manipulative marketing ploy. They originally sent three painters to work on our house but after 1 to 1 1/2 days, it was only one guy working on our house and he was applying only one layer of paint on the walls. There was no prewashing or any of the multi-steps promised in their "diamond" method. Don't waste your money using this company. Their paint work was very shoddy, too. Painters didn't bother to fill in small holes or do anything besides apply a layer of paint. I could have hired an unexperienced worker to do the same quality (lack of) work they provided! Stanford painting just finished repainting all my exterior trim and restaining all of my wood shingles on my house. I can't say enough good things about the crew and the work they did. They were absolutely amazing in all respects! They took their time, spent a huge amount of time on the prep work including sanding, priming, calking, covering all the areas that needed covering, etc. This also included fixing several issues that I didn't expect them to fix. Every day they left the job site clean and orderly and started nice and early. They were always super nice and really accommodating. And the communication of what they were doing was excellent - including keeping me informed on one day they couldn't work due to rain. I've worked with many painters (and other contractors) over thirty years in property management and real estate sales, and frankly I'm not a big fan of the construction and maintenance trades, but Stanford Painting is an exemplar. Frank, Casey and Santos were a pleasure to work with. So was the lead guy on site whose name I got wrong, then got right, then forgot--anyway, he's a gem, and he deserves a better shout out than this. Stanford Painting is patient, prompt and professional, qualities hard to find these days. Lots of contractors have done well since the dot com era left the Valley awash in money, but Stanford got through the lean times of the early 1990s when people in the trades were struggling. They did a very thorough prep work, pays attention to details, is very mindful, and keeps things clean and tidy. Although I have not personally used this company I want to leave a review because I am an interior designer and have worked in the interior design industry for over 10 years. I came across Stanford Painting Company by watching a presentation given by the manager, Casey, at an event I attended. I was impressed by the processes that they have in place and the steps that they take when taking on a client. In the remodeling industry, it is extremely easy to overlook and bypass processes because clients are really out of their element. Most oftentimes, they get taken advantage of by contractors and trades because they just don't know any better. Most trades services will come in and give a low quote just to get the job and then charge clients for change orders all throughout the project. When you are dealing with a company that is transparent with their pricing and lists the steps they take to complete each project, you are most likely dealing with a reputable company that values their quality of work. As mentioned, I have not worked on a personal project with this company yet, but I have referred them to clients and to other remodeling companies that I work with.
