Edgar was very accommodating to our needs. We needed the entrance door stained (lock changed) and the living room & its surroundings ( stairways, upper hall, lower hallway, doors to other rooms,...) painted. I asked for an exterior house painter to come out to the property and I described the project (chalk, prep, prime and paint one exterior wall (left side of the house) and was then told "Sorry we do not work like that." If you can't read a simple RFP and can't give a bid without holding hands with the client then they need to get off of yelp. These are YOUR words "Sorry we do not work like that." I simply gave you a description if the work and asked you to go to the property and take a look and if needed more info to call me. I live 50 miles away from this rental and don't feel like traveling 100 miles round trip for a 10 minute job walk. Now you don't like my review, so I'm the bad guy and certainly you'll come out. Very unprofessional service. We did ceiling paint with Edgar and we took quote for exterior paint as well. Edgar provided us combined price for both and took some amount extra for the ceiling paint promising that he would come back for exterior paint and will take remaining less amount for that. We called him couple of times and he did not agree to do exterior paint giving a lame reason that combined price contract has ended and asked us to pay the full price now. I am writing this after living with our interior paint job for about one year now. Marvelous Painters painted the interior walls, ceilings and baseboards in our living, dining, kitchen, TV room and family rooms, the kitchen cabinets and also the stair railing and upstairs hallway. A very big job! Edgar was indeed professional and friendly and that's what sold me on his company. I wish he was on sight more when his crew was here but I believe he was coordinating another even bigger job at an industrial site at the same time. I also wish his crew were as professional as Edgar was. However, Edgar did communicate well with me and his crew throughout the job. His pricing was fair, not at the low end where you wonder if they'll do an adequate job and not at the high end when you know you're being gouged. All in all, the walls look fresh and the house feels updated, which was our goal. I would strongly suggest that the homeowner purchase all the paint required for the job. That way you know exactly what quality of paint is going on your walls and in your home. We now have paint that is chipping off of our kitchen cabinets, stair railing and some baseboards. Even with normal wear and tear, paint should not be chipping off, unless the quality of the paint is low end. We have verified this with ANOTHER painter who has been in the business for over 30 years. It's easy to touch up, but disappointing that we have to do this so early on, especially when the contractor grade paint that was originally in our home lasted more than a decade before needing touch ups. I would also suggest if you have motorized blinds that you hire a professional to remove and replace them after the painting is finished. If electrical outlets are being removed (which they should be before painting), label or number them to make sure they will be replaced in the right spot and ensure the wires are in tact and in the same form as before and also make sure they are working after they are placed back on. Lastly, designate one clean up area where the crew can clean their brushes and tools at the end of the day. This may seem like common sense to most, but better to communicate this in the beginning before any messes are found which will be more difficult to clean up after paint has already dried. read more

This is the 2nd time I hired Edgar and his team - 1st for kitchen cabinet painting from 2 years ago and the recent one for interior painting to prep our home for selling. When we asked him for the job it was a bit of a late notice but it was kind of Edgar to give us an estimate right away. As what their company is named after, they indeed did a marvelous job with the work we asked them to do. First thing we observed is that they are consistently on time. They would always arrive right before the appointment. Another is that they leave the work area clean as you can see from the photos. As for the quality of work - being the meticulous person I am, I was very impressed with the results. Clean lines (of course there would be tight spaces impossible to reach) but overall my husband and I are very satisfied at how clean the edges are and even the holes on the wall have been patched up good as if they were never there. They also fixed some minor cracks on the ceiling. At the end of the whole paintwork, Edgar would always come to check and inspect the work done and he himself points out to his team if he sees anything that needs correction/cleaning up and also asked me if I see anything that needs fixing/retouching, and they would address that I highly recommend them for anyone needing paintwork for their homes. It took about 4 days but each day they were willing to remove the tarp so that we could access our refrigerator and microwave. The job took them approx 5 days with crew of 2 people, to power-wash, fix the crack in stucco, mask and repaint the entire house. They were attentive to detail, and took their time. There was an area that had patching done and was an eye sore due to the lines, the crew spent the time to retexture the wall to reblend, it made a huge difference (8 out of 10) from initial which is expected since the retexturing wasn't done to the entire wall.
