We ordered a Thai tofu salad, spring rolls, chana masala, rice, and aloo paratha. The "salad" was basically just sliced onion, tomato, spinach, a few grated carrots, and literally one piece of tofu--no seasoning at all, not even proper salt or pepper. Completely bland. The chana masala was even worse. It had no real masala flavor--just a creamy, slightly sweet gravy with minimal salt. It didn't resemble chana masala in taste or texture. The aloo paratha was overpriced at $8 and came in small pieces with barely any stuffing inside. To make it worse, the chana masala alone was $23 and didn't even come with rice or any accompaniment, which is unreasonable. Overall, we paid a lot for extremely tasteless food. Definitely not returning and would not recommend this place if you're expecting authentic or even decent Indian flavors.

Was surprised to see a mixed Thai and Indian restaurant - not really the most related set of cuisines but decided to go try it out. Ordered samosas and a Tom Kha Kai as those are my staples in any Indian and Thai restaurants respectively. Was surprised to see the samosas sliced in half - guessing it's more so for presentation but that was a first. They were pretty flavorful, but I expect a kick in my Indian food and this was not present. I was also told their green sauce (mint chutney) would have a kick and it was notably absent. The tamarind sauce was good but it was missing something that I still can't really identify. The Tom Kha Kai was not on the spicy side at all, and the sauce they gave me to tack on to it was mild - however it was one of the three best Tom Kha I have ever tried, which is saying a lot. I had Paneer Makhani for my main course and two things I noticed - I expected the color to be more towards red, and this was not. The second was the rice - yellow basmati, as if it was cooked with saffron. I may be a bit of a snob but I like my basmati to be white when I eat Indian food as I don't want anything else influencing the flavor. The curry was good, but it didn't have that velvety texture usually seen in Makhani dishes - probably due to a reduced tomato content. And it was definitely missing some heat. Service was great and consistent. There were two servers at all times checking in and refilling water, and they were overall very courteous. Ambiance is a tossup - paper handkerchiefs with the cutlery is a no-no for Indian food since it's saucy and can spill easy. You couldn't even cover your lap with what was offered. The music was one small thing looped over and over, so it was repetitive. And it was expensive. $28.00 for the Paneer Makhani was overkill. I don't even pay that much for it in the finest Indian restaurants in Miami! 3/5. Good food but misses the mark for the price being paid. Would go back for the Tom Kha, or if someone else was footing the bill.

They are only open on Fridays from 11:00am to 2:00pm. This lunch spot does about 90% of its business as take out. They do have a couple hanging chairs and a small table on a rear patio to eat in. They do not serve alcohol. They only serve Roti which is a chick pea flour tortilla that is perfectly wrapped around a curry filling into a perfect package or envelope. Very savory, aromatic and delicious. You can select your curry filling from choices of: boneless chicken, chicken with bone, beef, shrimp, veggie or potato. If you like your curry extra spicy, they will ask you if you want pepper and if you say yes then a shot of their special local chili sauce is added to the filling for an extra kick and burst of flavor. Don't come here expecting restaurant type atmosphere and service because this place is all about incredible roti as it is located in owners open air garage at their home. It is a great experience if you are visiting St. Croix and your timing works out. You actually watch the chefs in the kitchen prepare your roti and the smells are incredible. This place can actually say that the food that they serve is home cooked. Lol! I give 5 stars with the above criteria and understanding factored into the equation for what it is.

The hostess refused to kick them out. I overheard the group behind us who had made a reservation also be denied. After finally being seated, it took over an hour to get our food. The poulet was very good, but the bread we ordered was smeared with a red sauce where it been cut with an obviously dirty knife. At the end of the night, they gave us a free piece of cake on the house, which is the only reason why this review isn't one star. Also, our waitress was really nice and friendly, which raised the mood of the evening considerably. Other than that, though, I'm afraid I can't recommend this restaurant.

St. Germain Bistro Bar happened to be right across from our Airbnb, and honestly it felt like we got lucky. Even though it was late, they seated us right away and helped us pull together two small tables so our family could sit comfortably. My kids were starving, so that alone was a huge relief. The portions for the kids' pasta and chicken nuggets were a little smaller than expected, but the flavor and quality were excellent. You could tell the food was made with care. I ordered the onion soup and the fried cheese with guava dip and wow. Absolutely delicious. The guava dip especially was incredible. I also had a mojito that was perfectly made. But what really made the night unforgettable was the kindness of the staff. My son had forgotten his inhaler and was having a hard time adjusting to the humidity. He was coughing a lot and clearly uncomfortable. Vianca noticed right away and went out of her way to help. She brought over honey and encouraged him to take a little shot with ginger and honey, then brought hot tea as well. She even suggested things like putting socks on him and using Vicks when we got back. When I mentioned that my kids are half Puerto Rican and their abuela already swears by those remedies, she just lit up and said, "Well you're home then, you already know what to do." That moment really stuck with me. The warmth, the care for kids, the genuine hospitality. It's exactly the kind of Puerto Rican kindness people talk about. The kitchen is small, so service can be a little slower, but it's absolutely worth the wait. The food is great, the drinks are great, and the people make the place special. If you're nearby, definitely stop in. Places like this are why people fall in love with Puerto Rico.
