Dining in is always a pleasant experience, beautiful décor, light, Asian inspired background music and friendly staff. My recommendations are the Tofu basil, big chunks of crispy golden tofu, stir-fried with fresh basil, spicy chilli and mixed vegetables or the Tempura vegetables which are served with a sweet chilli sauce - bon a petit!

They get points for having Roti Chennai with Satay sauce (mmmmm) but my husbands Chicken Pad Thai was distressingly lacking in any veg (although he was happy as he hates vegetables). My Thai Beef salad was OK, lots of coriander and onion, but the beef was cut with the grain, not against it so it was exceptionally chewy and gristly. I also got a veg dish with green beans which was pretty good. Portion sizes are massive, just missing that elusive uber traditional ZING.

There's a nice little patio area out the front where you can sit at tables in the breeze. Because Thai Chada is tucked away in the Grange there's a pleasant, local vibe and not much traffic around so the patio tables aren't subject to lots of traffic whooshing past which means you can easily have a conversation and enjoy your food. I think the thing that I like best about Thai Chada is how dedicated the staff are. Whenever I go past (which is at least daily) and all the other restaurants in this little village are closed, Thai Chada is reliably open and keen to welcome you. It's nice to see a suburban restaurant willing to stay open on past 8:30pm and also on Monday nights, especially for those of us who don't finish work until late or prefer not to eat too early. Thai Chada's diligence extends beyond opening hours, too. The staff are so warm and helpful and always seem pleased to see you.

Past the makeshift counter, you can see directly into the kitchen where the cooks prepare meals with a relaxed and carefree smile. Don't worry, its all good. If there's one thing that I've learned about Thai restaurants and takeaways, it's never judge the establishment by the way it appears. When I first arrived, my initial though was, I knew it was too good to be true. It was only that afternoon when my wife and I oow'd and ahh'd over a new thai menu found in our letterbox. We'd tried everything around the area and were happy to find a new place to indulge in. We ordered and were told our pick up would be ready in twenty minutes. This was great. When served at the counter, I was told that our food would be another five minutes. This was forgivable. When the plastic containers came out, steam building in the transparent containers, I took notice of the vibrant colours of the curries and warm beef salad we had ordered. That was reassuring. Arriving at home and opening our dinner, we were surprised that there was a genuine fresh look to the meals. The aromas themselves indicated that our meals hadn't been taken from some big pot of premade food. Compared to similar takeaways Chinpala Kitchen, doesn't serve as much, but makes it up in pure contentment through oral satisfaction.

Now that I am an adult living out of home, I still like to come here for some delicious Thai food and my opinion has not changed. I have tried many of their dishes and have never left this place without a huge smile and full stomach. On the menu, there is a 'Thai Terrace Specialties', from that section, I highly recommend the 'Banana Leaf Chicken'. This dish has the most amazing burst of flavour jam packed on tiny pieces of chicken. Order this dish with coconut rice on the side to balance out the spices, it works a treat. Other dishes I like are the 'Green Curry fried rice', 'Pad Thai', and 'Mussaman Beef'. It is not the cheapest restaurant in the area, but it is worth it. If you are on the hunt for the best Thai restaurant in Brisbane, well look no further because 'Thai Terrace' is the place you have been looking for.

Some friends and I were next door renting DVDs from Civic Video and had been planning to grab dinner somewhere in Rosalie Village before movie marathoning on someone's couch. We did a quick circuit and settled on Thai Terrace owing to it's breezy, spacious front terrace. Plenty of outdoor tables is always a plus at a restaurant, especially in the Queensland climate. We sat down and our menus were brought straight over. After much discussion about sharing and who wanted what, we had come up with a lengthy and complex order which always makes me a bit nervous because restaurants can be prone to messing those up. I needn't have worried because the food came out after only a short wait and nothing was missing and everything was tasty and authentic. We all agreed that it had been a successful meal and that we'd picked the right restaurant and ordered well. We thought the staff and service at Thai Terrace had been far above average and that the prices were very reasonable (especially once we split the bill per head).
