It's great to have Thai food in Bernardsville! Thai Villa recently opened in the space formerly occupied for years by Asian Delight. The entire mall is being remodeled so expect some construction work around the outside facade, but all of the stores are open. Thai Villa is owned by the same family that owns the Thai restaurant in Lyons Mall in Basking Ridge, NJ. The menus are predictably similar, which is not a bad thing. That is a very good restaurant. I took out dinner from Thai Villa last night, and the food was excellent. We had an order of Pad Thai with shrimp, an order of Pad Kee Mao (aka"drunken noodles") and a spring roll appetizer. The spring rolls were perfect - light and crispy with great flavor and served with a tangy dipping sauce. They were not greasy at all, a sign of cooking with oil at the correct temperature! The Pad Thai had the right mixture of peanuts, sprouts, rice noodles, and shrimp. It was very tasty, and the shrimp were fresh and cooked properly. Their version has no real spice heat to it, which is fine for me. It was a very generous portion - likely enough for two adults or three kids. The Pad kee mao is a spicy dish, with wide noodles, peppers, shrimp, onions, mushrooms, and basil in a chili sauce. It is a heavier dish than the Pad Thai and other lighter Thai noodle dishes, but very tasty. Their version is excellent, and identical to their sister restaurant's take on it. If you are used to some of the more expensive Thai places around here like Origin Thai, this restaurant is a much better value. My meal with the two entrees and an appetizer was around $38 - considerably less than what I usually spend at similar restaurants. Origin, to be fair, has some more exotic choices on their menu showing a French influence, and their restaurants are a bit more ornate than Thai Villa, so it's not entirely an apples to apples comparison. Still, for great Thai food for a very fair price, it's hard to beat Thai Villa in Bernardsville. I look forward to trying more of their dishes.

Came off the highway into the town for a quick lunch. And I was so far from dissapointed, I was amazed. Firstly the place smells amazing, and the food was just as incredible. I ordered the Yum Nurr on a total whim not knowing what I was going to get. The vegetables were so crunchy and delicious with the charcoal beef. Someone else ordered the beef lomein and it wasn't greasy at all! The food is so nice and the flavors are all very balanced. They have spicy indications on the menu, but the spices at the one level for meals are not that hot and very good.

The owner Jeff is always kind and courteous. The service is that of a 5 star upscale restaurant. Everyone is aways attentive. The food is very tasty and delicious. Being a Thai restaurant, there are many dishes that can be very spicy. So be sure to consult with your server with the level of spiciness you want. There usually a range from 1-5 in spice range. If you're local, give them a try. I'm sure you will keep coming back. For those who prefer Chinese cuisine, they also have a Chinese menu.

My mom and I wanted to try something different, not feeling like Subs, Pizza or Chipotle, we opted for a sit down lunch at Thai Villa. The ambience was authentic and we loved the placemats and elephants everywhere. Our waiter was most likely the owner. He offered great appetizer and lunch suggestions. My mom and I shared shrimp dumplings as an appetizer and, for lunch, we shared two of the recommended chef specials, they were: Mee Siam (stir fried thin rice noodles with shrimp roast pork and mushrooms a little spice wirh curry) plus the yummy Crispy Mango Chicken with white rice. We loved the sweet and sour mango sauce with the crunchy onions and peppers. I'll be back!

I came back for a lunch meal…read more I had the mango chicken. It was lightly breaded chicken stir fried with bell peppers, shredded mango, and Thai basil. It also came with a side of white rice. I opted for a three-spice level. This was well put together and a good size portion. It was sweeter than I thought, but the spice offset it a little bit. Everything was cooked appropriately as well. It was just a satisfying dish. I also split the seafood tom yum noodle soup that came with thin rice noodles, shrimp, squid, mussels, bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, and lemongrass. Again, this was nicely done. There was plenty of all the ingredients and everything was flavored right. It was a soothing bowl.

Thai Kitchen is truly the best Thai restaurant in New Jersey. My family has been coming here for…read moreyears, and it continues to impress us every time. The owner is always so friendly, and the entire operation runs like a well-oiled machine. The restaurant is always packed--a testament to how great the food and service are. My husband and I love trying new dishes every visit, and they never disappoint. Today, we started with Thai Rolls and Yum Ped Yang as appetizers--both were absolutely delicious. For our entrees, we had "Eight is Enough" and the Seafood Combo. So, so good! Every bite was packed with flavor. We finished with Crème Brûlée and Mango Mousse Cake for dessert--light, refreshing, and the perfect way to end the meal. Highly recommend Thai Kitchen to anyone looking for authentic Thai food, friendly service, and a consistently fantastic dining experience!
