Super impressive spot in relatively remote location. We had the ginger fish special. It was superb. Lightly fried, beautiful presentation, delicious delicate sauce. It was one of the best dishes we've had in some time, and we're city dwellers in a foodie city. Massaman curry and mango sticky rice also top notch! This place is pretty good overall. The owners and staff are very friendly. The food is good, not the best as I did notice a few mistakes like using a lemon wedge instead of lime for the pad Thai and some of the veggies weren't the freshest, but overall a good meal. Better than Saen imho. One mistake that I notice a lot of people making here is coming in and ordering individual entrees for everyone in their party and then eating with forks and knives. Thai Thani also uses cheap wooden chopsticks as if to say they don't want their customers using them. Prices are a little bit high for the Poconos as it seems like this place is catering to the NY NJ weekend tourists and they have priced everything to be commensurate with the income levels of NYC. read more

I was elated to find this gem in my hometown area soon after repatriating from two years spent in Thailand. Dishes I've had that have blown my mind have included the Som Tam, Pad Kee Mao, and Pad Thai. A person I've gone with several times swears by the Pad Cee Eew. Unfortunately their menu lacks two of my favorites--Laab Gai, and Kow Sawy (despite their Chiang Mai section). The ambiance is great, and their service is very friendly and attentive. Portions are generous enough that you should be able to take home a treat for later. But as with all Thai restaurants, it's good to go with a group, order many dishes, and enjoy them family style so everyone gets to taste around. If not, it's like going to an orgy where each person's confined to their own twin bed. read more

Let me start by saying that a pack of 23 of us, hungry as hell were driving back to Jersey from an all day rafting trip and wanted to find a restaurant to accommodate all of us with a 25-minute notice...what were we thinking?? Thai Thani, with its ample-spaced dining room, took on this challenge despite our arrival time being within 40 minutes of their closing. We arrived and waited a few minutes for the servers to set up our 3 tables and then in we went. Between the 23 of us, we probably ordered almost every item on the menu, and boy was everything phenomenal! The curry puff appetizer was incredible, the tom yum and coconut soups were spectacular, and then the noodle and rice dishes were deeelicious! Not to mention, the two servers (one of whom kept us wildly entertained all night with his comedy) executed our orders with such precision - no mistakes, no mix-ups, and this was already post closing after a full day of work! Compliments to the chefs and the wait staff - great place! Side note: the decor is a bit outdated and the lighting is dark and dreary inside but do not let this put you off! Suggestion to the owners: some additional mood lighting would really amp up the place! :) read more

After the GPS took me to 611north and could not find this place, arrived and was treated to a nice outside table. Basil Chicken fried rice was pre-cooked and 'warmed over' with a small Amt. Of basil and veggies. Just ok, may not try again for awhile. read more

We went after our ski trip in Camelback at 10pm, and they have already set the table up for us. Everything we ordered are amazing, curry puff, red snapper and drunken noodle are my FAV!! Pa Thai and fried Shrimp appetizer are also great. However, the only thing I'm not satisfied is that the waitress took my friend's cash instead of my credit card after I told her to make sure to charge my card, since we want to thank my friend to drive us all the way to PA. Well but it's not food related, so I'm still giving it a four stars. Would come back again. read more

We have some great Thai places in the Poconos, and after finally eating at Thai Thani, I have to move this one at the top of the list. My dish looked so good that I forgot to take a photo before I dug in. I ordered the Mee siam, which is cellophane noodles in a curry sauce with veggies, cashews and raisins - YUM!!! It tasted great! My date also enjoyed his Pra Ram, chicken in peanut sauce. The Thai iced tea was also perfect - not too milky, not too sweet. Great service; will return for more! read more

I am a regular customer of Thai food everywhere I go, whether if it's on business or family travel. The food here is average. Portions are average. However, the service was totally unacceptable. I found this place on Google and the ratings were pretty good so I want to give it a try. When we walk through the door, we waited several minutes before anybody greeted us. They sat down without menus and several minutes later the waitress attempted to take our order. We then asked for menus and she basically tossed them in the center of the table. Since it was our first time there we had several questions asking about portion size and how the food tastes and she basically just looked at us with a straight face without any recommendations or answers like we were bothering her. As we were being served, they just handed us the entrées so we had to place them on the table ourselves. I did not hear a thank you from the wait staff during the entire meal. At first I was wondering why the the staff was so unpleasant. I then figured it out. We were charged 18% gratuity on top of our bill. So therefore, they knew they were going to get a big tip already since the bill was $180. Will I ever go back to this place? Never! If you are in the Poconos area and want to have average Thai food and do not care about service, then this will be fine. Otherwise, spend your money elsewhere. read more

I went to Thai Tani last week with my sister for a quiet weeknight dinner. I order a salmon special which came with cold green tea noodles. The salmon was a bit bland and over cooked for my taste, but the noodles were spectacular. I also had a Mai Thai to drink, and they make the best Mai Thai I have ever had (and I am a professional bartender so I know what I'm talking about). For dessert I had the fried ice cream which was incredible. It's home made coconut ice cream which was delightfully cool and creamy. It jad Some kind of coating on it which wasn't too sweet and really brought out the flavor of the ice cream. The presentation was the best part though, they poured a generous shot of Bacardi 151 over top and lit it on fire right at the table! I would come back just for that read more

We had a party of 4 and sat at the bar for a drink before dinner. The bartender/hostess was complaining about another customer that walked in, the lime in the gin and tonic was dried out and nasty looking and there was a gentleman behind the counter with a baby in a carrier on his chest. The same man was eating behind the counter while walking around. Unprofessional from start to finish. We paid for our drinks and didn't stay for dinner. read more

The food here was quite good. The decor was very nice. We got some take out and sat at the bar waiting for it. Bar was very nice as well. The only reason I didn't give this place 4 or even 5 stars is because they messed up our order and we didn't notice it until we were 20 minutes away, back in our hotel. And it wouldn't have been a big deal but we got shrimp instead of chicken tempura and my girl doesn't eat seafood. So besides that mistake the place was great. If we're back in this area again we'll just eat in to make sure the order is OK. read more

I've been to this restaurant twice and it's pretty consistent. The food is tasty and flavorful. The staff is nice but I wouldn't call them friendly. The service is fast and efficient and the restaurant itself is beautiful, family friendly and quiet. The drinks were not watered down but not too strong either. The prices are decent and the portions are generous. I gave it only 3 stars because the place seems to be missing something that I can't quite put my finger on it. Maybe some music would liven the place up a bit. Overall, it's a pleasant experience and I would definitely eat here again and recommend this place to others. read more

Always heard about this restaurant being great, so was passing by and decided to stop yesterday. Was in a rush to be home thus decided on take out with my sister - was going to enjoy this wonderful meal with the family when we got home. Ordered the Shrimp in Love - the order especially the shrimp was not freshly prepared, you could tell that the shrimp was heated up again to serve. Pad Kee Maow (Drunken Noodles) - the ingredients were also not freshly made, arriving home and sampling it, I could not allow the rest of the family to taste this food. I've gone to Thailand and have had it at other restaurants but this tasted terrible. I ordered other things that you could see was not done properly, too upset to even post pictures or go on. It does not matter if the food was order to go "take out" or dine in... I did not expect this poor quality of food. Sad to state that the Poconos - East Stroudsburg & Stroudsburg, PA are serving up lousy Thai food - Not because majority of the people buying don't know the correct taste of the food, that does not mean that you should not prepare freshly prepared taste good food, like you are at home in Thailand. If you wouldn't eat the food you prepare at home, please do not serve it to customers. This goes to all ethnicity food restaurants (in the Poconos);please cook and serve quality food that can be appreciated by everyone and don't be a disappointment. Stayed at the Country Inn, and saw this right around the corner as a good dinner option! The decor of the space is gorgeous, and really brings out a dim-lit, romantic atmosphere. All of the servers were very attentive, and our waitress was a pleasure to have! Food-wise, this is probably one of the better Thai places I've been to in the tri-state area. For an appetizer, we had the shrimp-in-love which was deliciously fried with a batter that had a hint of coconut and complemented by a tangy chili sauce. I had the Pad Se Aew which was so good, I cleaned the entire plate and likewise for my date who had the "drunken noodles" entree. Although I always love trying new things, I wouldn't hesitate to stop by here again when in the area! read more

Good food, service a bit slow -- maybe understaffed. I've gone here many times over the years and have never been disappointed, although it was better when it first opened. The spicing seems to have been dialed back from those early days, but still good stuff here. I have to mentioned one strange experience of showing up at 3:00 and finding the restaurant "closed for lunch," not closed for lunch time, but closed so the staff could eat lunch. I've never experienced such a thing. Maybe they should hire another staff member or two, so the business could be open while some of the staff has a break. Such frugality makes me wonder where else they're cutting corners. read more

Interesting combination of flavors that included apple and ginger. Eggplant basil, a goto dish for us, was cooked very well and not too oily. The food was absolutely amazing. We went on a Sunday night, and after reading the reviews I was really excited for the Thai tea (which was fabulous) and the seafood. But I was wary about the reports on waiting time for plates. But tonight, they did not dissapoint! Service was prompt yet didn't hover, and when another waitress saw us looking at pictures of the dishes on Yelp for a better idea, she came over and explained the plates to us in relation to the menu and it was so helpful for figuring out what to order for the taste and spice level we were craving. The portion sizes were perfect, and despite our dishes being around $20 each, I'm not even mad because of how perfectly it was cooked -- nothing rubbery, spices amazing.
