I come out here to shoot my guns and I've driven by this place so many times, that when I finally drove by one time hungry, I decided to head in. Right off of foxtown hill road at the top of the hill, this little gem sits in a very unassuming spot (and they have a helluva view). I walked in expecting a fast food type of joint, but this place looked NICE especially since there are zero restaurants nearby. We were seated for lunch immediately and they had a pretty large menu. Prices varied, honestly on the high end, but this is a nice restaurant, not a corner fast food Thai place. We ordered the spring rolls and I had a Pad Thai with beef. The pad thai was $12 and change and the spring rolls were about $6 and change. Service was decently fast but it was during lunch so I would have expected better since we were the only ones there at 12:00 PM. The spring rolls were perfectly fried and delicious. The complimentary shrimp chips were also a nice touch. When I received my pad thai, I was a little shocked at the portion. It was quite large, so big points to this place for backing up their higher prices with good quantity of food. I'd have to say that I've had a few thai restaurants before and this pad thai was certainly one of the better ones I have had. Loved that everything was seasoned well, the herbs were fresh, and it was pretty perfect other than the fact the beef was not as tender as it could have been. Came here for dinner one night because I didn't want to eat at the hotel I was staying at. It's a nice place, a bit on the expensive side but the food and service were decent so there want much to complain about. Our group ordered the papaya salad, large tom yum soup, the yellow curry, the green curry, and a pad see ew. Overall all dishes were decent although it would have been nice if all the dishes could be made spicier. The papaya salad was not soaked in the sauce long enough so flavor was superficial. Great, authentic Thai food -- 2nd best in the area to Thai Orchid (although it is close). Ambiance is must different than Thai Orchid, and they have a full bar hear. If Charlie is around, be sure to ask him to make you Siamese Coffee with your dessert! I recently saw this little place while driving by and asked around if anyone had ever been there. I was surprised to find out almost all of the people I spoke to had been there and all thought it was really good food. We went there for dinner one evening and were not disappointed. The interior looked clean and comfortable but we decided to sit outside since it was a beautiful night. The view outside is really nice but there is some traffic noise that can be a little distracting. The service was very friendly and did a nice job. This is a smaller place out of the way so they don't staff it with a lot of people, the service was great but not the fastest - which is not a problem unless you are in a hurry, we were there to relax and enjoy dinner. The food was really good, the Pad I had was delicious and the entrée my wife had was great as well, I sampled it a few times... Off to the side of the road an unexpecting restaurant has some really good Thai food! And amazing views! I came here while I was staying at a B+B in the area and I was happy to find a good Thai spot so close. We got the Thai chicken wings which were so unique and delicious, it was like like normal Thai wings but they also made their own homemade hot sauce and coated the wings in it. We also got the Thai dumplings which were huge and flavorful! Paired nice with the sweet soy dipping sauce they had. We also got the pad see eew and the basil fried rice. The pad see eew was delicious! Really good flavor and the shrimp in it was cooked to perfection. I could of done with out the cauliflower in it I never had this dish with cauliflower normally it is broccoli in it but it was still very good! The basil fried rice was also delicious and had the perfect amount of spice! We asked for hot and it was flavorful without being over bearing. I would of liked more basil flavor in the basil fried rice, overall it tasted like a really good fried rice but the strong basil flavor was missing. None the less everything was delicious and I highly recommend. Bonus!! The bathrooms were probably the cleanest bathrooms I ever seen in a restaurant very clean and it smelled fresh when you went in lol. The female waitress there works very hard! After a month of a long over stay in the Poconos, my inner city ego had me screaming for a variety of food that didn't include the boring restaurant chains or fast food that one would typically find in Stroudsburg. I needed something more, something unique, and more importantly something ethnic to satisfy my colorful soul. My native tongue craved Thai food, and this was the closest Thai place to where I stayed. I had to go there twice because I didn't know that this place is closed on Mondays. So keep that in mind when you're planning. We caught the lunch special crowd, and there were great items on the menu. I, as usual, ordered the basil beef (Pad Krapow) while my boyfriend ordered the Pad See Ew. These are safe bets as it's hard to mess up something so good. My dish was delightfully flavorful but lacked a hint of authenticity. However, I didn't mind it as it was still delicious. I usually like my Basil Beef grounded and with just basil spice, but they Americanized the dish in just the perfect amount. And the Pad See Ew was amazing. Also, we ordered their Thai Iced Tea which is always refreshening. The decor makes you feel at home as it's very comfortable, inviting, and exotic. I can't remember my server's name, but she was super sweet and polite as most Thai people are. The only slight downside of this place is that I wasn't too fond of their portion size. We stayed in Ramada hotel in Tannersville and felt like having Thai food. When I searched on Yelp, two Thai restaurant came up in Stroudsberg, one of which was Thai Thani. It was not too crowded on Saturday night. There are plenty of seats in the restaurant. We ordered Tom Yum Shrimp and Tom Kha Gai for soup, and ordered Green Curry with chicken, Pad Preow Wan (sweet and sour) with beef and Jumbo Shrimp. The food was decent, maybe a bit thinner than I was hoping, but it is my personal taste. We enjoyed our meal, and my daughter enjoyed Thai Iced Tea. The price was reasonable. Next time we are around Poconos area, it will be one of the choices for our dinner plan. read more

Green curry was good. Mild spicy was the perfect amount of spice for me. My friend got a "level 5" spicy, which is the spiciest it can get. It was pretty darn spicy to me, but my Vietnamese friend claims that viet people eat very spicy food so he could handle it. Anyway, the green curry was sweet, savory, slightly spicy, coconut-y, and basil-y. I thought their pad thai was too sweet, and the pad see ew was better in terms of the sweet to savory ratio. It was an interesting experience. Being a city kid, I'm pretty spoiled when it comes to food, especially Asian food. (But I take the location of the restaurant in account for my expectations, so I didn't expect much.) We ordered safe dishes: shrimp tempura (which had 2 shrimp pieces and the rest veggies), yellow chicken with curry, and the pad thai. Everything tasted a little too sweet- the iced tea was too sweet, the curry was sweet-ish, the sauce for the tempura was sweet, etc. All in all, I probably wouldn't prefer to go again if I was ever in the area. Truly a hidden gem in the mountains of the poconos! We were driving through the town and stopped at this random Thai restaurant and boy were we delightfully surprised! It was very nice inside. Staff was very nice and owner even came out and greeted us and made sure our meal was good. The food was very delicious and spicy. Definitely give the all around experience 5 stars. I'm not sure what was cooler, the fact that the waitress lit our fried ice cream on fire with Bacardi 151, or the Thai face cutouts outside. Very fun! read more

So these are some of the things that happen on 2021-06-22 we went to this Restaurant call Thai Thani with high hopes after reading all of the reviews. 1. The Hostess was not greeting customers at a restaurant with a smile, welcoming them into the establishment, seating them, and providing them with a menu. 2. The waitress was rushing us while taking the order and just left in the middle to make another order for another table, which we did not expect at all. 3. The restaurant was very dark, to be honest, we couldn't see the menu. 4. The way she was taking the order and talking with us was very weird it seems like she did not know the correct answers to the questions that we ask her. 5. She banged on the table with her pen while explaining something. 6. Then she brought the drinks in dirty glasses. 7. The food finally came after 40 minutes and it tasted terrible this is not Thai food they forgot the taste of Thai food like in Bangkok Thailand. I know I have been in this country many times in my past jobs. 8. We have no idea the reason for their behavior was like this. We order two (2) steaks well done and made sure that she understands that we did not want them to burn. When we cut the steaks there were not cooked properly they had blood coming out so we asked the waitress to have the chef please cook them properly she came back 15 minutes later with Charcoal steaks they whore BLACK know to remember the place is dark however you can still see the hard Charcoal steaks it was like taking you shoos and eating them bad business. We are never coming back to Thai Thani and also not suggesting anyone come to eat here. The Thai Thani experience was very unpleasant and terrible. 9. Don't live any personal belonging there not honest I left my glasses there when I realized that I left them I when black to look for them however they were close the next day I call to ask them about my glasses they stated that they did not find anything my douts on the muscles guy there. read more

Thai Thani is a regular haunt for us. I'd really like to give them five stars, but the quality and freshness of the food occasionally varies and a couple of times the time from order to table was too long (over 50 minutes). 95% of the time, and especially recently, the food has been great Thai -- perfectly spiced with fresh meats and veges. So very pleasantly surprised to find a yummy Thai restaurant up here in the Poconos. After a long day of skiing the day before, we were in search of some delicious food to satisfy our Thai craving. We walked in to a very clean and classy looking restaurant. We got seated at a booth right away and were brought water and crunchy shrimp crackers. The waitress suggested some of the restaurants' best dishes and then gave us more time to look over the rest of the menu. We order the classic Phad Kee Mao or "drunken noodles" with pork and the green curry with beef for sharing. Both dishes came out relatively quickly and were steaming hot. The phad kee mao was actually one of my favorite renditions because it came out with a kick of spiciness. The green curry was filled with many veggies like eggplants and string beans and was delicious in the curry/coconut flavor. I only wish that there was more sauce that I could have mixed with the rice. When I am back in the area again for snowboarding next time, I will definitely bring my family and friends here. read more

This place has wonderful food! I ordered fried shrimp and brown rice (nice that you have the choice of white or brown!). The waiter asked on a scale of 0-5 how spicy I wanted it. I had ordered "3, " but I do believe I accidentally got either a "1" or "0," which actually was fine with me! (I tasted a friend's "3,." and it was pretty darned spicy, so I do advise you be careful when you order. If it's not spicy enough I'll bet they can fix it, or the next time you go (and I'm sure you will) you can bump your spice level up. This is literally one of the greatest restaurants I have ever been to, and it is definitely the greatest Thai place in the area. I have been ordering from here for the last seven years. While I have no doubt every dish on this menu is amazing, my favorite items to order are the Thai Thani House fried rice and the Masaman curry. I order them together because they are just that good. Sometimes I have leftovers, and sometimes I don't because I cannot stop eating it! It takes a lot to self restraint! Haha! Everything on the menu is well worth the money. Whether you are dining in or taking out, I cannot rave enough about the quality of the service and the food. Amazing! Anything that I ate here was absolutely delicious. Our group passed around and shared dishes, so it was a fantastic opportunity to try many different dishes. We started out with fried calamari, which were so crispy but delicate on the inside... i have never had such good calamari. For my entree I had the red curry (medium spicy) with chicken, which did not disappoint! I was on the verge of licking the plate, but fortunately my rice helped in soaking up the curry. The other amazing dishes I tried were the basil seafood dish, chicken pad thai and pad cashew nut with chicken. All of which I would be thrilled to have continued eating. For dessert, in similar style, we shared: green tea ice cream, fried cheese cake, fried banana, and mango & sticky rice. I give this establishment 5/5. Well so far so awesome! We just had the Crab Tower for our appetizer and wow! It was truly delicious! The crab meat mixed with mangos and avocado was a perfect marriage! The owner came up to talk to us and he was really nice! It's nice to have the owner come to your table and check on us. They don't have free refills on the tai tea which my wife and I both love but that's ok. I ordered the Thai Thani fried rice and the portions were great and the taste even better. I highly recommend it. My wife had the green curry chicken and that was also great. A little spicy but my wife is from Pakistan also she's used to that.
