WOW In a word. WOW. My day one homies have been raving about this place for a while now. Both live/work close by so they come here on a weekly basis. So I decided to take advantage since I'm in the area for the week. Dropped in for dinner with a friend. I started with a Singha and thai tea (no boba) while I waited for my friend. We got: Fresh Rolls -so good. It's basically like having a salad, but better. There's no meat inside so if you prefer it with, you have to tell them if you want shrimp or whatever. The spicy basil dip that comes with it is so good I made sure they packed the leftover to go. Thai BBQ Chicken - perfectly cooked. The meat came off the bones so swiftly. Not to put too much focus on the sauce again, but wow. It paired perfectly with the meat. I mixed the leftover basil and was mindblown. Tangerine Chicken - my friend's pick. I liked it. Had a few bites. I wanted however to focus on my picks Crab Fried Rice - I mean, what even. So bomb. This is what I would keep coming back for Panang Curry - chicken - coconut milk makes everything better. It honestly does. I wish I asked for this one spicy. My friends did not do me wrong. I ordered some thai food from this place on yelp fulfilled by grubhub. I ordered their pad thai, spicy basil fried rice and crab cheese appetizer. Order only took about 20 or so minutes to get prepared, so that was nice. Neighborhood is a little rough looking... Not much parking in the parking lot or even on the streets. Picked up my order and headed back to the safe part of oxnard. 1) Pad thai- this was really good!!! Really good flavors. Cooked well. I had it with beef and the beef was so tender!! I would come back here solely for their pad thai (when the sun is up, of course...) 2) Spicy basil fried rice- this one wasent that great. Minimal amounts of spiciness. Also flavors were just so so. It wasen't that great.. 3) Crab cheese wantons were really good. Nice crunch on the outside, good amounts of imitation crab and cheese on the inside. The shell is a little bit on the thin side. The name Thai Quality truly speaks for itself. The full 5 stars is spot on! My mom and I came here for dinner on a Friday night. Parking is super limited in the plaza so you gotta come prepared to find a good spot or hope they have one of their assigned parking spots available. We were greeted by the chef and his wife. They are so sweet and made sure we were well taken care of. They moved from Santa Barbara, which they opened up their own restaurant here in Oxnard. The food is phenomenal! I don't eat eggs so I do request my pad thai without eggs and my spice level was just right. My mom ordered the eggplant with shrimp. Everything was hot and flavorful. Your Choice Restaurant in Santa Barbara has absolutely, wholeheartedly, extremely and completely spoiled me when it comes to Chicken Coconut Soup/Tom Kha. It's a bit thicker and creamy forward FIRST, well-balanced, with layers of flavor following on the backend. And since then, I've been comparing all other Tom Kha to it. In comparison, this Tom Kha soup here is a bit thin/watery and not as complex/layered in flavor. Also, I didn't see any ginger or galangal in my soup that I usually see elsewhere, although I could still taste a hint of it. Call me crazy for aesthetics, BUT WHERE WAS IT??? Lol. I like to suck on it while eating my soup so that it ensures I get that taste with each bite. Also...this soup seems to be more spicy than sour and I need to taste more of the sour. However, The lemongrass was there. Hey...in the end, it was good and It will do. If you love Tom Kha, it's not the greatest, but it won't disappoint. And I absolutely loved the fresh rolls. Light, basil-forward and fresh with a wonderful spicy green sauce that I paired with their peanut sauce (cause the green sauce alone is HOT). The vegans and vegetarians will love it, for sure. Previously a Chef at Your Place in Santa Barbara. Don't be fooled by the exterior surrounding parts as parking is a bit snug (there are several businesses that share the same parking lot). I sure do love what they did to the place. The amazing decor was done by Chef Sunny's wife. My friends & I all had Thai Tea. My friends bf got the Chicken Curry, he said it was Good. The rest of us ordered the Pad Thai (Chicken) & Drunken Noodles (Chicken). Both were Delish! They ask you what spice level: Mild, Medium or Hot. I like spicy, so Medium seemed normal for me. Although my friend got Medium on hers, she said it was spicy. If you aren't quite sure, just order mild! You can totally add more spice to it as your heart desires aka what your heart can handle. The 5 of us ended up sharing the Mango Sticky Rice for dessert. Fresh cut mango, purple colored sweet sticky rice w/ a side of sweet sauce. Mmm! It just melts in your mouth. The curry was good, nothing spectacular. The veggies in the egg roll felt soggy and old. The cashew chicken was my favorite. Good flavor but could of used more chicken. The pad Thai was okay. This place just opened up a couple months ago. The food here is fantastic! I have been here 4 times now and everything I have tried has been incredible, best Thai food I have had in a long time. The flavors are very authentic. The food quality is very good. Fair warning, if you like spicy food order medium spice, they do not play around. If you order hot you better be able to handle some serious heat. Update June 2020 Been coming here at least once per week, sometimes more, since January 2019. Never ever disappointed. About 4 months ago I supped at "Thai Quality" and had a fairly good meal. Tonight I returned for dinner and found it disappointing for a few reasons. The prices had jumped $3-5 per dish. I asked for mild spice the food was so hot that I really couldn't finish the dinner. I tolerate spice fairly well, but this was just too spicy. Somehow there was lack of communication to the chef in the kitchen. Should have sent the dishes back. Thai Quality is an a nice comfortable way to get your fix for authentic Thai food. I always come here for their panang curry and it's so rich but satisfying that you can't get enough! The chicken is soft and melts in your mouth, and the jasmine rice has a good mouth feel with the curry. Their lunch special has a nice palate cleansing soup and salad before your curry and it's a nice precursor!
